I took a girls trip to Charleston and came to Republic multiple times during the trip. We came early, we came late and each time it was so much fun. When we were there early, I got the spicy chicken sandwich and it was so good I ate the entire thing (I usually do not, I swear). We came later for the party and had a VIP table outside and had the best time dancing and vibing. All of the servers/bottle girls who helped us were friendly and attentive. We got their names because they were so helpful and fun, we wanted to give them a shout out, so here it is: Julie, Beatriz, Sierra, Liz, Camille and Emma: Y'ALL MADE OUR NIGHT! You are the best, thank you for such a wonderful experience.

We hit up Republic 3 days in a row during the day while we were in Charleston. It was our go to spot for people watching and hanging on their cute patio while enjoying afternoon cocktails. While I can't speak on the nighttime vibe, during the day it was a chill place. We really enjoyed chatting with our bartender, Rob, who gave us some good recommendations to check out while we were in town. I don't drink alcohol so I enjoyed some of the Mocktails they had to offer. It's definitely the place to go during the day if you want a relaxing spot that's outside.

I came here on a girls trip and had so much fun! Brunch is yummy, weekday night vibe is fun and relaxing, weekend nights are craaazy! 🍾🍾🍾 We stayed up way past our bedtimes and it was well worth it!🤘😛🤘 🎉 All of the girls were SO sweet and so beautiful! Had the best time here during the day and at night as we continued our Southern Hospitality tour…and Republic and their staff delivered! Shane was our friendly server in the garden and at night! Ty, working the door day and night, totally hooked us up to make us feel like VIPs!! Michols was so nice to take pics with us and we met Joe Bradley too! We had great bar bites during the day while DJs played and fun people watching! It was a highlight of our trip and can’t wait to come back!!

Service was great, atmosphere was fun & inviting and the drinks were surprisingly not expensive. We had a fun time enjoying the outside patio and even saw Emmy & Michols getting ready for the night shift. Highly recommend for a fun night out in Charleston.

The music, the atmosphere, and the overall vibe—whether day or night—were unmatched. If you’re looking for an unforgettable experience, Republic is a must-visit! We couldn’t stay away and can’t wait to return for another visit in the future!

I’ve been to republic many times over the last year during the day and always have a great experience! The bartender I’ve seen the most there is TJ and he always provides great service. He also has recommendations for fun things to do in town or cool sights to see! The music definitely creates a really fun atmosphere on the outdoor patio

came to CHS for a 4 day girls trip and ended up going back to republic 3 times! did a brunch on thursday - food was excellent and the staff was super sweet and accommodating. friday night’s club night was by far my favorite! we had a vip table on the patio and the vibes were immaculate! got to meet joe and maddi and they were so down to earth and genuinely awesome. our bottle girls were absolute earth angels! i LOVED julie!!! she felt like the 8th friend who got to the girls trip a little late. give that woman a raise, leva.

Great bar atmosphere and ambiance to chill and relax with friends or family. Awesome indoor or outdoor patio with comfy seating and friendly servers. Old fashions to crafted specialty cocktails, this is a convenient location right on King St. Walking distance from our hotel! Did I mention great friendly bartenders too! We didn't have a chance to check out their food and entrees, next visit we will.

I've been here a few times and we keep going back because we want it to be better. It's a great location and the decor is super nice, but the staff isn't really that friendly and I'm not sure if they even want to work. My sister and I sat at the bar and we ordered one of each of the frozen drinks they offered because it was HOT. One of the bartenders wasn't very enthusiastic about being there. We got both of our drinks and one of the FROZEN drinks wasn't even frozen. Instead of coming back to us and saying one of them isn't frozen yet, would you like the other one instead...he replied "well it's still going to taste good." We said no thank you and could you please give us the other one. He rolled his eyes and brought it to us. It was a one and done for us after that drink. It's very disappointing and I am not one to write a bad review because it is people's business, but if you have staff working for you that's rude and doesn't want to work, I would like to know about it as an owner.

Shane!!! You are a doll and I'm leaving this review for you. Thank you for being such a down to earth, attentive bartender for me and my husband during our Charleston trip. You made us the best drinks for our day out on King Street and kept the vibe so welcoming and fun. I appreciated the local recommendations you gave and level of service, which made us come back again for more drinks the next day. The music was also on point, so overall a perfect place to day drink while enjoying the King Street boutiques.

Great venue to enjoy cocktails, music, and socializing. Inside is a pretty packed bar, loud music, and some nice VIP table seating. Outside is a great looking patio with greenery, lights, and fresh air. Great to have both options to transition back and forth. Lots of bartenders for quick service despite the crowd.

Went to Republic earlier for some drinks and a hang out spot. To start, the guy working the door was super friendly and so was the bartender. We ordered some non alcoholic drinks and they were made perfectly. The vibe and ambiance is great. There was a DJ when we were there and definitely made me want to have a good Sunday funday. Looking forward to going back and trying their margs !

Wannabe bar... with a bunch of wannabes... overpriced, crowded, tacky, and boring. So stay away go somewhere else The staff was boring, owner was rude as hell...

popped in here after booping around the shops on king street for an app and wasn't disappointed. the vibes outside were really great, music on but not too loud and the bartenders were really nice! the pretzel speaks for itself, just amazing - as an avid pretzel and cheese fan this might be in my top 3!

Republic is owned by Southern Charm bravolebrity Leva and her husband. Knowing this, I just had to check it out! My cousins and I were searching for a hotspot for an after party and Republic came to mind. We were let in on a Saturday after midnight with no cover charge and no issue. The bouncers were very friendly and welcoming. The vibe was definitely like a nightclub as soon as we walked in--love the multicolor lighting and crystal chandeliers. The music was pretty much all rap which was not very danceable for me. Otherwise, we enjoyed our time here both inside and out on the garden patio and I also enjoyed my lemon drop.

Dutch was a phenomenal bartender!! He cares a lot about his job and knows how to make a quality drink.

Trash. I booked VIP table services weeks in advance. They advertise that getting table service comes with skipping the line. It would be cool if the VIP didn't have a line longer than the regular one. We waited in line to be sat at our table...only to be taken to what looked like the Walmart version of a table. They might as well have given me a folding table & chair in front of a trailer with a 40 in a paper bag. As if placing me out back in the alley by the dumpsters was not bad enough... the hostess and doorman had the audacity to say I never confirmed. Mind you- I am showing them a signed contract and confirmation of my card being given to the planner Judy. Only then to be told "sorry you paid for bottom barrel experience. if you would have paid $50 more you could be inside on a dry table" First and foremost when I asked Ms. Judy what the difference was in the packages she said the $50 increase only made a difference in reference to where in the club the table would be in regards to the action. Never did she say I would be sitting with the alley cats and next to the exit. Let's face the facts. 1. They saw that my group had only 6 people and that they could make more money with the group behind me which was a group of 15 drunk girls who did not even have a reservation oh and I forgot to mention were taken before us even though we were in LINE. 2. They thought we would be desperate enough to take the abuse of being sat outside and have it stormed and soaked the entire section that we couldn't even sit down and standing required us doing a balancing act on an uneven brick in a pool size puddle. 3. They also failed to realize that while I was there for fun I event planned for a living. I cross my Ts and dot my I's don't leave room for error. I asked groups around me what they paid and it was HALF what they were charging me to sit in. I proceeded to ask groups inside who were paying EXACTLY what I was paying and not the $50 extra. 4. While we tried to salvage the issue of being scammed - the place is trashed and dirty and the staff is far from anything pleasant. Luckily we had a much better experience walking distance from the republic - message me for the name because this place does not deserve your money. Note for the staff: the next time you want to hustle a group of out-of-town girls probably should take into consideration where they are from we spent our younger years dodging and learning from experience how to avoid sleazeballs like you. Oh and had your salesperson done her job right I likely would have paid double for a table inside - considering your "VIP" cost is the tax on what we spend at clubs here.

There are just better places to go. Don't waste your time or money. Only way this place survives is because of the tv show. Tiny place. Overpriced. Lame

A fun place to visit late night for drinks and dancing. I got the frose which was good. It was refreshing after a long day out. I would check this place out if you're close by but it's not worth making a trip here if you are not close by.

I love Republic! I've been at night a few times, and most recently went here for some day drinking with girlfriends on a trip. The vibe was fun and lively, with a good crowd of late 20-somethings on a Sunday afternoon and a fun DJ. The frosé was refreshing, the flowers hanging above the bar were cute, and we had a great time! Also, this is a SPOT late night to get dressed up, been seen, and party at.

I'm rating this a 1-2 based solely on a one night experience. This place was recommended as THE SPOT to go to for a good time. We arrived around 11pm and waited in line only a few minutes. It was a $5 cover charge per person. Once we got in, we found it to be way overcrowded- like WAYYY overcrowded. They have a long bar with a narrow path and VIP seating on the other side. This place was standing room only and if you weren't in a VIP section, that standing room was right in front of the bathrooms and service access or packed in like sardines in front of the bar. It was SO loud inside the only way the bartenders could get my order was through me typing it out on my phone. I left my card to start a tab after ordering only four shots - one for each of us (about $80). After a friend slipped on a wet floor and backed up into the elevated platform of a VIP section, we tried to move outside but circumstances were the same, nowhere to be - standing, dancing, or otherwise. We decided to leave and I went to the bar to cash out. The bartender told me I didn't have an open tab and that I had paid out - I told him my name and that he had my card still - he didn't believe me. He tried to move on to someone else and I had to seek help from another bar tender. The original bartender rolled his eyes and threw up his hands like I was an inconvenience to him. I tipped him anyways but I'm glad we left when we did. We ended up finding another place that had THE BEST live performance playing and they did not allow overcrowding. Republic- won't be back.

decent place to drink & party! The bartenders and security are very friendly! It's pretty loud and gets wild after about 1130. We enjoyed our evening there, as the outside is pretty neat. When I checked in on yelp, I received a coupon to receive a percentage off my drink or food (this coupon was from yelp). The bartender declined the coupon that I provided and told me that he didn't know what that was. super frustrating, but oh well.

First time in the place and was genuinely so pleased with everything. Food was good, staff were great, even had a good laugh with a shorter girl working on the inside. All the reviews giving 5 stars were right.

Went in a couple of weeks ago. We Aren't the type of people to leave reviews but it's sat with us enough to leave this . We had two bartenders take care of us. Shane was amazing and accommodating. But I believe his name was TJ was very rude and judgmental. My wife and I ordered 2 rounds from him and it seemed he was judgmental towards what we were ordering. Whether he didn't want to make it or judging our liquor of choice because it wasn't "high enough". We will go back if he is not working because of the scrutiny which we received from our drink orders.

Had a great Friday night out at Republic! A group of 6 of us stopped in unplanned and started with drinks at the bar. We then purchased a section which is definitely the way to go here! Bottles were ~$150 and the servers were great and attentive! Our space was kept clear of folks not in it and we had easy access to the club, bathroom etc. The layer it gets the less serious people are about Covid protections so the section helped with that as well!

Went out to republic last night for a bachelorette. The people at the door were so rude and arrogant. Very inhospitable. Will not be back.

Our experience here was great ! Our bartender Tariq was great ! best bartender in the state for sure ! Made our drinks perfect and was always quick ! Scenery was great also, would definitely come back any time!

Super cramped all the time barely any standing room so you can forget about dancing. If you try to go outside looking for more space you run into mediocre VIP areas that take up so much of the room so you're forced back inside. The bouncers are very flip-floppy. Some enforce the dress code selectively. I saw them turn a group away for wearing sneakers and then went inside to see 4 ladies in sneakers themselves. Bartenders are very respectful and are honestly probably the only reason people come back. Just a lot of standing so basically a waste of a cover, which is very disappointing considering the amount of potential this place has.

We came here mid day on a Sunday in hopes that it wouldn't be super busy as it gets crazy on the weekend nights. There was a DJ outside which was a fun atmosphere! were able to sit outside at the bar, and had a couple drinks. It was super hot, but there were fans all around so it was comfortable. I initially ordered the froze, but they were out so I went with a frozen lemonade. Service was good, and drinks were what you would expect from a bar that is more of a night club vibe. Cute on the inside too!

Came here last weekend as a must-visit from being a fan of Southern Charm! Definitely noticeable from the street with loud dance music playing. There's a fun outdoor patio with plenty of seating options. It was pretty easy to get a bartender to take our drink order. We ordered espresso martinis and unfortunately they don't have espresso. We received our drinks in small plastic cups and each cost us $12. Felt like a high price tag for the small amount of liquid we received and to be consumed out of plastic. The bar area is super pretty and I imagine this is a really popular spot later into the evening. We had actually tried to come Wednesday evening for food, but their kitchen is only open Friday-Sunday. Just an FYI in case you're coming to enjoy food.

I went to CofC when Upper King wasn't as it is today. Working, becoming a mom, life takes over and I'm 40 having never been to Republic?!? So I went. Soooooo extremely disappointed... the dress code they have listed was not enforced at all, and I was in an expensive dress heels jewelry... So I was the odd one out. i knew it would be a younger crowd which never bothers me, but there was no dancing, no room to breathe... people vaping all over god knows what else. I felt like I needed a shower. It could be beautiful inside but i wouldn't know bc I had to watch every step I took without being knocked over, pushed by men and women alike, in my proper dress code attire. I'm just disappointed in the way it's portrayed and the "reality".

Yes I watch southern hospitality and needed to see what it was all about. It's completely different than the show in my opinion. Entered around midnight in a Friday. Definitely a college bar and way too packed for its space. You could barely move let alone get a drink. It felt dirty and gross. Made our way out back for air. Leva really wants to pack everyone in or get a vip table because that's about all the place is. We were walking and a bouncer guy grabbed My husband and was rude with his words because a waitress needed to get by. Rude and unnecessary. Hopefully it's better during the day but I won't be back. Even overheard a girl talking the next day about how she goes there because her friend lets their underaged friends in. I'm not an old lady but I don't need to deal with that...I get why all the Police gang outside it. Leva, let me know which of your establishment you would hang out at with your friends. That would be more my speed.

It was icky. We went at 3:30pm on a Saturday and the menu I was handed in the 'garden' was dirty. There was so much crusty things on it. My husband got a drink from the slushy machine, I passed. Went to use the restroom and it was icky... sticky. I had higher expectations... glad I went bc I love the show. will not return.

This was the first spot we hit up after landing in Charleston. It was during the day on a Thursday and the outside was packed with peeps. Probably best part of being here is outdoor seating and people watching as you sip your drinks. Drinks are a bit pricey so be weary of your wallet when ordering. They also do frozen cocktails and slushees which is a true Charleston thing. We noticed some people ordering them and getting brain freezes; made us laugh our asses off. Again, people watching at its finest!

My husband and I were in Charleston for my birthday weekend and were starving. We were trying to find somewhere to go for a late lunch. We walked past Republic Garden & Lounge and thought it had a cute outdoor patio. We were seated right away. We ordered jalapeño poppers and a bacon cheeseburger and fries to split. The poppers came out quickly and were so yummy. They came with ranch and Thai chili sauce. The burger was so good! We enjoyed the fries. We also ordered a couple of Moscow mules. Our service was good!

Not a huge fan. Not much to say but that. It's been a while and i wanted to wait before writing a review. There are plenty of places to go in Charleston and this one I would say you can skip. Just isn't really all that.pricing is good but the menu is limited. Staff was polite.

Place sucks, security does absolutely way too much every single one of them are on a power trip drinks suck, services sucks, and overall atmosphere sucks. Good luck going to this place..

Expensive cover charge with over crowded and overrated interior. You need to pay extra to stand on a slightly higher ledge. The bartenders were efficient and the music itself wasn't bad but the overall experience was so overrated.

First time here on Friday night for happy hour over SEWE weekend, and we had a solid time. Although we didn't get one, the carafes priced at half off for $13 sounded verrry appealing. Hung out on the back patio for a bit and saw the band setup and start at 7- only heard their cover of Tiny Dancer before we headed out for dinner but they were GOOD. Very pleasantly surprised! Interesting mix of college kids and some older couples on that evening, come to think of it it was Valentine's Day, so probably not the best time to get a true feel of the atmosphere. Thought the value was spot on, and would come back for the chicken tenders & fries ($8) and their equally suitable companion of the charcuterie board ($20) as a snack before a night out. Must add that we loooved that the board had pita bread as the vessel. Hot, perfect pita bread. It was plenty for 3 of us to share!

Was there for a bachelorette party this past weekend. We had a group of about 12 girls ready to party and spend money since it was our first night there. We had been there for less than an hour and they kicked my friends out for dancing "inappropriately" next to a table that was also dancing. Thought this place was a club? They staff was semi aggressive while kicking them out as well which didn't need to happen at all. Overall, being a southern charm fan, I'm highly underwhelmed with the experience we had. Not sure if it's an ego thing with the new show, but I 10/10 would not go back and I would not recommend this establishment to anyone visiting. Do better!!

Flew in from Ky and are big fans of Southern Charm, so since this is one of Leva's restaurants, we had to check this place out. Looking at the Insta, you get the vibe that this is the kind of place that might not let you in if you don't look like "one of the cool kids". This could not be further from the truth. We went at about 8 on a Wednesday night. The outside bar was open, but they were shooting scenes for their Bravo show on the inside, so we could not go in. Either way, we ordered a couple of drinks and sat down. Very simple cocktail menu (not a bad thing). Strong drinks. The guy bartender on the outside, I didn't catch his name, was probably the nicest human we met on our entire trip. If I lived in Charleston and were a just a few years younger, we would both frequent this place. Lovely atmosphere.

Had an absolutely phenomenal experience at republic! Everything about this place is next level! Julie was also the very best and treated my group so well!!! We cannot wait to come back!!!

Never thought I'd make this club a frequent visit during the weekends. Ignore all the rumors anyone would say about Republic being a pretentious night club. Matt, Morgan, Brett, Brittney, Claire, Robby and Shane (2 years of coming in regularly I've got to learn all their names) have shown they know how to give their a patrons a good time with their quick and excellent service. They have a high volume count within the indoor and outdoor patio but I promise you they'll get to you quick. They don't slip up and the drinks are always *chefs kiss* The bottle girls take good care of you there too if you happen to be at a table. They're sweet and always put a smile on their face. Indoors or outdoors at a table they only bring in the best local DJs to play some great upbeat music Charleston is a college town so they also enforce 21+ rules stricter if you don't want some frat guy puking on you or stealing your girlfirend / fiance / wife. This where the adults go for a good time.

Worst bar service ever! Inside bar tenders are rude and disrespectful. 'Manager' is on a power trip with horrible customer service. I would not recommend this bar. So many other options on King St with more personable bar tenders and overall enjoyable service. I would give Republic zero stars if I could.

Morgan the bartender was awesome. Maybe I'm impartial because he's from my neck of the woods in Atlanta, but my old (38 year old self) had a great, short time at the bar with my old (40 year old) husband. The loaded fries were FAB U LOUS!! I wouldn't lie to you!!

They let us sit at an outside table because it was early and storming really badly. They start setting up for VIP at our table hours in advance, and first of all, there are no covers over the juices. I could have spit in them and no one would have noticed or cared. They put ice buckets on the table too, but no ice. So this Orange Juice is just sitting at our table for hours, as VIP doesn't begin until later. It was at least 4 hours sitting outside, un-iced in the Charleston heat. Absolutely disgusting. VIP starts at $100/person--save yourself the money and the salmonella. According to the FDA, leaving perishable food, which includes orange juice, at room temperature for more than two hours (or just one hour at high temperatures of 90 degrees or above) is a bad idea, as it could allow harmful bacteria like salmonella, E. coli, and Clostridium botulinum, to rapidly spread, which could lead to a serious food borne illness. The food at Republic is so yummy but the ambiance and service is the best. I love the decor and the vibe. Was there multiple times on patio as well as new years eve for table service! Great time!

Checked my account days later and saw a crazy charge from Rebublic. I contacted management and asked for an itemized receipt. I was charged for 11 drinks within an hours time. And the bartender wrote in a tip nearly half of the bill with my forged signature. I explained that it was not my handwriting/signature, that we didn't drink 11 drinks within the hour (we're moms in our 40's ), and tha7t they needed to check their security footage. No reply. I am totally disgusted with being taken advantage of and nothing being done about it. I tried to give this business the benefit of the doubt by contacting them privately, but it was not handled professionally. I've never written a review like this before, but this was so wrong.

My friends and I had a blast.. hands down the best lounge/ night club in Charleston! Such fabulous aesthetic, and fun environment!

Run down, smells like mold, needs a face lift and patio furniture needs to be replaced. Bar tenders were rude.

The last 2 times I tried to go to this establishment, I was not let in. The first time was because my friend was wearing Yeezy slides after her heel broke on her other shoes. I understand most places like this have a dress code so we didn't trip. But, this weekend was a bit outrageous. It was my birthday and I was denied entry because I had on Jordans. JORDANS. To my knowledge, the dress code is casual, which can include sneakers. Knowing and being a part of the demographic that most commonly wears Jordans, I was appalled. Definitely won't be back.

It may seem strange but I love this place on an afternoon. It's just a little too clubby for me in the evening. I like low key places best and this definitely fits the bill earlier in the day. They always have music on the patio and great cocktails. I've tried some light bites and they're pretty good for what appears a cocktail bar. I tried these wagyu sliders once that were out of this world. My most recent visit was just for cocktails and I love the wide array. My favorite part is the patio. You can't beat the atmosphere out there. It's definitely worth checking out.

Came here for a bachelorette weekend and we had a ton of fun! Thomas on security is THE BEST!! Not only did he take care of us, he was able to find Joe, Maddie, Leva and TJ from Southern Hospitality to fulfill the brides love for the show!!!
