So...today we wanted to go a little daring. So we decided to try Indian food again...which I haven't been too crazy about. I have tried a few places...some of the best as I have been told...and have not been impressed. Today I can honestly say I loved this food. This lady can cook...she hit every spice to perfection and chicken was super juicy. Coming from a family who we all cook and who make a living from food...this food was top notch. The Chicken Tikka Masala and Butter Chicken were our favorites. Had the Indian bread and topped it with Mexican queso fresco...ahhhhhh perfection!

Renuka Aunty’s home cooked food is amazing. It’s made with love and time. You can be really specific with her in terms of your food order- spice levels, pick up times, special requests, etc and she is very very accommodating. I’m a very picky eater (spoiled) and she puts up with me really well lol. Her food almost (almost!!) comes close to my own moms cooking which is very hard to do. Best Pakistani/Indian food in Austin, it’s worth the drive. My suggestion for single households is to order about 3-4 items so they would last you an entire week or so. If you’re craving a certain dish, simply ask her and she’ll do what she can to make it happen. Highly recommend the White Chicken Curry and the Kheer! Tell her Ali sent you! Love her!

Stumbled upon this place because a restaurant down the street closed early. We pulled up to a house and realized it was take out only. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala, which was brought out in ten minutes. It was very tasty and delicious. I can’t wait to go back and order more from the menu. Thank you Renuka!

Chicken Biryani and the sprout salad appetizer! The spice was incredible and really tasty with large portions packed to the top. Chicken was flavorful and cooked well, had to save some for leftovers the next day! Also ordered the Butter Chicken and highly recommend the bread as well! All of it is tasty!

We ordered the choley with pratha and chicken biryani. We paid through Venmo and picked up at her house. The food was freshly prepared and tasted authentic. I grew up eating Indian food and this reminded me of my childhood, but I wish that I could have asked for my food to be made spicier because I felt it was more on the mild side. Can’t wait to try more of Renuka’s dishes!

Renuka's food is the closest thing to homemade indian food! My mother doesnt live here and ordering from Renuka has been a life changer! I can make specific requests and so far my experience has been AMAZING. I highly recommend ordering the mixed vegetable kitchadi and spinach khadi! IT IS SO GOOD!!!!!!

I walked down the hallways of Building #1 of Springdale General and met Ranuka, a cute lady who was attentive for her sign and was showing excitement for people to try her food. Renuka introduced herself and I was intrigued. I order the Chicken Masala, it took about 10 mins. Once I opened the bag, it was an instant YES! The scent of fresh rice was on point!!! Great flavors, not overly salty, it was just right.

Excellent food! The Tikka masala was delicious and the Indian bread was unreal. Will be ordering again. Just look at that delicious drumstick nestled in a cozy bed of rice.

Lots of seemingly new small businesses and eateries in this little plaza (Springdale General)! It was a little difficult for me to find the restaurant at first. It's in building 1 so first building on the right once you enter the plaza, and the restaurant is in the part of the building that faces Springdale Rd. The restaurant itself is probably the tiniest out of all the tiny eateries in this building. It has a very small counter, two small tables to eat at, and a table for to-go orders. I ordered online through DoorDash around 2 pm on a Friday and my order was ready in less than 15 minutes! I got the butter paneer with 2 parantha, and once I got my food, it seemed like they gave me a side of potatoes as well! All for $18 without tax (and no option to tip), but came out to around $19-20 for pickup. The butter paneer and potatoes had excellent flavors!! The lime juice really enhanced the spices and herbs of the potatoes and they paired nicely with the more creamy butter sauce. The butter sauce was so delicious but a little soupy and not as creamy. Still tasted amazing, i would definitely drink it as soup haha. The paneer came in big chunks and was soooo soft and yummy to eat. The parantha was a good size and buttery but a little hard by the time I ate it. Next time I'll make sure to eat it asap so it's as fresh as possible! Would be back!

I noticed this place last week when I was at Springdale general when I saw many multigenerational families ordering from here. I was glad to see them on the delivery apps and since it's going to be scorcher decided on ordering delivery . I got the butter chicken and the chicken kadai. Each order comes with a tandoori drumstick which was moist and a large portion of rice to eat with the curry. The butter chicken was a little to watery and somewhat floral for my liking but still full of flavor. I should've looked at the Instagram as there were other thicker curries. What won me over was the chicken kadhai. Lots of flavor and cooked down garlic, onions, tomatoes, and peppers. The ginger added a kick! Since this is more home cooking the flavors where very balanced and just had that added touch that home style cooking has.

There's only one word to describe this place: speechless. Literally the BEST Indian spot I've ever had. The chicken tikka masala was amazing. Full of flavor, and even until the very last bite I was left wanting more. The sauce, the chicken, all of it was made to perfection. I've never had tikka masala so wonderfully made. My girlfriend ordered the butter chicken plate and that was fantastic as well. The sauces that go on these dishes are phenomenal. I've never had a better experience. I thought I've had great Indian food but no, never like this before. Definitely recommend Renukas kitchen 11/10!! I wish I could give this review a 6 star rating. She also took our order at around 11:20 pm and without hesitation. The food was freshly made, and every single item was so full of flavor and love. Definitely will be trying other items on the menu! Decent flavors. Some of the curries are way too sweet and lacked flavor. Not a restaurant (you're picking up food from a ghost kitchen served in plastic) but near a food court where you can sit but you're still paying restaurant prices. Would have been a 3 or a 4 except: - $15 + $2 for bread for a takeaway is ridiculous (even the veggie stuff that there are pictures yelp you see food selling at $10 a few months ago!) - hard to find - 30 minute wait time - food was lukewarm (ate there) - Not very spicy and no way to indicate level of spice

This is definitely an experience! First, you can't do the normal covid thing to order for delivery. You'll think it's a hassle, but it'll be fun, I promise. The menu is basically the pictures you see on the Yelp images. I know, very different from what you'd expect these days but keep on reading A very nice lady picks up and the transaction for your order seems slightly sketchy, but you decided to trust it because Yelp gave it 5 stars and at least more than 10 people agreed. So you go to pick it up, and you're still unsure if you're at the right place, but then you see that nice lady bring your food out. That's when you know you've made the right choice. The whole ordering system was a fun experience, and the food definitely didn't disappoint. I am in no way an expert in Indian food, but it just tasted right! We ordered the chicken tikka masala, butter paneer and the mango lassi. I kind of love how the lady gave me two straws for one lassi, that's the VIP service I enjoy. I know most of this review wasn't about the food, but trust me the food is good. It's also the experience of ordering that was fun to me.

So good!! Did not expect to find the best Indian food in Austin, TX but really the most pleasant surprise. Upset that this is not home in California, which says a lot! I worked at the coffee shop in the same building and ordered here for lunch. It's all online so you can order without leaving your seat. Food was ready in under 10 mins, even though the app said 30 mins. Highly recommend.

We've been looking for a home-cooked style Indian food option for quite some time and finally found Renuka's Kitchen! We ordered her Rajasthani special today and my mom, here from India during COVID, really enjoyed it. That's a high bar to cross! We look forward to trying more items on her menu.

Not catering only! Renuka just runs her kitchen out of her home, you have to call or text her for what dishes are available, she takes your order, and you pickup from her front door. Her website gives the impression of a catering only business but that is not the case. Renuka's is the best Indian food I've eaten in Austin. Reminds me of the home-cooked meal prepared for me by my hosts in India when I back packed there. Renuka is very sweet and her food beats the best Indian in town. Many Indian restaurants upset my stomach but none of her food does (on top of tasting amazing). Don't skip this amazing Indian food. You will probably like *whatever* she feeds you (even if you don't recognize a particular dish).

You can pick up Renuka's home cooking straight from her home if you just give a call to see what she has available. We had the chicken biryani and butter chicken with paratha. My favorite was definitely the biryani and it was definitely not overrated and lives up to the hype. Thanks Renuka!

Authentic Indian home made food made lovingly and generously by the sweet and kind Ms Renuka. We ordered food for family dinner, the portions were generous, the spices were appropriate, and the flavors were authentic. We asked her adjust the heat/spice level since to mild for the children, we all enjoyed the food very much. I got mine spicy which she adjusted accordingly. A wonderful meal was enjoyed by all m. Local, Homemade from scratch authentic Indian food!

Fantastic home cooking at this hidden gem. Pleasantly surprised to find the butter chicken came with a side of tandoori chicken leg! Easy to order over phone, Renuka provided great service as well. Will definitely add this to my rotation of takeout food.

This Aunty knows how to cook!! I moved here from Houston for school and was missing my parents home cooking. I ordered the chicken biriyani with mango lassi and it was delicious! Definitely going to order more from her when I crave home cooking!

Everything was fresh and delicious! The portion sizes were generous as well, we'll easily make two meals from our two veggie dishes and appetizer. I meant to take a picture of how great everything looked, but it smelled so good, we ate it before I could think of pictures.

Found this homemade India food for lunch yesterday--delicious! Ordered by phone the spinach paneer which was spiced well with rice. Portion size generous had leftovers and price point was good $14. Picked up in timely 20 minutes and safely delivered to my car. Can't wait to try the buttered chicken and samosas next. Angelita

This is truly a hidden gem in south Austin! We found out about Renuka's kitchen via word of mouth, and I have to say that it is excellent. We tried the kadai chicken, chicken biryani, and Punjabi choley. All were amazing- delicious, flavorful, and fresh. Don't miss out on this mom-made food!

A gem of a spot. We got the butter chicken and chicken tikka masala. Both were incredibly flavorful. Good portions... I don't wanna rave too much; people will think I'm putting it on. In truth, I can't say enough good things. Can't wait to try more of the menu. SIX STARS!!!

Ordered 4 plates after the US Grand Prix. The food was wonderful and was tastier knowing it was made with a personalized touch. Highly recommend!

Great food! I got the chicken tikka masala and my wife got the chickpea masala and they were both delicious. We were hungry so we forgot to take pictures but the other pictures are accurate. Great flavor, great portions and price. All around good experience and will definitely be back again!

O M G!!!! I went to pick up food for my wife from Renuka and ended up eating half of it on accident. I have never been a fan of Indian food but Renuka literally changed my life. The portions are gracious!! The flavor is sensational!! Whatever you don't eat please give it to me. Her food is that good!!

Delicious, fresh ingredients, tastes clean and not overly heavy or creamy, generous portions - it tastes quite different than restaurant Indian food, but you feel like it's the much better, healthier real deal. Definitely a unique way to order and pick up your food, but that's part of the charm. You gotta try it to believe it.

Would suggest to order ahead of time because it can take a while for it be ready. Also, they do not accept credit cards. That said, we thought the food was excellent! We ordered the biryani, daal, and aloo tikki. All were delicious. She is also willing to adjust the spice levels to what you want. Will be coming back again for more.

Absolute hidden gem! Growing up with Indian neighbors, I would go over to there house every so often for a home cooked meal. it became obvious the difference between an Indian restaurant and home made. You can just tell the difference right away. This is the best Indian food in Austin. 10/10 would recommend. Must try spot for take out comfort food. Really friendly people. Makes me wish I wasn't moving and I found this place earlier. Best of luck to them!

It was my families first time ordering from Renuka's Kitchen tonight and all I can say is WOW! We ordered the Tikka Masala and the flavor was incredible, so robust. We asked her to add some extra spice, which gave it the perfect kick. The masala sauce is one of the most flavorful I've had in my life and I LOVE Indian cuisine, so that says a lot. Even the rice was cooked to perfection I will recommend Renuka's Kitchen to anyone and everyone. In addition, her service is quick and easy. We ordered the night before and it was ready to go at anytime requested the following day. I love that she cooks at her home kitchen as well, makes it so cozy feeling. Can't wait to try another dish in the coming weeks. Please support!!!

I was craving Indian food one night and found Renuka's Kitchen on Yelp. I am so glad as the butter chicken and Tikka masala were so mouth wateringly (don't care that it's not a word) amazing! I've tried many Indian restaurants all over and I can say that this is probably the best that I have tried. For my taste, it hit every bud and portions are great. Looks like a startup right now so take advantage of trying the food now before it grows into long waits. Just make sure to call to place your order. You will not be disappointed.

Excellent food. We got the butter paneer and chicken tikka masala, with rice and bread, and we got 4 adult meals and 2 toddler meals out of it, so portions are good-sized! The chicken was especially delicious.

Simply absolutely delicious. Home cooked Indian cuisine. We got the chicken tikka masala and the chicken masala. Both dishes came with and extra Tandoori chicken leg.

Puris were really fresh and good. Went well with the chole. Biriyani was a large portion and very tasty along with Raita. Will be back!

Hidden Gem! Delicious dishes! Was disappointed and almost canceled my to go order when Renuka told me that vegetable korma wasn't available this evening. So so glad I didn't!! Ordered large to go order for family and some extended family dinner. Not a single complaint.

We are so glad to have found Renuka's kitchen at a time when cooking at home ourselves or eating/grabbing food from outside was not an option. She was very kind to walk thru all the combos possible for a regular tiffin service and catered to our specific requirements around spice level, vegetarian/vegan options as well as likes/dislikes. My first order quickly turned into 5 days a week order and have been loving the variety of food that she is able to surprise us with, every single time! Love the fact that it truly is 100% home cooked meal with great flavors and wonderful taste.
