Remota Patagonia Lodge

Generally speaking, the location and the surroundings of the hotel are great. However, we booked the room on their website, and the USD amount was shown as “tax included.” At the moment of payment, we were told that an additional 19% tax would be added because we were paying in CLP. In the end, we found a very small note at the bottom of the confirmation email explaining that if payment is made in CLP, an extra 19% tax applies. That is fine, but why does the website say “tax included”? Please do not confuse guests. Also, the young girl at the front desk did not explain things clearly and was not professional at all, even though we were communicating in Spanish. The hotel does not have an elevator, only stairs, so it is very inconvenient if you are very tired or injured. When entering the room, there were two huge ponchos placed right in front of the bed. It felt a bit strange for us, as they looked like they were staring at us while we were sleeping. and the bathroom is very small..... On the same day, we had dinner at the hotel and waited about 45 minutes for our two dishes. simply don’t understand why a fish dish would take that long. It was really upsetting after a long day trip. The one star for service is for the Colombian waiter, who was very nice and cheerful. In addition, the hotel's swimming pool requires passing through an outdoor corridor, which is not very practical due to the wind and rain might have. Considering its price, the overall service and facilities are really not match.

I had read mixed reports about this hotel, but I personally enjoyed my stay here. I was on a group tour and stayed in this hotel twice. Two 1 nights stays, so I was in two different rooms. My first stay here was in room on the first floor quite near the reception area that did have good 'WiFi' access and the second stay was down a long corridor to a room on the ground floor that had no 'WiFi' access. It did not bother me not having 'WiFi' in my room as it was only for one night and it was easy to walk along to the main lounge area if you needed a signal. |I thought both rooms were really nice and I loved the views from both. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom although a little dark in both rooms was perfectly adequate. |The main lounge area was a very pleasant area to sit and chat with friends and enjoy a glass of wine while looking at the view. The restaurant was also nice, but pricey and I only ate here on my first stay, the second stay I ate in a nice little restaurant more or less across the road from the hotel. |It is quite a long walk along into the town, but not a problem if you're reasonably fit. I walked it during the day, but don't think I would be happy to walk on my own in the evening. |Overall I think this is a perfectly nice hotel and would happily stay here again if visiting the Torres Del Paine National Park.

This hotel is pretty close to the town of Puerta Natales. Barely a mile to the outskirts. It was a nice hotel with upscale accommodations for this area. Ate dinner and breakfast here. The food was very good. Breakfast spread was all you can eat buffet and was a very good spread with lots of options. Hot showers. Water stations are plentiful. Pool house has a nice view. Enjoyed the hot tub. Supposedly you have to make an appt for the hot tub but no one was there when we happened to try it out. They do limit it to 30 min sessions.

This is a wonderful accommodation in Puerto Natales. It has a very unique layout and modern design, yet, still we felt right at home. The rooms were very clean and organized and the staff were all wonderful. Especially, Javiela at the reception. She really went out of her way to help us with information and was very kind and patient with all of our inquiries. The restaurant served some of the best cuisine we've eaten in a long time. The Remota Lodge is perfectly situated just outside of town and was just a few minutes away with a quick Uber ride. There are multiple lounges in and around the main lobby area with outstanding views of the mountains and waterways. Will most certainly return to the Remota Lodge next time we pass through Puerto Natales.

What an innovative hotel. Architecturally quite distinctive (and hard to describe) and quite nice. Excellent food, and wonderfully comfortable beds. The pool and hot tub have gorgeous views. We definitely recommend this as the best appointed lodging in town. The only downside is that Remota is solid 1/2 hour walk from the”downtown”, so if you want to eat anywhere but the hotel, you’ll have a bit of a hike. But it’s flat, along the waterfront and actually very pleasant.

Such an interesting hotel! Beautifully designed to fit snug into the landscape, this hotel knows how to visually please and treat tourists. The breakfast buffet was delicious. The bartenders crafted wonderful drinks. Staff members were very helpful and gave great restaurant and experience suggestions.

Very comfortable and cozy property with lovely aesthetics. However, there are some basics missing that I would expect from a property at this price point (or a much lower price point). There should be a coffee maker and/or an induction water heater in the rooms. Also, I understand the need to be environmentally friendly, but not having bar soap available upon request isn’t acceptable (it’s interesting that every environmentally friendly measure taken by hotels also costs them less money). The beds and pillows were mediocre, but serviceable. The blinds were effective at keeping the light out during the long days this time of year.

Beautifully designed hotel with some flaws. Stayed here before and after an Antarctica expedition. Staff is nice. The design is pretty cool. I’ve heard the spa is great but didn’t get the chance to use it. Breakfast and dinner buffet was seemingly the same every night we were there. No WiFi in rooms. No tv in rooms. Which fine, it’s called remota BUT no AC in rooms. The mirror in the bathroom is the only mirror in the room and it’s half done on the wall. The other half is glass. So if someone turns the light on at night, the light is lighting up the room. We could barely get our door to lock and unlock with the key provided. We’d leave our front door open with the window for some cross air before bed. Rooms seem half done to me. Like concrete and untreated wood half done, the price doesn’t add up to me. Biggest issue I had was the tub/shower. I actually slipped (caught myself but went home bruised) because the tub is so high. Don’t want to deter you, it was a great trip and the hotel was great for what we needed, but just wanted to provide more info.
