Yelp
hmmm.....what do you review here? The wine? The food? The grounds? I'll give a quick score for each, from my very limited trip, but the 3 stars is the average of the lot.
4-5 stars: The grounds were really nice. You can tell that weddings here are a big money maker. There were nice open areas that were very picturesque for weddings and bridal showers and the like. The indoor bar area was super spacious and well appointed. Also, they had a live band that was rocking for the most part. They had one singer that was intolerably extra, but the rest of the band was on it. The golf course looked really nice as well, and I would love to play a round and review that in the near future.
3 stars: The wine was decent. They were offering free samples as we walked up, and everything tasted good. I got another glass with my "food," and it was fine as well. (I understood the plastic cup for the sample, but a plastic cup, for a glass of wine with a meal, at a WINERY, feels extremely tacky to me. I read that they do it because of Covid, but I'm not sure if that's a good enough reason. Doesn't glass wear get washed in extremely hot water?)
1 star: The food was.....yeah, bad. Take a look at my picture to see what a $15 margherita pizza looks like. It was a piece of dough, with like 4 tomatoes, and literally the ESSENCE of basil. Is basil going for saffron prices or something? Why was there so little basil on my margherita pizza?! The only damn ingredients ARE cheese, tomatoes and BASIL. Just a complete whiff on that pizza. The misses got a meatball sub that looked and tasted like something you could get at wawa for half the price, and THAT had more basil on it than my pizza. She also got some unseasoned chips on the side. The food was pretty sad, and especially for the price. If that was a $5 flatbread, I would've eaten it and shut up, but these weren't happy hour prices. I don't see a reason I would eat at this place again, even if I were to find myself back here. Also, the service was very terse. First, we stood and waited at the hostess stand for a good 5 minutes before a SERVER came after to help us (not the hostess). Then, they tried to seat us at a table with no umbrella, directly in the blazing sun. When we asked for a different table, they tried to seat us at a "table" that was literally a wine barrel with an umbrella. How do you eat on that?! Why is that a seating option? MAYBE if all you're doing is drinking wine, it would be ok, but there was barely room to sit your plastic cup of wine down. Eating at the barrel would be impossible. THEN when we did get a normal table, our server came up with a distinct, "what do you want" vibe; no hi, no name, just "what do you want to drink?" The misses asked for a water, seeing as how it was 85 degrees out, and the servers reaction was as close to an eye roll as she could get without getting checked. After seeing the reaction, The Misses even said, "oh.....I guess water isn't a good choice?" The interaction had a very, "you're at a winery, get wine dummy" feel to it. I was about as blown away with the service as I was with the food.
To sum it up, if you want to take some pictures, play a round of golf, or sip some wine while listening to a live band, you might enjoy the day. But for gods sake, eat before you come here.
