"Crowds come to this homey little restaurant for its extensive menu featuring some usual and unusual favorites: spring rolls, pork or tofu satay, steamed rice cakes (banh beo chen), rare beef and vinegar salad, noodle soups, and stir-fry dishes. This is the place to try the hard-to-find bun mam, a noodle soup that’s funky from fermented fish and also contains shrimp, squid, and pork belly. Often called “Vietnamese gumbo,” the smell might be a bit pungent, but the broth flavor is at once savory, sweet, and just a little sour." - Jay Friedman

Had an incredible dining experience here. Small and unassuming from the outside, but felt very welcoming and warm inside. Service was awesome. Food was spectacular, some of the best Vietnamese cuisine I've had in the Seattle area. Worth adventuring down to Renton for and I will be back!

Google
Incredible Vietnamese food in a cozy atmosphere with good service. The veggie pho was not vegetarian but there is a whole "tofu" section with a variety of vegetarian dishes! I got the grilled tofu platter, which is like a wrap your own spring roll platter, as it comes with rice paper and warm water. So fresh and tasty. My husband got a really nice beef soup. There is a little parking lot but you can park in the garage or on the street nearby. The tables are a little close together, so you will probably hear your neighbor's conversation. Prices are quite reasonable considering how large the portions are! I would definitely come back.

Google
Banh Beo Chen so yummy and Vietnamese authentic, you must try, don't forget to have them with the sauce. Got the Canh Chua fish soup was pretty good too. Other dishes we ordered are just ok like the tomatoes tofu, our beef were a little black, they grilled them too long I guess. The place is like a single house, they have limited number of tables inside, you might expect some waiting time to be served. Parking on the street side if you can't find one in the lots. Overall experience is good, will come back to try other dishes

Google
This restaurant is packed. We went here as they opened, and there were already four tables of customers. Each dish tastes delicious. The soup is rich, full of flavors. Meat and noodle portion are generous. Will come again for other dishes.

Great spot for Vietnamese food. The Bun Bo Hue was so good! The broth was excellent. The other bun dish was so tasty and delicious. We got the bun beo after we got our entrees so I cannot say I enjoyed it, although it was good. It probably would have been better had we received it before our entrees. I was already full by the time it arrived. So maybe if you want bun beo, order it first thing. The fried tofu we got was bland. I wouldn’t order it again. I would definitely be back for the other dishes that were available and to try other options in the menu.

Amazing food, one of the best pho restaurants I have been to. Service wasn’t great but the food is so great I don’t even care about service.

Google
Such authentic delicious Vietnamese food I haven’t been able to find. We ordered 4 dishes for 3 people and had some leftover of the egg crepe pancake. Otherwise all was devoured. My Vietnamese friend recommended this spot. Don’t let it’s older small renovated house look fool you. Really polite service, parking on the lot albeit limited but street parking is plentiful. If you’re in Renton, go here~

Google
Outstanding. I don't really know what else to say. This is one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in the Seattle area that I've had in a long time. Every dish we ordered was delicious. But my absolute favorite is the shrimp egg tofu noodle soup. OMG was this good. Adding the basil and shredded veggies and lime just makes this so good.

Yelp
TL;DR: Understated Viet eatery in Renton with delicious food, solid portions for a dinner, sharp prices, and a cozy interior vibe. Highly recommend for hearty Viet cuisine on the Eastside. Renton Bistro has been the OG Viet restaurant in Renton for a long time, and it has survived that long because of its tasty and large menu of Viet dishes. You can get pho, broken rice, or even some specialities like Shaking Beef. We got the pork chop broken rice, beef stew, and the egg roll. The egg roll was different but really good; it's not the flaky texture but a heartier deep fried texture that was really good. The broken rice with pork is one of their standard dishes to get: rice, fried egg, pork chop, and some miscellaneous sides. The beef stew had big chunks of beef, carrot, and egg noodle in what tasted like pho broth but with the taste notes of the beef. All in all, it was very good. That said it didn't compare to Viet restaurants you could find in San Jose; for example the beef stew there wouldn't just be the pho broth with beef. The seating area is quaint and cozy. Lots of wood textures and solid wood tables and chairs. Lots of light too through the large windows! The downsides are the parking (limited and tight parking lot, but there's ample street parking), limited seating, and slow service when busy (30 minute+ wait for food). The last callout is well understood by them too; they post a warning about this on their door. If you go outside of core lunch and dinner hours though, there isn't any wait.

Yelp
I love me a good rice plate and this spot has one of the best rice plates, I've personally had! We got here early morning by brunch time lol We got a table right away. I can only speak for my food and my girlfriends, but the portions aligned well for the price we paid at the time of our visit. It's really hard to mess up a good rice plate, and this spot hit all the marks for me. A good amount of rice, the egg was cooked just right, and the amount of protein was good enough for me (although I wouldn't mind more lol). Although I will add, the chilly oil they had was so spicy. I love spicy, but i almost couldn't handle the batch I had haha Overall, the restaurant looked very well kept, and would be a nice spot to enjoy dinner with the family or even take a partner on a date. We would definitely come back here again.

Yelp
I heard there was a banh beo restaurant in Washington and had to check it out when I flew into SeaTac! It's located near a Safeway in the corner of S 3rd St and Shattuck Ave S in Renton. There is a small parking lot with stalls for customers to park at. At first, when we were looking for the restaurant, we thought we were pulling up into someone's property because the restaurant looks as if it was someone's house! Caught us off guard but thankfully, it was the actual restaurant. My boyfriend looooves banh beo chen (steamed rice cakes) and the fact that there was a place in Washington that made this was amazing! We obviously had to order that. It came with 10 little dishes filled with a ton of toppings. The one thing that wasn't there was the dried shrimp, booo. But that's okay as the dish was soooo good with their special fish sauce mixture that did have the dried shrimp (or was it anchovies?) to give it a very nice umami flavor! Definitely a hit. I also order their Pho Special - Pho Dac Biet) as I was craving a soup noodle dish. There was sooo much meat in the pho, wow! The broth had a really good initial taste, making me want more. The broth had a "cleanish" flavor with a lot of oil (peep at pic), but there was a light meat flavor coming from it. But over time as I continued eating, the flavor dulled a bit. It may have because all the flavor of the other foods we ordered overpowered the flavor of the pho. My boyfriend ordered their Combo Bun - Bun Dac Biet that came with vermicelli rice noodles and a combination of grilled pork, deep fried egg roll, pork sausage patty, and grilled shrimp patty. Wow, this was amazing as well. I actually couldn't stop eating his food because of all the different proteins he had LOL. The fish sauce was also a winner for complementing the food soooo well. In addition to the food, we also ordered a Singha Thai beer which my boyfriend's never tried, and a Thai Iced Tea. A bit too sweet for me but great in washing down all the salty foods with sweet. Overall, definitely a place to check out if you're ever in the Renton area. The food here did not disappoint us, and we will definitely be back for more of their banh beo and other dishes as their menu was quite vast!

Will J.

Yelp
The Renton Bistro is one of our favorites Vietnamese spots for seriously good grub! The menu is vast and full of flavorful options. We love the Salad rolls, vermicelli bowls, and pho! The portions are generous and we always seem to have food to go with our bellies full! If you're searching for a place to try or an absolute staple for those that know, this is a wonderful option in the Renton area.

Sandra L.

Yelp
Love this restaurant! My rating is 4.5 because of the noise. Food is so tasty! Took a friend we hadn't seen in years for Vietnamese cuisine. She was born and grew up in Vietnam. We ordered Bahn xeo (Vietnamese sizzling crepe with shrimp, pork and bean sprouts. It comes with fresh greens lettuce and fresh herbs). We also ordered shrimp fresh rolls wrapped with rice paper, bean sprouts & veggies. My husband order Goi Ga ( chicken salad with tons of shredded chicken, cabbage, bean sprouts, carrots with a sweet and spicy vinaigrette). He absolutely loved it and would definitely order it again. My friend thought the dishes were legit Vietnamese cuisine. Service was good, and you can either park on the street ( plenty of street parking) or in their small parking lot. Food is reasonably priced for what you get. I would definitely recommend this restaurant. Only draw back for me is that it is quite noisy and difficult to have a good conversation

Sarah S.

Yelp
We came in last night for a wonderful meal. They are understaffed at the moment but their food is so worth the wait and we enjoyed excellent service! We didn't have to wait too long, but we were also a party of two. We enjoyed the following: Spring rolls with peanut sauce Fish sauce wing (Canh Ga Nuoc Man)-these wings were spicy, sticky, savory and wonderful. GET THESE. Vietnamese crepe (Bahn Xeo)-this crepe is amazing! We cut it up, and put pieces of the crepe in the lettuce wraps and basil. We weren't sure of the exact way to eat this, but it was excellent. Shrimp Pattie noodle (Bun Chao Tom)-this was refreshing and good. Their house fish sauce was heavenly with their food. We can't come back soon enough.

Yelp
A great choice for Vietnamese food in the Renton area! Parking can get very dicey especially during peak hours. This place does have parking on site but there's little so I would go for street parking if possible. The inside is very small with not many tables, and the place is relatively clean. Service was also very fast and prompt despite hearing that they may be understaffed from friends who've been here previously. For a table of four, my friends and I didn't have to wait long. The place serves many types of dishes and has a decent selection of vegetarian options too. My friends and I got several dishes including the Vietnamese tamarind soup with catfish, lemongrass chicken, lemongrass pork ribs, lemongrass beef ribs and their highly recommended steamed rice cakes. As a heads up, the rice cakes dish itself takes ~20 minutes to make. Every lemongrass meat was well-seasoned and flavorful, though the best ones for me were the pork and beef for their exceptional flavoring. I haven't had tamarind soup in a long time, so I was really happy to have it here! Restaurant is pretty small but I'll definitely come back for more of their dishes and the same ones I've gotten!

Grace J.

Yelp
Very busy place, but the food was mediocre and the service was distracted. I wouldn't go back, unless there was some other reason I was in the area. The decor is also a bit off; the converted home vibe doesn't really work

Kim N.

Yelp
Hanoi pork was delicious! Service was a ten! Loved the atmosphere. Parking lot needs to be maintained, pot holes and liter not so good.

C C.

Yelp
Wow, don't let the appearance of this place fool you. This is one of the few places that has high quality pho. I had their bun bo hue and I would definitely say it's definitely a top 3 compared to other restaurants in the area.

Jane L.

Yelp
New favorite vietnamese place! I like that they shed more light on the broader viet cuisine rather than just pho. Got to try dishes I wouldn't otherwise be exposed to, like Bun Rieu (shrimp and egg in tomato soup). The food is pretty tasty too! Wait time after ordering wasn't too long for us but getting a seat took around 30 min. Cozy ambiance, looks like the indoors of someone's house or a cabin, which adds to the experience for me.

Ann T.

Yelp
Such authentic delicious Vietnamese food I haven't been able to find. We ordered 4 dishes for 3 people and had some leftover of the egg crepe pancake. Otherwise all was devoured. My Vietnamese friend recommended this spot. Don't let it's older small renovated house look fool you. Really polite service, parking on the lot albeit limited but street parking is plentiful. We had a baby and they had a high chair and were very accommodating. If you're in Renton, go here~

Jason M.

Yelp
Decidedly authentic Vietnamese cuisine is a staple in the PNW. This bistro nails it with the bespoke service, family atmosphere and quality of cuisine. We ordered Mongolian beef that features plenty of wok hee flavors with the roasted vegetables and the sauces they use elevates the dish! My wingman also ordered shrimp wrapped in rice cake which was equally well executed and the spring rolls were very fresh and paired nicely with the provided peanut dipping sauce. A fantastic meal!

Maggie L.

Yelp
A sign on the front door says they are short-staffed. We visited on a Friday evening, and waited for 15-20 minutes before we were seated. Majority of customers were lots families with small kids. Inside was a bit old, and isn't very big. Food was surprisingly good. We ordered Bun Mam (fermented fish soup with pork belly, catfish, and squid), broken rice with grilled pork chop, and fish sauce wings. We were told the wings will take 35 minutes to come out, and it did arrive almost at the end of our meal. I would skip the wings, but the noodle and broken rice are both delicious.

Tiffany T.

Yelp
The food was really good! I personally liked the shredded real shrimp vs the typical shrimp-like power that is used in banh béo and their nuoc mam was flavorful and the perfect taste. I've had other places get the ratio wrong and it ends up leaving the sauce with a more salty taste. The bun bo hue isn't the most traditional, but I understand why they made some of the adjustments they did since most people don't like eating pork hoc or pork blood. The meat was cooked well and tender and really made the dish enjoyable. I was given an appropriate amount of veggie to noodle to meat ratio that made the dish enjoyable to eat. There wasn't a ton of spice, but that's something just could asked for to help enhance the flavor if I wanted a spicier taste. The broth was flavorful regardless. My partner got the com tam and said that he thought it tasted really good and could tell them had real broken rice. This is the only place that's has given him enough nuoc mam for his dish (he's a little heavy handed and enjoys more of the sauce than most people). He said he felt like there wasn't a lot and wished there was more but still enjoyed it. The wait staff were all kind and despite their sign that asked for understanding of slow service due to short staff, they brought our meal out in a timely manner. The place isn't fancy by any means but it's cozy and welcome and some of the natural light from the window really helped brighten and warm the place up. Edit: Watch out for other cars when exiting! The street is one way and there's a sign across from the restaurant that says it's one way, but we almost got hit by someone who was going in the opposite direction who might not have noticed the sign and accidentally made an illegal right turn.

Yelp
I have been to Renton Bistro several times after my first visit and I am hooked! One of my favorite dishes is the Meatball Platter. They bring you rice paper wrappers worh hot water with meatballs, fresh veggies, vermicelli noodles and thinly rolled up fried wonton skins. I love biting into a roll and getting the nice crunch form the fried wonton wrapper. The veggies are so fresh and balanced out the meat and the fried wonton. The other dish we ordered was grilled eggplant which was good but probably wouldn't order again and a chicken thigh noodle soup. On a second visit, my husband ordered the Thai tamarind hot and spicy noodle soup with shrimp. It is very flavorful and spicy. The Vietnamese crepe is fantastic. They will bring you lettuce leaves and your wrap the crispy crepe in the lettuce like a spring roll. It was very tasty. Be prepared to wait or go off-peak hours. The restaurant is quite small and not fancy. They have their own parking lot but there is also off-street parking nearby. Service is a bit on the slow side as is the cooking so be aware that your meal will take longer than what you expect. I am not Vietnamese but seems like this place is quite authentic and I'm looking forward to going back again to try other dishes.

Nathalie C.

Yelp
This is easily one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in Seattle. It's located in Renton inside what appears to be a converted house, adding to its charm. The food was excellent--every dish was delicious, and their fish sauce is the best I've ever had. I loved the banh xeo and the platter with rice noodles, various meats, and veggies that you can wrap into spring rolls--so delicious and filling. The fish sauce wings were perfectly crunchy, well-coated, and seasoned. While the bun rieu (a crab-based soup) was just okay--I've had better--service was okay but the overall food experience was great. I'll definitely be coming back to try more dishes!

Frederick C.

Yelp
Not here to complain.... But the only reason I believe this place is in business is because of the location... been passing by this place for years and never been in... should have known better. Chicken pad thi is wack and my brother to my ox tail pho was all salt! Really no flavor smh

Jane F.

Yelp
Still one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurant! Authentic and flavorful food! Some of what their menu offers are not at other local Vietnamese restaurants so it makes it special to order. Renton Bistro has an ambiance that is a little bit more "upscale" than your average pho place. Each dish is packed with a punch and is a decent size. So why isn't this a 5 star review? Renton Bistro, for as long as I have been going has been understaffed, making wait times to be long and it can also take quite awhile for your food to arrive. I defo make the time to come if I have the patience and if I'm not top hungry.

Lisa L.

Yelp
Went on two different weeks, both around 1pm on a Saturday. Small parking lot out front with a handful of spaces, but there was plenty of street parking in the area, and the parking at the transit center is not too far. Put down a name on the waitlist and then waited ~20 minutes to get seated both times. Service was attentive; our orders were taken soon after we got seated and water glasses were refilled promptly. Food - Bo Luc Lac: was ok, beef didn't taste too special, and the lettuce on the bottom was too wet. Probably wouldn't order again - Grilled Beef Short Ribs Rice Plate: beef was tender and flavorful, and the sauce flavored the bed of rice it sat upon. Would order again - Banh Beo: 10 small dishes of the steamed rice cakes. They were really tasty with the shrimp and fried onion on top that gave it a contrasting texture. On its own, the rice cake part is kind of mild, but paired with the provided sauce, it tastes great. Ordered this both times because it was so good the first time, would recommend! - Grilled Chicken Noodle Bowl: tasty, good amount of chicken, lots of noodles, pairs well with the provided fish sauce on the side. Good option if you want to get more protein. I would get this again. - Grilled Pork Chops with Broken Rice: tasted ok, nothing special. I think the beef short ribs rice plate tasted better and would recommend getting that one instead Overall large portions for the food and taste was good. Not sure if you can get the check while seated at the table because both times, we went up to the front to pay after our meal.

Yelp
We finally went to Renton Bistro after attempting to go for many months. When we arrived, the place was moderately busy and they were slightly understaffed. Despite this, the staff sat us quickly and we're still very attentive! The menu consisted of a lot of dishes you'd be familiar with such as pho, bun bo hue, and bun/vermicelli bowls. But it also had a lot of dishes that I haven't seen quite often. One of which was the combo khay platter, which came with different varieties of pork and egg rolls. We also ordered the bo kho or beef stew. Both dishes tasted delicious! The combo plate came with grilled pork, which was grilled very well with a very nice marinade that was sweet but savory. The nem nuong or pork patty was also delicious, being bouncy but not tough to eat. The egg rolls, despite being simple, were good and very crunchy even until the last bite. All this was served over a bed of weaved noodles. The fish sauce was more on the savoury side, which I personally enjoyed! The bo kho was good as well, with the beef being very tender and the broth being rich and flavorful . Renton Bistro is a great place for delicious Vietnamese food in the greater Seattle area! Everything from the staff, service, and food was great about this place. I would recommend this to anyone looking for delicious Vietnamese food from the usual to the unusual.

Marie R.

Yelp
This place is one of my ultimate faves! My husband, who's Vietnamese, introduced me to this place and I've been a fan ever since! Our go-to dishes are the caramelized catfish, canh chua, and fish sauce wings! We rotate the other dishes that we get so we can try as many dishes there as possible! Their canh chua is my all-time favorite dish, not just in Vietnamese cuisine, but in general. It's perfectly sweet and mildly tart but still tastes light and healthy. The caramelized catfish is perfectly cooked and just melts in your mouth. It's perfect with a hot steaming cup of rice! Then the fish sauce wings! It's salty, kinda sweet, and is perfect with rice as well! I'd eat almost anything with rice though! During our last dinner here, we got banh beo, which are rice cakes. Put some fish sauce on it and it's just perfection! I can't rave about this place enough! It's always a feast though whenever we come here so I save it for days when I'm ready to eat a ton! They are usually understaffed so don't come here if you're in a rush. Id say, go here if you have a lot of time to spare and are not about to faint from hunger!

Rebecca T.

Yelp
Thai tamarind hot and sour soup- canh chua thai: 4/5 this catfish soup was so full of flavors and delicious! I've never ordered this soup before so I have nothing to compare it to but I thoroughly enjoyed it! Combo bun- bun dac biet- 5/5 this was also amazing. Everything was juicy, fresh. I don't normally order egg rolls because I never know if it'll taste dry or tasteless... but these egg rolls were surprisingly super tasty!

Jessica M.

Yelp
We had heard a lot of buzz about this place so when we were in Renton playing at TopGolf we decided to check Renton Bistro out. They were super busy when we walked in with a party of 4 around 6:45 on a Saturday night. We put our name the list and waited about 20 minutes for a table. It's a small quaint little restaurant right in the heart of Renton. It's seemed like there were 2-3 servers running the whole place and it was pretty busy...which is always a good sign that the food is good. Once we were seated...I knew right away from the sticky table tops that this was going to either be the best or the worst Vietnamese meal I've had in a long time. It was still very busy so it took awhile for one of the servers to approach us, we ordered their most popular appetizers which was steamed rice pancakes with dried shrimp & green onions & some fried egg roll that are wrapped in rice paper, my favorite! We also ordered the rest of our dinner, my friend got a bun bowl with shrimp, her hubby got grilled beef satay, my hunny ordered pho and I ordered the bun bo hue. Their house special steamed rice pancakes were not that exciting, but the friend egg rolls were really good. My spicy beef noodles was pretty good, standard round rice noodle, thin sliced beef & pork, meatballs & garnished with a side of bean sprouts & banana leaves with chopped cabbage to add extra texture. I appreciated that there was no pork hock or blood cake which is usually served in this dish...so be aware if those are your favorites, they are not served here. My husband ordered some baguette with his pho, and I'm so glad he did! We added his sliced beef from his pho to the baguette and then dipped it into his pho broth...they need to put our idea on the menu because it was FANTASTIC. Otherwise it was just a standard bowl of pho, tasty but nothing new. My friend was not berry pleased with her bun bowl. The noodles hadn't been cooked down enough so they continued to cook in the bowl and become overdone and mushy, or maybe it was the heat from cooked shrimp on top...but bun should never have mushy noodles alongside the crisp lettuce. Her hubby's dish of saute beef slices on a bed of iceberg lettuce was tasty, just wish they would have used romaine lettuce instead. We asked for water for the table and they brought us each out a pint glass filled with room temp water which they never barely came by to refill. We asked for a pot of tea and it was about the same temperature as the water. Our friends ordered Thai Iced Tea & a Vietnamese coffee since our water and tea were not very good. I think I'll stick to my neighborhood Vietnamese restaurant next time...Renton Bistro seems like a bit of social media hype. Sorry...not worth the wait.

Lea S.

Yelp
You can tell right away that this is a no frills but OG Establishment, frequented by locals. It's located in a house with a tiny parking lot, and families lining out the door waiting for their seat. The long wait times are worth it! Where I grew up, there were only quick pho shops around, so discovering Renton Bistro has opened my eyes to all these other amazing Vietnamese dishes! Everything was flavorful, fresh, and comforting, and I will definitely come back to try something new each time.

Bryan W.

Yelp
Stopped by Renton Bistro for a weekend lunch around 11 am, and thankfully, we didn't have to wait for a table even though the restaurant was nearly full. I ordered the Rare Beef and Vinegar Salad and Bun Dau Mam Tom. Portions were decent for the price, but I felt the salad could've used a bit more punch. It had barely any onion or cabbage, and I wished for a stronger vinegar flavor--seemed like only one slice of onion made it in! Overall, decent meal but could use a bit more depth in flavor.

Timothy L.

Yelp
Super authentic Vietnamese spot in Renton. Located in a smaller older home, the space is quite limited so the wait can be a bit long on the weekends. I came with another person and we shared the banh xeo. I tried the com tam dac biet. Everything was pretty good. The banh xeo was messy to eat with wrapping lettuce leaves around the crepe but the crispy texture and the savory shrimp and pork filling made it so worth it. The com tam was good, I noticed there was a bit more pork than what I usually get with com tam at other places. Overall enjoyed this spot a lot!

Hoang N.

Yelp
As someone who is Vietnamese, this is one of my favorite Vietnamese places, I was honestly hooked on this since the first time, and I've been multiple times. The food felt authentic and just good overall, the banh xeo was big, and the noodles soups were on point and flavorful! Anyway, besides the food, the parking lot is kinda small, and also the inside is kinda small too, so maybe expect to wait.

Warren W.

Yelp
We came here on a Friday at 6:30. There was a bit of wait but not outrageous. After 30 minutes we got seated. The waiter was very nice and gave us ample time to go over the menu and make our selection. The food was real good. There are a bunch of flavors and makes you want to keep on eating even when you are full. I recommend the Bun Bo Hue, the pork chop broken rice plate and the sui sui chicken pot.

Nathan D.

Yelp
An amazing place to eat great Vietnamese food. Everything is great food here. We have so many good food experiences here I'm not sure there is anything on the menu that won't please the palate. The restaurant is a bit short on staff so there is a bit of a wait at times but nothing crazy and once you order everything arrives pretty quickly. I hope they can get more business to attract more servers as this is a great place to eat and enjoy with family. The platters are the best and we love all the pho. There is street parking and some parking next to the building. The building is a bit on the older side but quaint and I hope they reopen their outdoor seating again.

Ben H.

Yelp
One of the most unique restaurants I've been to. With a little instruction we learned to make our own spring rolls. The spring rolls I made were more like tacos but the fixings were delicious nonetheless. We also ordered a claypot with pork on the bone. Everything was delicious.

Rebecca L.

Yelp
I got the grilled pork chops with broken rice and it definitely tasted authentic and super delicious. It was very filling and the pork was tender and delicious and you could taste the marinade on the pork. The rice was steamy and soft. They were short staffed but they did their best and checked in with us. The wait was long when we came on a Saturday at 11am. It took maybe 40 mins. They have a parking lot but it is a bit small but worth it to try first and then find street parking. The interior is like a house turned into a restaurant which made it cute and cozy.

Yelp
Awesome Vietnamese food and excellent service. The higher price reflects in the quality and authenticity of Vietnamese cuisine. Will definitely go back!

Karen R.

Yelp
It's my second time here n you really can't go wrong with anything you order here... ok bun bo hue is slightly different but it's still tasty... yesterday we over ordered for two (servings are very generous here) we got a combo bun bowl, the sour catfish soup and the combo platter (to make your own rolls! - all that including tax and 20% tip was just under $100 and leftover for days!! When I'm in Renton this will be my spot! Oh good air-conditioning too! Service is brisk but friendly - they are probably understaffed but the two young men are super efficient!!

Serena W.

Yelp
Came here on a Tuesday night and it was pretty busy. There was one group ahead of us. The wait was too long but probably because there were not many workers. We did wait about 30 mins for two bowls of noodle soup. The food was good and the portions are big. However, not sure it's worth the long wait. The space inside is small so tables are close to each other. There is also not much parking in their parking lot, spaces are tight.

Yelp
I just wanted to update review of Renton Bistro. I went again few days ago and the wait for a table is no joke. It can be so long and waiting and smelling the delicious aroma in the air almost make me to faint. lol Seriously the food here is amazing !!!! I ordered mango salad and beef salad with cucumber plus my regular rice cake, crepe, fresh rolls, egg rolls, grilled pork, short ribs and pho. The textures, flavors are a party in my mouth. I can't stress enough how authentic the flavors are at the bistro. Price point is reasonable. The ladies worked at the front really tried hard and pleasant. This is my favorite Vietnamese food to go to.

Yelp
I've heard great things about Renton Bistro but because I'm Vietnamese and can cook I rarely go out for Vietnamese food. Anywho, came here after my friend got off work. We were seated quickly and service was pretty good. Interior is very clean and pretty spacious. I cant imagine this place when it's busy as the table set up is kind of weird and close to one another haha. We order goi cuon nem nuong (spring roll with pork) my friend order hu tieu and I got bun rieu. Broth here was pretty good, I was expecting things to be slightly sweet but was very surprised when it wasn't. My serving of bun rieu was very large, and full of tomatoes and yumminess. I did wish it was a bit spicier as the chili oil they gave me and fresh chilis did nothing for my bowl haha. I also ordered a Vietnamese coffeee and it was great, so strong and not overly sweet. Perrrfect! Anyways it was a good experience here and I got to see my friend. I'll probably come here if I'm ever in the area and craving Vietnamese food!

Yelp
The restaurant is always crowded. It's not too big, under 10 tables, so it makes you feel cozy. The service is pretty good. They pay attention to what you need and bring stuff right away when you ask. The food is good. I really like their banh beo and fermented fish noodle soup. The parking is on site, if no more parking there, you can go park somewhere nearby.

Yelp
One of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants serving one of my favorite bowls of pho and banh beo in WA. Just plan ahead knowing that the food and service will take a little longer since there is typically one person visiting the tables. I usually order the pho or five spice chicken noodle soup, so I opted for bun bo hue this time to see what it's like here. Honestly not my favorite dish here. The bun bo hue tasted like it had way way too much shrimp paste in it, this was the main flavor of this soup. I couldn't really taste much else other than that shrimp paste! The soup has a good amount of meat and noodles, so really enjoyed the portion size. I probably won't get this dish again. I typically like their soup broths here, so maybe it was just a miss this day. I'll be back to try some more new to me dishes for sure! I still believe in the broth life!

Yelp
Food was excellent !! Loved their Pho Tai broth. It tastes very "pure" without too much spices tastes like other Pho places. The pork plate was fun to DIY and it tasted good too!! No wonder it always gets lots of people waiting in line.

Yelp
Good place to try if you like Vietnamese food. It is one of the better Vietnamese restaurants in the area. Service is a bit slow due to understaffing but they are friendly and nice. There was only a few people dining in when we came for lunch. We ordered the bánh bèo, cơm tấm, bánh xèo, and bún măng vịt. All the portions were big and shareable. The bún măng vịt was probably our least favorite. Broth was a little bland. But everything else was delicious.

Yelp
I've been hearing about this restaurant from a friend for a while and decided to try it. Parking was limited but there's some on the streets nearby. As we entered the restaurant, we were greeted by our server and she gave us paper menus to look at. There were so many food options available and it was difficult for me to choose. Looking at other yelp reviewers, we decided to try the steamed rice cake as an appetizer to start out. My partner decided to try the siu siu chicken rice pot while I got the combo bun dac biet. Below are my thoughts of each dish: Steamed rice cake: omgosh!! One of the most unique Vietnamese dish we have ever tried! Even though it took about 20 minutes to make, the wait was worth it. The cake was like the texture of cheung fun (rice roll) filled with dried shallots and shrimp bits. It goes so well with the fish sauce provided. It came with a total of 10 small dishes. Definitely a must try and share amongst a big group! Siu siu chicken rice pot: based from my partner's opinion, he thought it was very good. The coconut rice was very aromatic and has ginger in it. The chicken was very moist as well. It goes so well with the ginger fish sauce. Combo bun: I love rice noodle dishes and this place hands down did the best in my books! Not only was there generous amount of noodles, there were a variety of meats that made it tasted so good. The grilled pork was nicely caramelized and charred. The pork patty and shrimp patty each had different meat textures and flavors. The egg roll was crispy and has been cut up. Mix it all together with veggies and some fish sauce and it was a winning dish for me. This was by far my favorite bun dish! Overall, a great mom and pop shop out in downtown Renton. We didn't have any problems with parking but do come early to beat the rush. Will come back again to try some more new dishes next time!

Yelp
Service is slow, but is expected now. They have signs plastered everywhere telling you they are short staffed. Menu is huge. Something for everyone if you're into Vietnamese food. Their bánh xèo is big and crispy. Has a good amount of filling. Comes out with a platter of veggies and good nuoc mam dipping sauce. Bún măng vịt - I love this dish here. It used to be bigger but now they don't serve as much duck, which is a real bummer. Banh beo - I don't know what it is about the west coast, but the bánh béo around here is hella thicccc. And not in a good way. I usually just split it in half and put all the toppings on one side. Add nuoc mam for max flavor. Bun dau mắm tôm - super tasty and simple. Really can't mess this dish up. I've tried a few of their other dishes such as bun Bo hue and bun mam, but they're just so so compared to the other dishes mentioned above.

Yelp
Wow! I seldom go to Renton but this is a gem. I've always heard from friends that this is the best Vietnamese food in Washington and I've gotten takeout before which has always been great. Today I went in person and every single dish was amazing. It is a small family owned business so the service is quite slow but it is well worth the wait. The restaurant itself is only 10 tables and we waited for 20 minutes on a weekday night.

Yelp
Small little restaurant in Renton with great food. I've had the BBH, Banh xeo, and fried egg rolls (which is wrapped in a spring roll wrapper- SO good and must try). I would definitely recommend and go back to try more dishes. It can get pretty busy and they don't have tons of seating.

Yelp
Still my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in the greater Seattle. We tried a few new dishes with another couple and everything was delicious. Most things are made to eat family style so you can try several things. Love love this place when it comes to the food quality. One thing to note is that they are typically understaffed and wait time can get a bit high since it's a fairly small venue.

Yelp
Been here a few times. Highly recommend their dishes as they are authentic & flavorful. The pho chin is one of my favorites. As its a popular spot & are understaffed, there is a bit of a wait if you go during peak hours yet they do their best to accommodate.
