At the Allison Inn & Spa, Siletz Chef Jack Strong Explores Native Food | Eater Portland

"In downtown Phoenix I noted that Strong spent two years as the chef at the Renaissance, part of a stretch of resort and hotel roles he took while moving between the Southwest and the Pacific Northwest." - Brooke Jackson-Glidden

EXCELLENCE IN SERVICE FROM THE ENTRY DOOR TO THE CONCIERGE LOUNGE….. I even had a fully signed birthday card and gift basket waiting for me when I arrived! Susie and Lee in the Lounge were AMAZING professionals. My husband and I always enjoy coming here, and it is always an awesome experience! I was a bit fatigued after flight delays and did not get the name of the wonderful young lady who checked us in - but she deserves a hats off too!!! Love it here.

This hotel is directly next to a building being built and construction happens all night long because of the heat. No one warned me. At least a heads up would have been nice so I could get east plugs. I got maybe 3 hours of sleep. The hotel staff didn’t seem to care and were very dismissive. The features in the room are a bit dated for a Renaissance although the dog lamp was cute. Room service comes as bag and paper container. What happened to nice room service?

Unfortunately, this did not meet my expectations for a four-star hotel. We booked two rooms, and both had a strong smell of mold or mildew coming from the bathrooms. The cleanliness was far below expectations — the carpets clearly hadn’t been vacuumed properly, with visible food remnants and a thick layer of dust between the beds and nightstands. We even found Cheetos crumbs left behind from previous guests. In one of the rooms, turning on the heat released a burning dust smell, and both rooms felt quite cramped.||That said, there were some positives. Valet service was excellent — very attentive and courteous. The Dust Cutter restaurant was a highlight with delicious food and friendly, attentive staff. The art in the lobby was beautiful, and having a Starbucks on-site was a convenient bonus. The location is also great, just a short walk to both Footprint Center and Chase Field.||One issue: at check-in, I was told I had a $25 restaurant credit per room per day, but this was never applied to my bill. I didn't notice until after checkout, and by then it was too late to resolve.||Overall, while some aspects of the hotel were impressive, the room conditions and misleading information at check-in made this a disappointing stay.

Great rooms. Comfy bed. My only two complaints are that the AC is noisy, sounding much like an old washing machine running all night, and that there is no real business center. Only a FedEx office that charges you by the minute to use their internet and computer. Disappointing since I’ve been to much lower cost hotels that don’t even charge by the minute to use their business center. It just seems avaricious. My job requires a lot of light weight travel so I don’t always bring my laptop. This is really too nice of a place not offer a business center. Other than that, great location and beautiful hotel. I would recommend.

A great hotel with everything you'd need on a stay. A nice lounge for breakfast, snack, and non-alcoholic drinks throughout the day for Members or if you pay. The location is great for restaurants and entertainment. About a ten minute walk from Chase Field. Parking is pricey but there are other options, if needed. You can find reasonable prices here, especially as a Bonvoy member. Highly recommended!

Very clean, centrally located to several great spots in Phoenix within walking distance. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The breakfast was good, the coffee could use more coffee and less water, but personal preference. Valet was very reasonable and attentive. Rooms were smaller but effient. Overall, good hotel.

We stayed overnight in route to Sedona. Everything about this hotel was great. ||Pros|Clean|Staff|Beautiful hotel from lobby to rooms |Bed slept well|Very modern ||Cons|We had a room with king bed. Room was a little small. However, I would definitely stay here again.

Banquet staff and their Encore AV team amazing. Above and beyond! Positive check-in experience and valet lead so personable. Rooms clean. They are a little old and the water pressure low. There is not much around the hotel so fine if you are back to back with work commitments or have a car but would not recommend as a destination hotel.
