Renzo Sandwich

The decor is Instagram-worthy and certainly draws in the crowds. As for the sandwhich, we decided to go with the “Sub Classique”—it sounded like a simple choice that we felt would give us a good sense of the place. And in terms of size? It’s definitely filling. This sandwich is loaded with ingredients, enough to leave you feeling full for hours. A Good bang for your buck

In a city with fierce competition in the sandwich game, Renzo is making some noise. Stopped in with a group recently and had the #1, classic ingredients, nothing crazy. But once I took a bite, I realized…yea I was wrong. It was cray cray. Excellent mash of flavours, not too messy, just messy enough. Definitely do not think of getting 1 sandwich for yourself unless you don’t plan on eating anything else that day, because these things are huge. Easily 2 pounds. Cool diner vibe, and very pleasant service, and quick!

Have been here many times since it opened and this place quickly became my favourite sandwich/hoagie style spot in the city. Amazing price for quantity and quality. Diverse options. Can’t recommend enough!

Worth it. You should try. Bae and I picked up a classic sub and a Renzo chicken for our maiden voyage. Both very solid but the Renzo chicken was magical. Great depanneur vibe ambiance, fresh ingredients and huge servings. Like one sandwich for two people kind of vibes. Pricing is extremely fair (about 15$/per sandy) considering the sizes. Something tells me these kind of prices won’t last forever, so get there and take advantage while you can! Great location to boot!

The roast beef and tomatoe sandwiches left much to be desired. Both were underseasoned, with the bread feeling plain and uninspired, and an overwhelming amount of lettuce that detracted from the overall flavour. The roast beef was at least cooked well, size was decent and price was good. The atmosphere initially piqued my interest, offering a unique vibe, but that excitement quickly faded once the disappointing flavour of the sandwiches became apparent. To top it off, the chocolate chip cookie was a major letdown — dry and stale, it lacked the freshness and gooey texture you'd expect. It’s surprising how such a simple classic can be mishandled so thoroughly. Overall, the experience fell short of expectations on both taste and execution.

Very disappointing. Not horrible, but disappointing. I ordered the italian roast beef. The bread itself was fresh and delicious however there was so much unseasoned shredded lettuce that it made my entire sandwich flavorless. The meat was also cold which isn’t what comes to mind when you order a roast beef sandwich. My friends enjoyed their Renzo Sandwich, the chicken was crunchy, however also mentioned it was under seasoned. They said of all, the Philly Cheesesteak was the best.

I had a mortadella sandwich with artichokes. It was excellent. I'm definitely going back to try a different one. The interior was incredible. Nice location. Staff was cool. Good selection of hipster sodas.

Won’t be a frequent stop for me because the prices are a bit out of “reasonable sandwich price” territory, but I’d definitely return! Roast beef sandwich was excellent, it’s hard to find actually rare roast beef, and it tasted great! The bread was good too, not too crunchy. Personally I’d rather have it without lettuce, I took the lettuce out because it doesn’t really go with roast beef. I’d get it again, just without the lettuce next time. Seating inside is really only good for groups of two at most, so plan to eat elsewhere if you come as a group.

Yelp
New sandwich place in the neighborhood! It seems to be a trend lately but I'm not complaining, I love a good sandwich. This place has a cool retro, hipster vibe. Not much seating (only 4 booths of 2 and a counter top for 6 people), but there is lots of places to eat outside. I got the chicken Cesar and the ingredients were very fresh, the chicken juicy, and the bread airy and not too tough. I wish the chicken had a bit more seasoning or that they added a bit more sauce. Overall the sandwich's was really good but missing a bit of kick. My boyfriend got the chicken buffalo and it was very tangy! I loved the mix of flavours of the buffalo sauce with the chicken and the pickles. The sauce was a bit too sour for me but I had a couple of bites and it was good! I would definitely come back since it's so close to Kem Coba and it's the perfect meal + dessert combo!

Yelp
Third time at Renzo's never disappoints! One of the best old school Italian sandwich shops in Montreal. I highly recommend you give them a try, the next time you're in Mile End.
