Republic Ramen

I came in and thought the place was closed. No one was behind the counter. Took 5 min for someone to help ring me up. I ordered the Dumpling Ramen and was disappointed. The broth wasn’t very savory, just salty. The veggies did not taste fresh. The egg was just straight up hard boiled with no flavor. The noodles were good and the dumplings were the best part. It had been a few years since I’ve last been here but I won’t be coming back. Just not worth it. At least the tables were clean.

I’ve been sick this week and really was craving ramen. However, this ramen was not it. The only thing good about it was the spicy miso. The noodles were a little too thick for my liking. However the egg is where I was not happy. Most ramen eggs are yolky in the middle? This was over boiled to the point where it was grey on the inside. I had to throw it out. The inside environment was really nice and laid back and the customer service was great.

Before and after. I am stuffed, prices are great for the portion, its delicious, I will always come. Staff are friendly and diligent. Don't come on a Friday night unless you wanna deal with a packed house and slow service because of the rush but the line out the door should be every indication of how amazing this place is. My father is a chef and very picky about where he eats. If he doesn't like it he will tell the cook, if he does he will tell the cook, and he will come back. Its honestly kinda annoying lol but I have to be super picky of places I introduce to him... That being said, I introduced him to this place and he loved it just like I expected him to. Once you try it once, you'll be back.

Soooo delicious! I got the Spicy Meso Raman. The picture is AFTER I enjoyed my food and what I will be taking home because the portions are HUGE! Great service. I would highly recommend this place for someone new to Ramen because the staff is knowledgeable and helpful. And well the food is excellent.

Me and my mom have eaten here for 2-3 years and still love it a lot! She gets the republic while I get the miso and we love the broth. We brought other family and friends before and had a great time. I like the atmosphere too! We love the noodles and the other topping options. They serve big portions too so we like to order to go cups. This will always be one of my top favorites!

Meat is completely unseasoned and over cooked, it taste like leather. The broth is very watery and tasteless. my date ordered the garlic truffle and there wasn’t one piece of garlic, just as watery as my meal. seriously wanted to ask for my money back but there wasn’t any one inside anyway so I let them keep the money will never return.

Got the Japanese curry and Tonkotsu ramen, absolutely delicious might be the best ramen we've ever had. Curry was a 10/10 too. Gentleman who took our order and served us our food was very friendly. Portions are HUGE for the price. Don't pass this place up! Will be back 😃

Republic Ramen + Noodle’s spacious seating, high ceilings, and red lantern-style lights make it a fun place to slurp a variety of ramens. Noodles were tender, and broths were delicate with depth. Service was welcoming and efficient.

Tried the edamame, shrimp tempura, kimchi, spicy miso ramen, and curry. Apps were good, pretty standard nothing too unique but good prices! Kimchi was only $2. Spicy miso ramen was not too spicy. Portions were huge which is nice. Overall a decent ramen. Curry was very good. Big portion size and good flavor especially without protein. The restaurant is casual order at the counter and they bring it to you. The workers were so helpful. The guy was friendly, helped us bag up our ramen and clean up at the end. Would recommend for quick ramen stop in tempe.

Came in because it had been a long time since I've last been here but I was super disapointed. I came in and saw no employees. I thought they were closed at first but after like 5 minutes some one came up to the counter. I ordered the Dumpling ramen and really was not thrilled. The vegetables didn't taste fresh. The cabbage was way too overbearing. The egg tasted super bland. The broth wasn't that savory. It was a good portion though and the noodles and dumplings were actually really good. The tables were clean at least. This place used to be so busy and popping but now it's quiet and slow. Pretty let down since the last time maybe new management or something. I won't be back anytime soon.

Delicious!! I love the new ramen menu and got to try many different kinds. I love all of them especially the kimchi ramen and the spicy one. The cucumber kimchi is a must!!! I'll be back!

This is one of the few places that doesn't use pork broth!! I wish they had more locations! Simple, lower key nice spot to get delicious ramen! Only thing I would suggest is to allow for online ordering please

Authentic Ramen with all the options you can dream of. Go spice add extra noodles and have plenty for a second meal tomorrow. The beverage options are epic as well. Try Republic Ramen today.

The tonkotsu ramen was too mild, lacking in flavor and depth. It is a skippable place that is not worth it.

The food was absolutely delicious and full of flavor!! The service was great, but there were a couple dirty/sticky tables that we moved from. Overall, I recommend dining here and definitely ask for their Thai Tea!! I will be coming back!!

Eh. Kind of expensive for the lack luster ramen. BF and I got two ramens for $35 and there were hardly any veggies and the egg was just a dry hard boiled egg. Not a nice jammy soft boiled one. Facilities seem old and in need of a cleaning.

Decent ramen if you need a bite to eat and you are in the area. It was fairly quick and the girl working was very nice and walked us through the order process. You pick your broth, included toppings and protein and then you can have them put additional toppings for extra fee. The ambience here is dark and dingey I would not recommend staying. The tiled floors didn't look clean and it wasn't a comfortable place to dine in. I would definitely get the ramen to go next time.

Honestly, this is probably my favorite ramen spot that I've had in the Phoenix/Tempe area. There is a lot of seating, even for bigger parties. They are always quick in bringing out your order and it never disappoints. My favorite dish is the Republic Ramen with original toppings and chicken as the protein. The flavor is great and I enjoy the spice that it has but they have additional spices you can add if you want more. The portions are pretty generous so I usually end up having to take some of it to-go.

It's a very cold place.. the atmosphere is cold... And, the air was cold... AND they had the ceiling fans on!!!! Very hard plastic chairs... No place to stay awhile!!! Get it to Go! It's good... But, there was no one at the register and the cook saw me standing there as he passed by a couple of times in the kitchen, decided to ask if someone had taken my order. Went to find the person who could put in my order and came back with a very apologetic appearance and asked what I wanted! Very self motivated!! He deserves RAISE!!! He didn't want to lose a customer !! The bowl was very tasty and the pork was fresh tasting,. I never got a check nor an apology.. I guess a slient

We did not care for the broth base in neither the Miso nor tonkatsu Ramen. It had a weird taste about it kind of like the gray water smell when you go behind a restaurant. It took about 15 minutes for us to get our Ramen which seemed a bit slow and I had to ask the cashier to do a wipe down for us because the seating was dirty with food on it. We shared dishes around the table and felt the same about them. The meat was bland and the broth lacked flavor. We were hoping for so much more especially since we were hungry when we went.

I've been coming to this restaurant for quite some time. It's a very easy menu and a very easy ordering process. The food is always excellent and the employees are always friendly. I definitely recommend trying this place if you're looking for quality Ramen.

the ramen here is pretty average. it doesn't taste or look very authentic. we got the miso ramen ($11.45) and spicy miso ramen ($11.45). the serving size is standard for it's price. customer service is ok, but the workers look a bit down. the ambiance is pretty quiet. there's not a lot of customers, despite it being peak lunch hours when we went. the restaurant is spacious with plenty of tables. i highly doubt there's wait times. overall rating: 7/10

Been here a couple times, just walked in and stood for a solid 5 minutes in a very slow restaurant and no one came up, left right away.

The ramen is so good and fresh, one of the best ramen places to eat at. I been getting thier ramen for over 3 years already. Only down fall is that most of their tables are always sticky

I'm always on the lookout for a good ramen takeout. I came in years ago. This place got better with age. Loved the Napa Cabbage with Cracking Pork Ramen. Its soup was light with just enough umami for the base. Napa cabbage was nicely crisp, pork wasn't "crackling" (maybe due to take out) but flavorful, topped with an egg. I would go light on the green onions next time. They offered 2 bento lunch specials. I chose chicken bulgogi. Serving was generous for the price...Chicken was tender and flavored in traditional bulgogi seasoning, included rice, egg omelette cooked with green onion, kimchi, 2 potstickers and noodles. They offered a nice selection of Boba drinks. Tables were clean, ambience is welcoming, staff were friendly. A short wait during lunch, around 8-10 minutes. Worth a trip.

It was a huge ramen soup. Tasty but hope you are hungry. It's a casual fast food restaurant. Decent service but if you've never had ramen, may not be the best place to start.

I should've read the reviews! Was looking for some decent ramen since my favorite place was closed today so I decided to give Republic a try since it was near. Big mistake. There were plenty of red flags before even receiving our dinner like the cashier whom obviously didn't like her job and the diced chicken for ramen? The BIG FACTOR in the reason for this review is the fact that upon FINISHING my ramen and pouring the remains into a to go container and i discover a long hair which obviously was not mine or my spouse whom is blonde. Brought the bowl up front to show what i found an i was met with denial and flat out "idk who did it" when clearly the hair in my food represented the people on staff. The manager and team took no accountability and stated it would not happen next time. There won't be a next time and i suggest the same for anyone, unless your looking for just terrible service and very mediocre ramen w/ a side of human hair. I would not ever suggest this place

Pretty disappointing experience every time I go, but I still wanted to give it another shot. Walked in and waited at the front for about 15 minutes with no service, even after the chef saw me and said hi. After another 10 minutes of waiting with no sign of help, I just left and got Subway next door instead. Where is your staff?

I found this gem years ago and was a regular. I'd drive there from N Scottsdale just to have their Ramen. I met the owner and found out he had gone to Japan to learn how to make Ramen. I gave it 5 stars back then. In the last few years it's changed for the worse. Idk if ownership changed or what. Don't get me wrong. It's still good. But it's not great. Pretty average now and there are better options in the valley now. Too bad.

Very very delicious ramen. Served at a perfect temperature. With all the different ways to have your ramen served, it will be a new adventure every time. I'm still exploring the menu, so I don't have a favorite item yet.

The vegetarian ramen is pretty bland. But the servers are really nice. The boba is good.

Last year this place was THE ramen spot. Just came here and was very disappointed. The staff was very out of it and asked us if we wanted protein in the one ramen bowl three times. The ambience is super chill and quiet. I do still like it, but the quality of the food and staff has gone down.

You must try Republican Ramen + Noodles if you're in Tempe. The noodles are so fresh and amazing. The broth is super flavorful. You can taste the hours of love and care that went into the preparation behind this ramen. The staff is always friendly & accurate. You can choose the protein you want in your ramen: tofu, beef, chicken, pork & even Spam. There are several vegetarian options available on their menu. You order and pay up at the front counter and they'll give you a number to place on your table. Within a few short moments the magic appears right in front of you. The noodles are cooked to perfection and are so flavorful. The portions are enormous and super filling. I love that I can getaway from Tempe every time I step into Republic Ramen. These bowls will take you away.

I hadn't been in at least five years but it was late and I felt like some ramen so I swung by. I think this might have been the worst bowl of ramen I've ever paid money for. The broth ("Tokyo") was flavorless, the noodles were bland, and even the chashu wasn't any good. There was only one other customer in the place and now I know why.

Second time here and if I lived closer, I would come more often. I enjoy a good bowl of ramen and this is a GOOD bowl of ramen. And not the kind that comes out of a package. They had a good selection of broths for their ramen and also a decent selection of udon. Prices are reasonable considering they are giant bowls. I also really liked the selection of "appetizers". Their tempura vEgetables and edamame and really good. Their kimchi is traditional and tangy. All the ramen dishes I have had here are good. I like the decor, and it's a pretty chill atmosphere. Good selection of ramen for a variety of tastes.

You don't have to be from New York to know good ramen. If you are from California you are exposed to great ramen as well. I don't know how I'm the world I was convinced by people to try this place out and they said this was good ramen. It was absolute garbage. As soon as I walked in a saw nothing but Hispanic people at the counter and kitchen, that already threw me off, I'm Hispanic so relax people I get a pass to say that lol. The point is, that it immediately lost authenticity with me right off the bat. The service was subpar, Just young teens serving. The ambience was aight, it's just a building with four walls, felt like I was at an old diner. The food, was terrible, some of the worst ramen I ever had. The ramen tasted like cardboard, the broth tasted like bath water, and my white rice tasted like anything but white rice, I mean how do you mess that up? They hide their horrible quality by giving you quantity. This just ain't it man, I was actually angry to have tried this place, normally I give everything a shot and things are ok but this place was butt cheeks. If you like the taste of butt cheeks then this is your place. Rating 1-5 Vibe: 2 Food: 1 Service : 2.5 Overall : 2

I used to love coming here, I decided to stop by and get my go to miso ramen. When we went to sit down there was a huge cockroach on the wall. Which, that alone should of made me leave but unfortunately I had already ordered my food and I felt bad canceling my order. We told the cashier about the roach and someone from the kitchen came to kill it with a rag. Then we were told the roaches came from next door. I highly doubt that was true because the food also made me super sick a few minutes after. I'm sad to see one of my favorite ramen places become so disappointing.

The service was awesome, I like Republic Ramen noddles they are the best to me. Ambiance is always chill with people coming and going in this busy college side of Tempe. RR was my very first Ramen spot I went to when I started to experience AZ specifically Tempe. FOR ME 'yes capital letters' the food hits all my tastes buds, It's tried and true ramen and if I was still a struggling student this would be home away from home because it's not just affordable but it keeps you humble. Not many restaurants have that affect on me. My favorite part is, if you get your order to go, they package it like you ordered from blue apron or service like that. It's a really a nice touch. There is lots of seating, easy parking and not a long wait, if you beat lunch or dinner rush.

i came here for the first time in about 4 years and i'm very sad to say that this place has gone downhill. the service is not great, all of the workers seemed miserable. :( the broth in the ramen is just watery and flavorless, it's not good at all unfortunately. the egg that they put in the ramen is extremely dry (never had a hard-boiled egg in ramen) and it had a weird taste. the tables were also very sticky. the noodles were not cooked properly, they were a bit hard. on a positive note, the amount of ramen you get for the price is extremely worth it, the bowls are huge! the gyoza was fantastic, i would honestly only come back for that. i'm very sad to be giving this place such a low review, but honestly, there are just WAY better ramen spots. the ramen here just is lacking authenticity, flavor, and love.

Visited today with my mom. Amazing experience! The lady behind the counter was awesome to start! Helped us understand the menu and was so patient while we decided our order! Food was delicious, so good! Tonkatsu was amazing, had it with beef, fresh and I ate the whole bowl!! Clean, beautiful establishment and experience!! Mom loved her miso with chicken!! Thank you!! We will be back!!!

Very impressed with this recommendation my mom and Dad came here and they loved it. This is a great hideaway place in a strip mall, very low key, but amazing. Greeted as soon as you get in the door. Explained it was our first time here and the young lady went over the menu and options throughly to ensure that what we ordered was to our liking. Great customer experience and service, prompt, polite and courteous. I had the Chili Pepper Ramen traditional style w/pork (recommend you get the half order of extra noodles) the flavors and balance of the ingredients were on point. My wife had the Tonkotsu Ramen w/pork, loved the flavor combination that she had and next time I will get that broth with the Chili Pepper Ramen spices. Not tooo many places in the valley can say they are truly Ramen, this place is authentic and reasonably priced. Come out and support Republic Ramen!!!

This place is hands-down, falling apart. I remember when this place used to have amazing food and service. I have been trying to support this business lately and they keep closing early like way early half an hour early I just drove out of my way to come here to try and support them only be told they're closed when they still have half an hour left Complete rubbish this isn't the first time this has happened. Normally if you come to a place half an hour before they close to get food to go you're fine but not even wow no words. the store has people sitting in it and I was turned away, and I wasn't turned away nicely but quite rudely. I even took a picture because I was so perturbed. This will most likely go out of business. You should probably take your business to another location. I will not be coming back

If you post your hours as open tip 10 and I arrive at 9:50 I should be able to place a To Go order. Nope they are turning off the lights at 9:50. Than change your open hours.

Great ramen! The service was amazing, especially from the cashier we met tonight. He was very helpful in boxing and bagging our food to go after dining, and was in a very cheerful mood! The lighting was dim and beautiful.

Meet up with my kid friends and parents here today and we all have Ramen for dinner. It's the first time for me to taste their Ramen. I've ordered Tokyo Ramen, Traditional Style - light and spicy on the pork soup. It was served in a big bowl, very generous on the Ramen, it was good, very light on spices and the noodles are delicious. I like the gyoza for sure. Crispy and flavorful. I would come back for more Ramen in a weather just like today because it was perfect for it. Also, this Ramen restaurant have Boba beverages. The milk tea itself is good, but the boba is just like any other place. Nothing special about it, just regular taste.

For what it is, this place isn't half-bad. The service was impeccable, and the food was more bang for your buck. The staff were able to seat a large group for me and my friends; which was great. What hit different (or perhaps it was the heat earlier plus moving about) was the drink I chose: the dragonfruit mango refresher. Just like the name; incredibly refreshing.

I've never had any issues Ramen Republic with any staff, service, anything of that sort; my main distaste, unfortunately, is with the food. The ramen itself is just not super good. I so love that they take great care into the presentation and the ramen comes out looking so cute and well put together, but the broths I find to be very inauthentic. It's not that the food is so bad, for what it is, it's just not really ramen to me. I think when they first opened the food was a little bit better, but still there is better ramen near by, for the price. Sadly I won't be coming back, and I can't totally say I'd recommend it; however, if fresh toppings options and location are importanyc to you, it may be worth a try.

Would be nice if they operated by posted hours instead of closing 60/30mins early and not allowing us to dine in. This has happened more than once. Place is going down the toilet smh. Used to love this place

I arrived 30 min prior to closing but was still able to order to go. I was pleased to have been able to purchase sake as well. Service was great and fast.

The best place for a quick stop of ramen and boba at great prices! Good for small or big groups with lots of parking. Lots of variety in the menu as well.

Spicy miso broth tasted like dirty mop water. No I'm not joking. There was a bleach smell in it. Female cashier seemed coming down off a green out or very hungover, but male manager was understanding of my issue and gave me a free boba- but did not refund me the ramen that I physically could not eat more than a bite of. My gf tho loved her food, so I'm giving an extra star cuz it was only my food that was bad. Definitely not coming back. Wasn't worth the bike ride there and the $40.

It's a decent spot for ramen. Wish they gave more noodles and meat but flavor of ramen was decent and overall a good fast casual spot.

Last minute decision to go get ramen as our original dinner plans fell thru since the place was closed. Republic Ramen delivered in the food department for sure, at least for what we had. The Chilli Pepper Ramen broth is legit and flavourful. The broth is the soul of ramen, and I didn't expect this place to deliver at that level. I recommend. They did have a hard time with slight modifications though. We wanted no protein and replace with extra veggies, but they said no. That was weird.

The first time I came here I really liked the food and mango green tea. I came with my boyfriend, he thought it was fine, I loved it. I thought it was great portion and convenient for take out. The only thing I didn't like was the cashier asking me to Venmo her a tip because tipping her at the end of cashing out, doesn't entirely go to her. The second time I came here with my boyfriend again, it felt like the staff were really stressed and having a hard night. I didn't mind waiting as I was excited for the mango tea!!! But sadly the tea didn't taste the best this time, as if it wasn't stirred fully? And it had Bona when we said no Boba. After drinking it I felt incredibly nauseous. I came here with a headache and after eating it honestly made it worse. The broth was good, everything else was worse this time, than the first time. It felt like I paid $45 for food poisoning.
