"At Republic Restoratives in Ivy City (1369 New York Avenue NE) I noted the LGBTQ‑owned distillery’s activist bent and small‑batch spirits lineup — Civic Vodka, Purpose Rye, and Madam whiskey — the latter an $89 blended bottle (7‑year bourbon and 5‑year rye) wrapped with a presidential‑style portrait by local artist Lex Marie; the Madam whiskey returned to production with deliveries restarting the week of July 25, and the brand offered a social giveaway in which three tagged followers would each win a free bottle shipped anywhere in the country, with winners randomly selected on Friday, August 26." - Tierney Plumb
