Remota Patagonia Lodge

Such an interesting hotel! Beautifully designed to fit snug into the landscape, this hotel knows how to visually please and treat tourists. The breakfast buffet was delicious. The bartenders crafted wonderful drinks. Staff members were very helpful and gave great restaurant and experience suggestions.

I had read mixed reports about this hotel, but I personally enjoyed my stay here. I was on a group tour and stayed in this hotel twice. Two 1 nights stays, so I was in two different rooms. My first stay here was in room on the first floor quite near the reception area that did have good 'WiFi' access and the second stay was down a long corridor to a room on the ground floor that had no 'WiFi' access. It did not bother me not having 'WiFi' in my room as it was only for one night and it was easy to walk along to the main lounge area if you needed a signal. |I thought both rooms were really nice and I loved the views from both. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom although a little dark in both rooms was perfectly adequate. |The main lounge area was a very pleasant area to sit and chat with friends and enjoy a glass of wine while looking at the view. The restaurant was also nice, but pricey and I only ate here on my first stay, the second stay I ate in a nice little restaurant more or less across the road from the hotel. |It is quite a long walk along into the town, but not a problem if you're reasonably fit. I walked it during the day, but don't think I would be happy to walk on my own in the evening. |Overall I think this is a perfectly nice hotel and would happily stay here again if visiting the Torres Del Paine National Park.

What an innovative hotel. Architecturally quite distinctive (and hard to describe) and quite nice. Excellent food, and wonderfully comfortable beds. The pool and hot tub have gorgeous views. We definitely recommend this as the best appointed lodging in town. The only downside is that Remota is solid 1/2 hour walk from the”downtown”, so if you want to eat anywhere but the hotel, you’ll have a bit of a hike. But it’s flat, along the waterfront and actually very pleasant.

This is a wonderful accommodation in Puerto Natales. It has a very unique layout and modern design, yet, still we felt right at home. The rooms were very clean and organized and the staff were all wonderful. Especially, Javiela at the reception. She really went out of her way to help us with information and was very kind and patient with all of our inquiries. The restaurant served some of the best cuisine we've eaten in a long time. The Remota Lodge is perfectly situated just outside of town and was just a few minutes away with a quick Uber ride. There are multiple lounges in and around the main lobby area with outstanding views of the mountains and waterways. Will most certainly return to the Remota Lodge next time we pass through Puerto Natales.

We can't imagine staying anywhere else! My partner and I could not have been happier with this wonderful lodge. This is a very special place. The staff was SO attentive, welcoming, and thoughtful. The hotel itself is just the perfect blend of modern, rustic, and cozy, set on a hillside overlooking a picturesque fjord, just a 20-minute walk from Puerto Natales. Beautiful and unique architecture of wood, glass, and stone. The rooms are spotless and spacious. The spa has an infinity pool, 2 hot tubs, and a lovely sauna. The main building has a top-notch restaurant serving incredibly delicious food for breakfast and dinner. We especially enjoyed the guanaco carpaccio appetizer (see photo!). We also booked 2 full-day excursions into Torres del Paine National Park through the Remota which we had expected to be group experiences, but which turned out to be private hikes for just the 2 of us with a designated driver and 2 knowledgeable young guides who were wonderful company and provided technical and emotional support on steep hills and river crossings. These full-day excursions are expensive but worth every peso! [TIP: if you want to take a boat excursion to see glaciers, don't book that through the hotel--there's no need use their private guides and it's much more affordable to book through Howlanders in Puerto Natales.] We'd read so many negative reviews of the place that seemed to focus on the slipperiness of the bathtubs (there is a grip mat provided), the unheated corridor between the 3 buildings (which has amazing views of a field full of rabbits!), the inability to turn the heat down in the rooms (we simply opened the window a pinch) and the need to walk outside to get to the spa (we got changed in the toasty sauna). Please don't let these very minor differences between this hotel and the hotels you are probably used to stop you from experiencing all of the wonderful things this place does so much better than most others!

the Remota was a wonderful place to stay. We stayed the night of Christmas eve. The food was amazing, including the largest dessert buffet I have ever seen. The calafate sour was delicious as well. The spa was also wonderful; we used the outdoor hot tub and the sauna. Both were clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay there again.

Very comfortable and cozy property with lovely aesthetics. However, there are some basics missing that I would expect from a property at this price point (or a much lower price point). There should be a coffee maker and/or an induction water heater in the rooms. Also, I understand the need to be environmentally friendly, but not having bar soap available upon request isn’t acceptable (it’s interesting that every environmentally friendly measure taken by hotels also costs them less money). The beds and pillows were mediocre, but serviceable. The blinds were effective at keeping the light out during the long days this time of year.

This hotel is so strange- both in a fascinating and perplexing way. As much as I enjoyed discovering all the out-of-the-ordinary aspects during my stay, I would classify it as 3.5 star and I would not stay there again. - The wifi barely works and it’s a 30 minute walk from town. The view is nevertheless very beautiful. - The architecture is unexpected and peculiar. The halls zigzag, the floor is a constant slant. Interesting, yet disconcerting. - The rooms are slightly unfinished. The window shade partitions left an inch gap, the shower curtain feels like a flimsy afterthought, the bathroom mirror seems to be glued onto the glass window, the ‘do not disturb’ sign doesn’t fit the door handle (which is a slab of wood), etc. - The vibe was odd. At 10pm we were awoken by persistent knocking at our door, which turned out to be a housekeeper who asked if we wanted water? Absolutely bizarre. I actually really enjoyed the one night we stayed here because there were so many oddities to discover (such as the very cute rabbits living under the main walkway). An excursion company booked the hotel for us, so we had zero notion of what to expect, which probably helped us enjoy it more. I recommend this hotel to adventurous, curious, and fit people (there is no elevator). For others, I would recommend booking a hotel directly in town.
