Renato's - Review - Bristol City Centre - Bristol - The Infatuation

"King Street, or as we like to call it ‘Ye Olde Magaluf’, is Bristol’s historic pint capital and Renato’s is its pizza-slinging crown. It’s a lovable cross between a Brooklyn dive bar and an old-school boozer, complete with wooden beams and the kind of gloriously hideous carpet that makes you feel like you’ve fallen inside a kaleidoscope. At the downstairs counter, you can nab New York and Detroit-style pizzas by the slice, but in the name of optimal cheese consistency, you should order one of the freshly baked, whole deep-dish numbers—emphasis on deep." - Heidi Lauth Beasley

S tier roast potatoes and unreal deep dish pizza, love this place..! A very charming romantic retro dining area, lovely friendly attentive wait staff, and thanks for keeping “crodino spritz” - it’s so lush to be able to have a chic aperitivo but AF. 🍊🍕 let’s support this legendary local Bristol institution- FYI (not sponsored) you can get 50% off food on the app “first table”, that’s what we did.

I brought my younger sister on a trip to Bristol and absolutely had to show her Renato's as they have the best pizza in town (in my opinion), and she is a massive pizza lover. We ordered Streets of Detroit and Bull in the Heather with a side of the crispy potatoes - and boy did they deliver on the crispy factor! The food was delicious as always - I especially love the crispy cheese corners. Honestly I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. The reason for my review though is that my sister is a wheelchair user and I know that the restaurant is upstairs, so I emailed them to check if the downstairs is accessible and what the best time of day would be to come so it wasn't too busy. The staff were so lovely (special shout out to Rhys and Hannah) and made an exception in booking one of the tables downstairs and offering table service so we could order the full pizzas instead of by the slice. They also had someone meet us at the door and take us to the table inside, who then acted as our server even though that's not usually part of their role. I didn't remember to catch his name but he did such an amazing job and recommended some lovely mocktails! It was such a pleasure to have people be so considerate of my sisters needs! Its unfortunately not a given and we were so thankful (and full 😁).

best pizza place in Bristol I think. The staff are the loveliest and were so nice to us! The pizza was actually the tastiest thing ever and it fills you up. Menu is designed for one pizza to be shared between 2 people so make sure you go with people who are happy to share

A unique selection of Detroit style pizzas, all delicious and made fresh by Pizza is Lovely at Renato’s. Definitely worth visiting while they serve here! The staff and service was also very friendly and attentive. A small note to add, is that this was the only time we couldn’t finish our desserts as the Tiramisu and Mousse were vegan and unfortunately they weren’t close to our taste buds. If you are a dessert fan and not vegan, I would recommend having something from Bristol city centre.

Love this place. Not the cheapest, especially drinks, but it has a good vibe and you can grab NY and Detroit style pizza slices. Located in a great area of Bristol. Upstairs has more of a sit down restaurant, which is also good. The staff are mostly very good and there's frequently music and events on.

Fab! The food was fantastic and the setting was cosy and romantic. We had a lovely red wine with dinner and a really wonderful time without feeling rushed. Plus the ginger-haired waitress on Saturday night was funny and also laughed at all of our shit tipsy jokes. 10/10

We thoroughly enjoyed a vegan fest of Detroit Pizza, dough balls and a lovely elderflower presse! The atmosphere was perfect. We had a lovely window seat and enjoyed looking out into the busy street below full of people enjoying a warm summer evening. We had a lovely server who really looked after us.

We visited Renatos/Pizza is Lovely on Friday night. What a fantastic experience, the service was fantastic, Francesca our waitress was very attentive and so lovely. The food its self was incredible. We went specifically for the vegan pizza but were blown away with not only the pizza but the sides and desert too. The building is quite dated but is VERY clean. An incredible Bristol find, will definitely be visiting again!
