"Tucked inside the Tlaquepaque Arts and Crafts Village find Rene, a French restaurant for nearly 45 years with lunch and dinner worthy of any special occasion. Short rib agnolotti, Chilean sea bass with tomato-saffron sauce, and Kvaroy Arctic salmon with pickled green tomato chili relish at dinner are just some of its star dishes." - Jamie Killin, Eater Staff

Service was incredible. Rib eye was good, not great. Lacked flavor and was very chewy. The truffle sauce helped. Medium was in between medium rare and medium, some bites were lukewarm. Bone marrow was amazing, salty but balanced well with bacon maple toppings. Mushrooms sides were delicious, rich in flavor.

First time in the area , visiting AZ. Found Rene and could not have enjoyed it more. Waiter was pleasant and attentive. Good great. Ate outside on patio. It’s a bit pricey so be prepared. Musis was a lovely Spotify playlist.

It was a belated Mother's Day dinner for my mama. My crazy busy schedule had to postpone her special day. She wanted The Hudson in Sedona but no reservations were available. My quick thinking along with my list of restaurants I want to try help make the decision easier. I always wanted to try Renee's in Sedona. Such a beautiful restaurant with French Mediterranean cuisine. I always say you can't go wrong with a French bistro or restaurant. We started of with two wine tastings. We settled on the En Route "Les Pommiers" by Far Niente, Russian River Valley 2022. You can never go wrong with Russian River Valley - one of my favorites I added to my collection at home. My mom must have been hungry. I told her to order whatever she wanted and don't look at the prices. Money was no object. She ordered the Chilean Sea Bass plate AND the Petite Filet plate. She almost finished both of them! Then she finished off with the flourless chocolate tart and vanilla ice cream. If you've ever seen how tiny she is you would wonder where did she put all that food. 😄 I ordered the Dover Sole a la Meunière. Very tasty. But, she was extremely happy The Hudson was not available because she really enjoyed her Mother's Day dinner at Rene. She said "You're spoiling me." She deserves it. She loves her red wine.

One of the best restaurants in Sedona. Excellent staff and service. Quieter than most resturants these days. Filet was cooked and seasoned just right. Definitely make reservations in advance.

Located in the charming Tlaquepaque Arts & Crafts Village, Rene offers an elevated dining experience with French and Mediterranean-inspired cuisine. The atmosphere is intimate and romantic, with courtyard seating, dim lighting, and soft jazz enhancing the experience. Every dish is thoughtfully crafted with high-quality ingredients. We started with the lobster bisque, rich and velvety with generous chunks of lobster, and the golden beet salad, bursting with fresh berries, toasted pecans, and creamy goat cheese was absolutely outstanding! The mushroom strudel was a perfect balance of crisp pastry and savory, umami-packed filling. For the main course, the 6oz prime beef tenderloin, wrapped in bacon and topped with white truffle butter, was cooked to perfection. It paired beautifully with roasted sweet potatoes and grilled pineapple. Dessert was a banana tart brûlée, a delicate balance of caramelized bananas, vanilla pastry cream, and salted caramel. Service was exceptional—attentive yet unobtrusive, with expert wine pairings and meticulous attention to detail. With an extensive wine list and craft cocktails like the Prickly Pear Margarita and Manhattan, René is perfect for a special occasion or an elegant night out. Highly recommended! Very special evening with J.S. 😘

This place is a wonderful, cozy treat your self restaurant. The staff were attentive and friendly. The ambiance was just right. And the food more than speaks for itself. The waiter we had gave us wonderful recommendations that made it all the more special.

We came for a small honeymoon and when we arrived our table had rose petals and a lovely card. They made us feel very special and we loved our food! Very romantic

We dined in here during our recent visit to Sedona. The restaurant is located in a historical site. It is in one part of the courtyard of a beautiful building. The architecture and vibe takes you to Spain. The table was set with rose petals and a handwritten card. It was such a nice touch to our special evening. The service was amazing, the food was tasty. Our server helped us with our dietary needs and pointed to us to items we could have.

Yelp
Francisco greeted us and was super friendly and accommodating. We moved our reservation up an hour and he made it happen, love that type of Customer Service. Keenan our Server is Super nice, knowledgeable and thorough. We stopped by for Lunch ordered Beet Salad and French Onion Soup. Beet Salad is huge, definitely shareable. It is fantastic, only Con is I wish it had a few more Beets in the Salad. The French Onion Soup is Spot On, SUPERB! Keenan is so on top of it, excellent CS.

Yelp
We stumbled upon Rene while exploring the Tlaquepaque complex. Of our 5 days in Sedona, THIS is the restaurant my wife recommended to others; and believe me - we ate at some nice places. The Monte Cristo was expensive ($30), but was enough for two. The Beet Salad was more reasonable ($22) and large. Refills on the Arnold Plamers were free. No view, but the décor and setting were appreciated. Free nearby parking.

Yelp
I had a hard time rating this restaurant. To start off with, service was really good. Our server was attentive and friendly. We sat outside and the ambiance of Telaquepaque is always nice. On to the food. Our appetizers were really good. We got the bruchetta board with Baked Apple w/ Foie Gras Mousse, House Smoked Salmon and Spanich Iberico Ham w/Brie. All delicious! We also ordered the Bacon Wrapped Fig w/Goat Cheese. Also delicious! Now my entree, the Cassoulet was just ok considering the price and restaurant. Tasted like something I could make at home. Overall I did enjoy the place and would come back.

Yelp
Our recent visit to this charming restaurant nestled in the beautiful Tlaquepaque shops was a delightful experience from start to finish. Upon arrival, we were greeted warmly and shown to a lovely table, setting the tone for an enjoyable evening. Our server was wonderful--attentive, knowledgeable, and detailed. He read us all the specials, ensured our drinks were refilled throughout the dinner, and took care of the little things, like packing up our leftovers at the end of the meal. We started with the escargot, which seems to have been upgraded from years ago based on old reviews, now featuring a delicious, fluffy pastry crust on top. We also enjoyed the noble bread with three dipping sauces: a flavorful olive oil, a rich olive spread, and a vibrant pesto. For entrees, I had the short rib on sweet potato mash. The meat was tender and fell off the bone, though it could benefit from a bit more flavor on the actual meat (salt or herbs?) if it would not have been for the sauce on top it was somewhat bland without it. I also ordered a side of sherry mushrooms which was excellent. My son ordered the chicken Francese, which seemed more like a Piccata with its inclusion of capers, it was delicious and the green beans served alongside were well-prepared and tasty. The wine selection was decent, and my glass of wine was enjoyable. We concluded our meal with a crème brûlée, which was torched tableside--a delightful and engaging touch. Overall, we had a great dinner in a beautiful setting. Despite a few minor tweaks needed in some dishes, the ambiance and quality of service made it a memorable experience.

Yelp
This place says they allow kids (even if they are quiet). But then if you say you're bringing a kid they will convince you to cancel your reservations. NO kids allowed!

Yelp
Delicious food and good service in a romantic setting. We had the beef tartare, lamb chops, and sea bass - all were delicious. Highly recommend Rene for a date night. Something to note for those visiting the first time: don't show up early if your reservation is past 6pm. We had a 7:45pm reservation and showed up at 6:30pm thinking we'd browse the shops, not realizing that most of the shops close at 6pm.

Angel C.

Yelp
Top Notch! Food and experience were incredible. Wait staff was very attentive and exceptional. Cannot wait to come back.

Victoria A.

Yelp
Great service, delicious food, and great atmosphere. The short rib was fall off the bone tender and absolutely delicious! The Chilean Sea Bass is made different each day and it was made to perfection. The sauces were a great compliment.

Yelp
It was our first time dining at Rene, and it was excellent end-to-end. We arrived for an early dinner on a rainy night. The ambiance is romantic and has a European feeling. It's set in a courtyard under an archway patio with a large wood door. We each started with the Rabbit Hole Rye Old Fashioned, which were classic well-balanced cocktails--strong and to the point! The service was friendly, attentive, and detail-oriented. We told our server we are vegetarians / pescatarians and we don't eat meat, and he proactively let us know there was chicken stock in one of the soups and beef broth in the other--without us needing to ask about that! I appreciated that. We ordered the grilled Noble Bread (comes with olive oil, pesto, and olive tapenade), and it was just "Ok" and kind of "meh" for me. I'd say: skip it, and save room to order an additional appetizer or side dish (like the hot crab & artichoke dip app or the side of asparagus gribiche). The organic beet salad with arugula, goat cheese, candied pecans, apple slices, and pomegranate seeds was tasty and delicious. I ordered Cacio e Pepe pasta. It was creamy, flavorful, and decadent. I appreciated that the pasta was fresh and house-made. It was a decent-size portion too (so I could share a few bites with my husband). He loved it! My husband ordered the Chilean sea bass, which was presented on a plate with four sauces. The fish was excellent, and prepared perfectly. We both loved the spicy sauce! (Our waiter was exceptional! He remembered that we don't eat meat, and he let us know the churros dessert was cooked in duck fat.) So, to close out the meal, for dessert we ordered the flourless chocolate cake, which comes with a scoop of gelato and whipped cream. It was perfect--rich, chocolate-y, and not overly sweet.

Yelp
My husband and I walked up without a reservation on Saturday night at 7pm. They were busy but were so nice to us. I expected an hour wait at least, but they seated us immediately in their bar area. My husband and I both agreed it was one of our best meals ever. We each had the petit filet. I had a side of truffle risotto and my husband had the spinach, artichoke and feta. For desert we shared a banana crème brûlée tart. It was wonderful. Loved this place and will be back next time we are in Sedona.

Yelp
On a recent trip to Sedona we had the pleasure of dining twice at Rene. The first time we stopped in for a cocktail. Then decided to order the stuffed dates and one of the toast appetizer. The cocktails, the food, and the service were amazing. I believe our servers name was Beto. He was awesome. It was so good we wanted to try dinner, but were unable to get reservations, so we changed our schedule the next day and went for a late lunch. The young man that took care of our table was very nice and welcoming and provided attentive service. Again the food, service, and cocktails were amazing. I had a dish that was described as Spanish cassoulet. Creaming beans with bits of sausages, a grilled sausage and a grilled chicken breast. It was delicious! I could not eat it all, so I enjoyed it again later that evening. I highly recommend it. The beet salad was presented beautifully and I'm told was very tasty. Five of us dined together and all raved about their meals. There is ample parking. Seating is available inside or on the patio. Make a reservation in advance and treat yourself to a wonderful experience!

Yelp
Everything we had at Rene was hands down the best meal we had in Sedona! We got the ribeye special and cacio e pepe. Both were absolutely amazing but the truffle risotto was the best thing we had though. We were seated outside with blankets and heaters. The servers checked up on us multiple times. We had our small dog with us and they were fine with having him sleep on my lap. Don't forget to make your reservations on open table!

Troy S.

Yelp
Whole experience was amazing from the bottle of Malbec to the beef Wellington and scalloped potatoes, all was on point along with the attentive service.

Yelp
Excellent fast service. Beautiful venue that is in one of the oldest buildings of this plaza. This restaurant is serving French cuisine and they do an excellent job. Francisco- our server was very knowledgeable and friendly

Yelp
Came to dine here while in Sedona for Labor Day weekend. We were celebrating our anniversary, so they had a little surprise for us when we got seated, which was a nice touch! The restaurant is located in the Tlaquepaque village, which is a nice area to walk around in, and see some great local shops. We were very pleased with the food and the service here, but I did feel it was slightly overpriced. I did however enjoy all my food, especially the bread starter, the meatballs and the halibut dish I got which was on special for the night. The only thing I did not enjoy was the octopus starter, which I felt was just way too salty for my taste. They also brought out a little chocolate cake for us as well to celebrate, which was very nice. It's the flourless chocolate cake, and was delicious. The cocktails were also good here, and definitely on the stronger side! If you are in Sedona, and want to enjoy a nice meal for a special occasion, I would recommend it.

Yelp
Was visiting Sedona for a weekend of camping and outdoor activities and stumbled upon Tlaquepaque village to do some shopping. Came to Rene for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. We were seated in the outdoor patio within moments of arriving. The service we received at this restaurant was not the best. Our server took a while to greet our table. When he arrived, it was clear that he had just been eating and trying to finish the last bit of food in his mouth. Didn't quite make the best impression. Regardless, the food here was fantastic. I ordered the keto crusted chicken, which came with an assortment of veggies, fruit, and sides. It was a hearty and nutritious meal and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Yelp
We celebrated our 33rd anniversary here. From the moment we walked in, we felt valued. The staff had written us a card congratulating us on our special event. Our waiter, Anthony N., scattered rose petals over our table and congratulated us personally. Every item on the menu looked amazing and our waiter provided a detailed verbal description of popular items. The Mediterranean Burrata Salad was beautifully presented and delicious beyond compare. The cheese was delicate with exquisite flavor. The figs were sweet and the tomatoes and avocados were fresh and flavorful. We shared the salad and both of us were well satisfied but not too full for our entrees. We each enjoyed the Chilean Sea Bass. The fish was flaky and flavorful with it's panko crust. Neither of us were fans of the caviar which we easily pushed to the side. At the end of our meal, we were pleasantly surprised when our waiter Anthony shared they had prepared something special for our anniversary: tiramisu. This high-end restaurant does not offer a veteran's discount but the dining experience although pricey is worth it.

Madelynn F.

Yelp
We made a reservation for a celebration dinner here and I loved the ambiance and the set up. The rose petals and handwritten note was a very nice touch! I absolutely loved the private booths with mirrors. The service was excellent. Our waitress was very attentive to our table. I had the cacio e pepe with a side of chicken (the pasta was so good! A Nice creamy white sauce. But the chicken was a little pink in the middle and I only ate half when I got to that part) and then we had the ribeye with duck fat fries (the steak was a little over cooked (ordered medium rare) but fries were sooo good!) and dessert they gave us a chocolate torta to celebrate.

Angel R.

Yelp
Oh my goodness ! Wonderful location , ambiance is amazing and service was impeccable. After hiking for the whole day , we changed in the car so that we could enjoy a nice dinner on our last night in Sedona . Everything was perfect !

Melissa M.

Yelp
My husband & I had dinner here with our family after our wedding ceremony and it was incredible. The staff was so nice and patient with us as we arrived almost as they were closing. The food was amazing and the ambience was perfect. Highly recommend this place! Will definitely be back.

Dexter Z.

Yelp
I have to agree service is pretty strong here! This is a tough 3.5, I enjoyed it and it is a decent spot in Sedona to enjoy. The food was good, I'm not sure that it is great.... Pricing is pretty steep but that is too be expected as it is Sedona proper and a decent French menu.

Lori D.

Yelp
Good service! Thank you Tom! Food was delicious. Great place, great atmosphere. Book your reservation through Open table.

Steve D.

Yelp
"Amazing" This was our favourite spot when compared to Mariposa or Elote. Best to have dinner outside on the patio. Inside seemed small but outside very open and refreshing. The patio was sorta like French country and Mariposa reminds me of Vegas (albeit with a terrific view) We only ordered Noble bread and escargot for appetizers. The bread was ok (sorta crispy triangles) but the dipping sauces including pesto were very refreshing. Escargot was perfect in every way. For the mains we had the Chilean sea bass and also the salmon dish (can't recall the name, maybe Baked Salmon with Crispy Filo) Each was perfect. The salmon was sorta cooked like a wellington in two pieces - that is a flaky crust pocket that contains the salmon and some spinach and other stuff while the plate had a nice sauce that seemed tomato based. So good. We were full but decided to order the Tiramisu. We don't really like Tiramisu and figured we would have one bite only. But wow was this so terrific we consumed the whole thing. What was cool is the portion was small and was placed in a mini garden pot. For sure would return.

Jacques R.

Yelp
Came to this place recommended by a friend for a 30th anniversary on our trip and it was quite good. Ambiance at 8 pm on December, null, try to get there earlier (I think) if you want more people there... Service was on the good side and courteous. Wine list needs improvement as well as the general menu! This is not a french restaurant, so beware of that.... Had a hard time deciding what to eat, so look at the current menu before coming here. I had the soup of the day, a mushroom soup that was quite good, needed salt which I don't mind and was tasty. We also ordered the bread that was good but maybe pricey... My wife had a pasta she returned (caccio e peppe) and had the putanesca that was really top notch!!! Very well made, balanced and tasty.... I had the duck, it was on the ok plus side, the sides I would have changed them... more traditional french would have done. For desert they offered us a flourless cake that was very good. As said, the wine list very poor and overpriced! Had an IPA from Colorado that was very good!!! All in all, ok plus!

Yelp
There are times that I visit Rene where the experience is really good, and times when it is not great. Because of that inconsistency, three stars is about all I can give it. On almost every visit, I have been underwhelmed by the arrival experience. The person working the host stand, who has been different each time, isn't very welcoming. I understand that you get a lot of tourists, but it felt like we were a bother on several occasions. On our most recent visit, our server was quite pleasant and attentive, so kudos to her. Even when we had an issue, she tried to fix the problem in a friendly manner. The food was great on our last trip, which was a step up from last year. The mushroom strudel seems much larger than prior visits--the outer pastry was nice and crisp, a good contrast to the sautéed mushrooms. The seasonal salad with apples was a special of the day and deliciously fresh. The cacio e pepe was just perfect--creamy with a generous amount of pepper with al dente pasta. Cocktails were a little off--again, inconsistent from drink to drink. If I were rating on food and our server alone, I would bump up this review by one star, but I would like to see more consistency in the overall experience.

Jim J.

Yelp
Tried the Urban Burrito with chorizo, potatoes, eggs with Ranchera sauce. And the Kilt Lifter Scottish Brown Ale by Four Peaks was an excellent accompaniment.

Yelp
Again Rene' came through with it's amazing dishes that will knock your socks off!! The seafood tower for 2 is a must we had it as an appetizer during lunch hats off to the chef and came back in the evening for dinner only to finish our appetites off with the Tomahawk Steak for 2 carved table side which is a show all by itself. The staff was amazing and very knowledgeable about wines etc as well. When in Sedona Rene is a must see and eat to add to you vacation!!

Yelp
My wife took me to Rene's for my birthday dinner a few days ago, this is our second time there although it has been about a year. First let me say our server was very professional and accommodating and the card and flower petals were a nice touch. We asked to move to a different table as we were a late reservation (8:15, they close at 9), our table was very large, and we were sitting across a football field from another. We both ordered the ribeye at $82 each. I cannot express how disappointed we were when we received our thin little steaks. I know what a ribeye goes for in the area and for around $20 more per steak we expected to be overwhelmed, not underwhelmed. Also, the steaks lacked seasoning and were over-charred. But the reason I am taking the time to write the review is how badly service fell apart at the end. My wife left the table when we finished our entree... while she was away the server brought out a complimentary birthday dessert with a lit candle...while I was sitting by myself, Did she expect me to sing happy birthday to myself? I cannot understand how she thought this was appropriate and why she didn't wait for my wife. But as soon as we had one bite she returned and dropped the check. As the last table, and understand we were not camping, it became obvious we were being rushed. The manager, who had been walking the floor dressed in professional attire, came out of the kitchen in a t-shirt and walked across the room. The server assistant laid a tablecloth on the table next to us and silverware napkins and glassware on a table across from us, obviously preparing to reset our table. Now in a lower-end restaurant, this type of discourteous service is expected, but at Rene's for a special occasion, this was unacceptable. This will be our last visit

Tom H.

Yelp
Absolutely outstanding. One of the best meals I've had in my 60 plus year. Service was incredible. The atmosphere is perfect for a quiet romantic meal. I had the Sea Bass which was perfectly cooked and was a very large piece and served with scallops. My wife had the Dover Sole which was served tableside and was also Very well prepared. Rene is everything and more than would expect from this level of a restaurant.

Shannon M.

Yelp
This restaurant had some of the worst service and worst food I have had in the past several years. It took 40 minutes to get bread to our table, and they forgot the pesto, which was the main part that came with the bread. The dish with sausage and beans was by far the worst sausage I have had in my life. If I had walked to a grocery store and purchased store brand sausage and boiled it for 6 hours, it probably would have been tastier and faster than the food at Rene. If anyone ever asks me what to do in Sedona, I will just make sure they do NOT go to this horrible restaurant with gross food and bad service. I would give it O stars if I could. Update to the incredibly passive aggressive response from the owner blaming me for the waiter's incompetence: 1. The waiter was alerted that there was one nut allergy at the table. 2. It was the other person that ordered the bread with pesto. The waiter came back and confirmed that there were no nuts in the bread (40 minutes after I initially ordered the dish). Then the waiter brought out the dish with no pesto after telling me that was the best part of the dish. 3. My wine was brought to my table 45 minutes after ordered it. 4. My fries were freezing cold and stale, but I was so hungry by the time they arrived that I ate them anyways since I had already been waiting for longer than you should keep a guest waiting for a sandwich. 5. If you are going to be defensive instead of apologizing for my clearly horrible experience at your restaurant, I'm glad you did it in a public space where potential patrons can see the way you treat guests paying for your $24 sandwiches. 6. The waiter was altered the the allergy didn't include pine nuts, which he seemed to understand perfectly well because he served a sandwich with pine nuts on it and told the nut allergy person it would be safe to taste. For the price point you have, your service needs to be exceptional since the food clearly isn't. You need an attitude check.

Yelp
Rene's , a Tlaquepaque is one of my Favorite places to eat when I come to Sedona and usually for my birthday The menu had recently changed, and I had a wonderful meal and one not so tasty. Please update your online menu to reflect your current offerings Overall, this is still one of my favorite places, even if I don't like all the dishes . There's something special about this little place.

Tony M.

Yelp
We had a good experience at Rene's. The ambiance was nice and comfortable. Our server Yeshua was awesome and took care of us well as well as the other staff members. The food was good, toasted bread appetizer with three dips, French onion soup was spectacular, the sea bass special was delicious. I personally could have done without the fries and crab dip, (not for my pallet). The triple gelato and the cream brûlée (table side) were awesome. One of the desserts was complimentary for our wedding anniversary. I would go there again for the lamb chops, the table next to us had them and claimed deliciousness. And again I would go there to tried the dried age steaks.

Deisy R.

Yelp
The atmosphere here was fantastic! We sat outdoors and quite enjoyed it. We had the Spanish meatballs, escargot and octopus tapas. They were all so delicious, especially the octopus tapa it was so incredibly tender 10/10. Good service!

Phillip S.

Yelp
Really 4 3/4. Great meal. Best lamb chop I ever had. Great service. My wife loved her vegan mushroom strudel and desert (flourless chocolate cake) was great. The only demerit, I did not love the steak tartar appetizer. Though after two gin martinis and a bottle of wine, what can be bad We will totally come back.

George U.

Yelp
What a fantastic evening celebrating Thanksgiving with my wife. A true blessing. We had reservations and arrived about 15 minutes early and the wonderful hostess was able to seat us. Howard was our server and quite professional and thorough. We enjoyed each other's company and started with a few custom tequilla drinks, some fantastic bread and escargot which were all delicious. We decided on the prefix Thanksgiving menu pairing which was extraordinary and started with the butternut squash soup with a strudel topping and OMG was that amazing. Our server Howard was very attentive and the assistance from other staff members is certainly worthy of mention as they were exemplary. The turkey dinner was so tasty as was the dessert was great as well. Of course the coffee was very good as well. Highly recommended.

Libby N.

Yelp
Absolutely lovely setting either outside or inside for a bit more formal setting. Food excellent, waitstaff superb, ambience romantic and nice and quiet. We ate there twice and impressed both times.

Sylvia M.

Yelp
We chose this restaurant based on reviews. Based on our experience, I would not recommend this place. We started with a shrimp appetizer that was good but it didn't stand out above any other shrimp scampi we've had at other places. The restaurant was nice, clean, and had comfortable seating. We were seated at a table for two and I didn't really like the table. It was more of a rectangular shape, versus square. It made me feel like I was sitting really far from my husband. Somewhere, I read that this was one of the most romantic restaurants, but I disagree! My husband ordered the sea bass special and I ordered the gnocchi dish. My husband really enjoyed his sea bass but I was really disappointed with the gnocchi. The gnocchi lacked seasoning and tasted greasy. The spinach and sausage with it was good but I didn't particularly care for the sauce that it was served in. Regarding our waiter, he didn't provide excellent service that you'd expect from a high dollar restaurant. He seemed busy talking to other employees and flirting with the hostess. He was very obvious with his gestures toward the hostess and would put his arm around her! As we were leaving, the hostess was outside lightly heaters and our waiter was out there. Before he returned inside, he told the hostess, thank you baby!" On the opposite end, there was another woman employee, who was very attentive in topping off our water. I noticed that any time dishes needed to be cleared, our waiter would call her, hand her all the dirty dishes to carry and then follow behind her, and he was empty handed! It bothered me the way he treated her with such disrespect! Simply based on this waiter's actions, we will never return and would not recommend this place to anyone. I grew up in a Hispanic community and the type of behavior that our Hispanic waiter displayed is unacceptable! I will not support this kind of behavior! Management needs to address this!

Gregory B.

Yelp
If you are looking for a romantic, fine dining experience in Sedona, this will suit you fine! As I read the Yelp reviews, there is a bit of comparing "this Rene" to the "old Rene", and frankly that doesn't matter to me. I was just looking for a nice meal where I could eat with my dog, and this did it for me. I had made a reservation on OpenTable and called the restaurant at 2pm that day to make sure they knew I had the dog and needed to sit on the patio. Person on phone said "no problem, will take care of that for you". When I showed up for my reservation, front desk had no reservation for me, nor any record I had called. No mind, they had a patio table and we were seated. Plenty of parking around Tlaquepaque Center, so no worries. Patio is nice, located inside a courtyard at the center. Heaters make it cozy and feels like you are inside. Wine list is great and I found a 1/2 bottle of 2017 Patz & Hall Pinot Noir, one of my favs. Great start. Menu is not extensive, but includes something for everyone, except maybe the kids. I started with a Tuna Crudo, really nice and fresh. I also wanted to try the Mediterranean octopus, as there are some other Spanish dishes that look interesting. For my main, I went for the crusted Chilean Sea Bass and substituted out the Catalan Spinach for the potato side. Sea Bass was cooked perfectly, nice crunch from the panko without detracting from the delicate flavor of the bass. Really enjoyed this dish. For dessert, tried the key lime pie. It was great. Service was right on, helpful and timely but not obtrusive. Staff was very friendly to my dog, as were a number of the patrons coming and going. Overall, a wonderful evening, great food and wine. I'll be back here for sure

Yelp
Food, service and vibes were immaculate. We had the crab artichoke dip, gnocchi, braised short rib, fries, and a glass of sauv to tie it up.

Yelp
A dinner to remember!! Absolutely wonderful from start to finish. A must visit when in Sedona. We dined under the stars in a beautiful setting with fantastic service and delicious food that was well executed all around - from the drinks to the seasonal specials. The four of us decided to order a variety of dishes and share it all family style. The pork and lasagna were stand outs but honestly everything was done exceptionally well. Nicely seasoned and eye catching presentation. I can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Food was ok. Great ambience. Our host was very nice.. however the other host are not friendly. This was my first visit here which didn't give a great impression about the staff. Not returning in this restaurant. There are other restaurants I can enjoy!

Yelp
We had the pleasure of having our Valentine's dinner a night earlier at Rene's. Approaching the restaurant feels like we're strolling through a beautiful old world street with tiled arches and quaint courtyards, definitely a romantic venue. The staff are wonderful, polite and warmly professional. We (4 of us) started out with the 'grilled noble bread,' and 'duck-fat fried french fries.' The bread was served with 3 smudge dips, warm olive oil & aged balsamic vinegar (the best), pesto, and olive tapenade. We liked both that much, we ordered another serving of each. We all decided on 4 varied entrees, the Chilean Seabass & lobster tail, Porter House Steak, Mushroom Strudel, and the Rib Eye. Of course we discretely had to try a little of everyone's dishes, each accompanied with delicious sides of creamy truffle risotto, buttery mashed potato, and catalan spinach! Now, when we appreciate our food, we tend to eat a little noisy...so keeping what little mask of classiness we had left, was quickly coming undone. We closed our dining experience with the carrot cake...This we shared or we'd have to be rolled out the building! The carrot cake reminded us of a flavor from our past, spice steamed pudding topped with whipped cream cheese and vanilla gelato. Incredible meal, incredible service! Hats off to the Chef!

Yelp
As soon as we were seated we overheard the couple next to us ask a server if someone could find their table server she replied" ok, oh wait it's me." They seemed short staffed. Our server was nice but seemed to have many tables he was covering too. This was our anniversary dinner and noted on reservation but it was never mentioned that could've have been a nice touch. Now the food.. I must say my lasagna was amazing but Hubby's plate was scary when it arrived. We wanted to love this place maybe it was an off night‍

Yelp
Great service from Lily. I felt attended to from the time I came in until I left. The whole staff is attentive and great. Even the manger stopped by. Had a bunch of appetizers like the French onion soup, the crab and artichoke dip, the shrimp appetizer, the bread plate, and tiramisuI was so happy with all the flavors paired and the presentation. It's been a while since I've stopped in, but i will be back.

Yelp
The seafood was perfectly prepared. The sea bass was out of this world. The recommended wine pairings were spot on.

Yelp
Food is good. Portions, well if you're really hungry or with a big group, skip this place. This is more fine dining. Place is on the smaller side.

Yelp
A very special dining experience! The food is exquisite and unique for the area. The service is wonderful; pleasant, professional and attentive, while honoring your experience, never rushed. The ambiance of the space is comfortably high-end; it feels very fancy without being stuffy or stiff. I have eaten here a handful of times and the experience is consistently delightful! Highly recommend!

Yelp
This is one of the best places in Sedona for a fine dining, romantic dinner. We started with the Hot Crab & Artichoke Dip, OMG it was delicious... (I would definitely come back and get it again) For dinner my wife went with the Seared Diver Scallops & Osetra Caviar along with the Truffled Risotto as the side dish. Scallops were cooked perfectly and the Risotto was fantastic. (she even shared a little with me) I was wanting a great steak and ordered the 22 oz Porterhouse with a side of Duck-fat fries. OMG I was in heaven. The steak came out cooked a perfect mediun-rare and was one of best tasting steaks that I ever had. The Duck-fat fries, were Duck-fat fries (enough said)

Yelp
From the moment we walked in, the ambience, the aromas and the service was top notch. I ordered the Mushroom Strudel, my husband ordered the Prime Ribeye. Both orders were absolutely delicious. My strudel was mouthwatering and the puff pastry was butter and exactly what I had anticipated it would taste like. the Ribeye was perfect and succulent. We had the rice risotto to complement both our dishes. I would highly recommend Renes if you want to experience fine dining. As a side note, our server and their assistants never let our water goblets go empty and they were very helpful and well mannered. Make this a must restaurant to visit as they will deliver!
