"We can't decide what we love most about Reserve: the longest wine list in West Michigan, a locally sourced and inspired menu or the fantastic service. Their stylish interior sets the tone for refreshing lunches, intimate dinners and boozy private parties—trust us, we can throw back the champagne at Reserve. If you're having a hard time choosing just one item on the menu, order a wine flight or an expertly paired charcuterie and cheese plate." - Fairly Painless

"Reserve Wine and Food in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, is known as the go-to spot for cheese and charcuterie as well as their exceptional wine program, but it has so much more to offer. Serving dinner five nights a week, Reserve emphasizes modern day classics with a focus on quality and consistency across the board, whether for appetizers and drinks or a leisurely meal."

I didn’t expect to be so underwhelmed by Reserve. I had heard many good things from friends and had high expectations for my experience, especially because it was my birthday. From the start, it wasn’t the best experience. Our waiter came over and it was clear we were just another table. There was no real attempt to be personable and it seemed as if his whole personality was rehearsed. The drinks, overpriced. The old fashioned was one of the worse ones I’ve had in the city. The food, underwhelming. And when it came to dessert, that was honestly the best part. It just doesn’t seem worth the price point when there are other comparable restaurants that blow Reserve away in every sense. And on a personal note, it was super sad to tell a place I’m celebrating my birthday and have no effort or anything made to acknowledge it. That’s obviously neither here nor there, but still a disappointment.

Everything was beautiful and the ingredients top notch. The flavors were also excellent! Only thing I would have liked to be better is had the sauce stuck more to the gnocchi, the sauce had a great flavor but just kind of ran off it so it took bread to get that great flavor.

My dear friend took me on a date here for my Birthday. The food was absolutely phenomenal. The dishes were like an art, perfectly set up and unique pairings. We went with several appetizers and shared a pasta dish, a dessert and we both had a drink. We were definitely satisfied with the portions; they weren't huge by any means but they were decent enough. The downsides were 1. We sat outdoors and the service was incredibly slow. I'm talking, it took over 2.5 hours start to finish, and it wasn't because we were indecisive. The other downside (which totally wasn't their fault) was a young family sat directly next to us with 2 young children, and one of them would randomly shriek scream. I'm a mother of 2 young children and I absolutely believe children are welcome in public. It was just very loud and would catch us off guard. Spending nearly $200 on a nice dinner, you want to be able to fully enjoy it!

Enjoyed our visit to Reserve tonight on Valentine's Day. The food was excellent. The duck was one of the better renditions we've had. The carved sirloin was perfectly cooked, and the sauce that came with it was amazing. The atmosphere and cleanliness is top notch. The cocktails were just ok, but that's not too surprising since Reserve's focus is wine. The service is very relaxed, so prepare to spend some time here.

Love love love Reserve!! Always the best atmosphere, food and drinks + service in town— and while it may be a wine bar, they take their cocktail making seriously and elevate any mixed drink you could ever order or try. Loved the Snowbird last night, celebrating another trip around the sun for a birthday celebration. Let’s talk about that seabream entree, though: WOW. I haven’t had a fish dish cooked like this, to perfection, since literally being in Crete (Greece) this past year. Absolutely stunning, including the presentation and cutting at our table. Thank you for a perfect dining experience, time and time again. Love you, Reserve!

Google
Highly recommend. Every single dish that our tabled ordered was amazing. Our server, Chris, gave great recommendations and outstanding service. The patio is also nice and has a canopy so you don’t have to be in direct sunlight.

Google
Thank you to our serve for the outstanding service up at the bar! He made an amazing suggestion to get the Pork Chop! It is unlike anything you can get in Grand Rapids. It is caramelized on the outside, sprinkled with cheesy bites, and laid on a bed of delicious grits. Along side it also has pickled apples which are surprisingly one of the best parts. We also got a burger that is on special every Tuesday and it was very good and affordable. FYI I’m a pretty sure the Reserve has every wine bottle you can think of lol Highly recommend 🤩🤩

Google
Our experience was okay. We ordered a bottle of wine, 3 piece cheese board, 2 pastas, an entree and two desserts. I poured most of the bottle of wine myself. I will say the waiter did pour it once after the initial opening and did have 4 tables one being an 8 top. The entrees (pork Ragu, seafood linguine, and duck breast) were all cold, however tasted good. We didn’t say anything because again they tasted good we just wished they were warm… not even hot. Just warm haha. Then we ordered desserts, my boyfriend was excited to have the cherry citrus sorbet. He had wanted a sorbet at a pervious restaurant and they were out. It was also his 30th birthday. Unfortunately, the citrus must have been grapefruit because all you could taste was bitterness. No cirtus, no tart or sweet cherry flavor. Just bitter. The waiter did stop by to apologize for forgetting a candle for him… which was disappointing but fine. However, my boyfriend being more outspoken than me asked for the icecream (pistachio lime) instead. I was excited that perhaps the waiter would then put the candle in there to only be disappointed once again. My boyfriend did really enjoy the icecream so I am happy for that sake. I don’t think I will be returning or recommending this restaurant to anyone due to the expectation and lack of execution.

Yelp
Holy sh*t. It would take me the length of the book of Genesis to properly describe the transcendent experience I had while dining - no: truly living - at Reserve. I've had some crazy meals in Grand Rapids, but this establishment has to take the cake. Their menu seems to rotate pretty frequently so I won't delve too deep into the specifics of my three course meal, but let me tell you that it blew me away. Flavors, textures and aromas so complex, so perfectly balanced, SO delicious that my eyes were rolling in the back of my head with every bite. Everything is sourced as locally and as sustainably as possible, and by god it comes through in the dishes that, frankly, belong in a museum. A proper meal combined with a proper friend at Reserve is sure to cure ANY blight you may have come upon (except financial hardship, this place is not cheap). Treat yourself and/or others to this exquisite experience if you are able and willing.

Yelp
Several of us had a lovely dinner at Reserve recently, although I felt it was not quite as good as the last time I ate here. I remember feeling really 'wowed', but not this time. Very pretty & stylish dining room. Portions are generally smaller & meals are pricey. Our server seemed to disappear for awhile. Not collecting drink orders for quite awhile. I had the scallops, which were good but not AMAZING. A friend had the beef, & she really enjoyed it. I didn't understand them being all spread out around the edges of the plate, like numbers on a clock. Seemed like they got cold fast. The other friend had the entree size pasta of the gnocchi, which looked great & she really enjoyed.

Yelp
Started off great but service really lacked. We had a reservation at 7:30 and arrived early, and had a show at 9:30. We had to wait and wait to get service and the check at the end of service. The food was awesome we loved the tomatoes and whipped cheese and the steak was great! Wine recs we're on point. Just 3 stars because service was very disappointing. I was a server at one point so I understand and usually don't review on that but it was really really lacking for our visit.

Yelp
Very impressed by this place!! I will definitely be coming back here for amazing farm-to-table food and over 900+ wines to choose from! Made a reservation for the patio and enjoyed the French 75 which was made with gin, citrus and sparkling wine which was refreshing on such a nice summer day. My next drink was the Buick Riviera which was delicious as well. For an appetizer, we tried the Squash Blossoms which was whipped ricotta, pepitas, lavender honey, fennel pollen, white balsamic, and perfectly toasted toast! Absolutely enjoyed all these flavors in my mouth! My main meal was the market fish, which I unfortunately forgot what kind of fish.. but it was cooked to perfection with some well seasoned greens. The entire entree plate was almost a form of art to me. It was too pretty to not take several photos of. Unfortunately, we were too full to try any dessert which is what I'm going to try for next time I make it out here. The inside and outside of this place looked very fancy and nice! The service was extremely on point and very professional and knowledgeable. Our server was absolutely amazing and seemed to have a great knowledge of everything on their menu and sold me on almost everything she brought up. The price was worth it to me. 10/10 would come back and enjoy something new next time.

Yelp
Ok this is a top restaurant. Reserve came highly recommended to us and it lived up to the hype. We came for dinner in December. Vibe: cool, sophisticated Food: unique, delicious, lot's of great options for a date night/special occasion or for just a fun night out. We had oysters which I was surprised were better than some of the oysters we typically get on the East Coast. Seafood pasta and a steak were also excellent. Good portions to try a few different items, which we love to do. Service: perfect. So kind and attentive. We felt so welcome here. I can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Came her on a girlfriends weekend after reading a blog about how amazing this place was... I'm not going to lie, upon arrival I was a little disappointed that seating was closed on the second floor, the first floor seemed a bit basic, simple vibes. Long story short, we viewed the menu and were hesitant to order dinner so we considered just appetizers and drinks. But one thing led to another...after sampling some recommended wines by our waiter (who was on point by the way), he suggested trying their oysters, so we did, and omg, delicious! Then he suggested some cheeses and meats, again, wow! Entree suggestion as well, on point! And finally dessert! We had the best experience and everything was delicious! I've already shared my experience with many friends and family and they've got this place bookmarked to visit!

Yelp
Sorry, not sorry that the most recent reviews reflect our experience. Lots of $$$, not lots of quality. A place this expensive, that extravagantly hypes itself, needs to consistently hit, and at least innovate. Walked by this place today after the theater and had to glare, still feel robbed. Other than that it was a gorgeous day, Broadway at DeVos with a live orchestra, Art Prize, and many much better restaurant choices in abundance! Downtown GR is awesome!!!!!!!!

Marianne G.

Yelp
We only stopped here for drinks. They were totally full (on a Tuesday) and the wait was over an hour. Even though it was 95° out, we sat on the patio because it was immediate seating. Our server was mostly polite, and our drinks came out quickly. Ill go back, but with a reservation.

Yelp
If you're a wine connoisseur, Reserve is your spot. Located in downtown Grand Rapids right next to the Amway Grand Hotel, it's a wine lover's dream. My family made a reservation for their second floor outdoor terrace as part of my dad's 65th birthday wine crawl. It was the best stop by far. Here's why: 1) Menu: Of course, it's full of wine- bottles, glasses, white, red, rose, international, they have every kind of wine. The staff are knowledgeable on the menu and can recommend one to meet your standards. I ordered a crisp riesling and didn't regret it. The menu also includes food. Our cheese board, stone fruit salad, and squash blossoms were delicious and well portioned. 2) Service: It was very attentive and engaged. In our two-hour visit, we had several staff members help us. Each was friendly. 3) Space: It's beautiful. For our group of nine, we had the second floor outdoor terrace to ourselves on a Saturday at 4:30pm. It was a peaceful setting. 4) Prices: Compared to other Grand Rapids spots, the prices are steep, but if you're coming from a major American city, the prices won't shock you. I highly recommend the Reserve!

Yelp
I have been here twice now for work dinners and both times I wasn't impressed. The portions are miniature and the food is average. This last dinner I was there and got butterball gnocchi to go for my wife which actually was tasty but for $19 the portion was beyond ridiculous. I honestly don't know if they accidentally gave me too little or that was the actual size. Overall, decent food, average atmosphere, over priced for portion sizes. You can pass on this place.

Yelp
Reserve didn't make the best impression. My party of 2 arrived at 6:23 for a 6:30 restaurant and we were asked to wait in the foyer, even though the restaurant was essentially empty. I would have appreciated if the hostess explained that our table was still being prepared and that we were welcome to sit at the bar or something. Thankfully, the rest of the experience made up for this early blunder. I started with a sparkling wine cocktail, and it was lovely. We began with the corn ribs appetizer, and it was nice and tasty! The corn was perfectly roasted and dressed with smoky seasonings and dusted with cheese. I also tried the roasted shishito peppers as an appetizer. The dish was garnished with squid ink and was also delicious. My main course was the duck, with cherry sauce and pasta. The dish was presented elegantly and the duck was cooked to a perfect medium rare. I finished with some dessert and an espresso and can say that Reserve gave me a great meal!

Yelp
Excellent food and staff. Menu is always exciting to check out. Don't pass this place by .. would be your mistake. Charcuterie board joint!

Lauren B.

Yelp
Came here for a work dinner and this place blew me away. Our waiter was incredibly knowledgeable and guided us through the food and drink menu. He took my request for a glass of white wine somewhere between dry and sweet and his choice was a delicious riesling. He did this for a few of the other people I was dining with and everyone loved his choice. Having built our trust we decided to also let him choose our charcuterie board. He picked a nice blend of goat cheese and cheddar along with prosciutto and salami. The presentation was great and came with a mix of toasted baguettes, pickles, pickled raddish and honey. The menu changes frequently so I won't go any further into entrees but the food was phenomenal. We ended the night with the apple wasabi sorbet and hot chocolate cake with housemade marshmallows. Wonderful dining experience. Would recommend to anyone visiting town and looking for a unique restaurant!

Yelp
For a date night, I made a reservation online ($25 per person fee that goes towards your meal) and got a spot on their upper outdoor terrace. It was shaded and could enjoy the warmth without baking in the sun on a 90° day. We ordered a variety of things and everything was good per usual. While the server shared her opinion, and it was very honest, she did mention that some of the serving sizes were bigger but I wasn't anticipating that they'd be smaller than I thought because of the comment. I'd say the sizing was perfect if you were hungry, but I wouldn't say it'd be enough if you were starving! Definitely load up on more apps if that's the case. Otherwise the perfect size. I always love the atmosphere of The Reserve and don't frequent it often, as it is a little pricey, and I like to try other restaurants in the city instead of constantly going back to the same place. It does provide a unique menu and great ambiance, so I know I'll be back again, but maybe in another year or two since I know they mix up their menus often.

Yelp
Interesting! Sat at the bar to wait 10 minutes for water. Asked for lemon and ice in my water twice and the bartender that was more busy counting his tips couldn't even get that right. Hopefully the food is better than the service. Oh wait the bartender is doing shots with the cook. lol this place is a joke

Yelp
I've been to Reserve a handful of times and have enjoyed my experience there, but sometimes you just want a burger. Well, we decided to get some takeout from Reserve and ordered some burgers during COVID! They were running a special "diner" menu for that week I believe so we got a classic cheeseburger with pork fat fries, a smash burger with chips, an heirloom lettuce salad, and a cookie! Ordering online was super simple and picking up was quick. The food was all packaged really nicely in biodegradable containers. The burgers were great! Flavorful, juicy, and topped perfectly. The pork fat fries are very thick cut, I prefer thinner cut fries most of the time, but they were still delicious. The Dutch crunch bun was interesting; it has a sweet flavor that I didn't really care for but I really like savory foods. The star for me was actually the salad! I wasn't expecting much, but the dressing was super creamy and tangy, and the salad itself was farmers market fresh. The addition of the brown butter breadcrumbs really added a savory crunch. It was so well done! I'd definitely order that salad again.

Joy J.

Yelp
It's been years since I have been here. I was excited for my visit. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. We ordered the roasted chicken and the seafood linguine. Most of the potatoes served with the chicken were slightly raw. And most of the seafood in the linguine was overcooked. I don't normally write reviews, but I was just so disappointed with the food. I would most definitely come back for charcuterie. But most likely won't ever order off the food menu again. I did enjoy the drinks and the staff were pleasant.

Kyle V.

Yelp
My wife and I had a great dinner outside on the patio, but the service was very slow. We were celebrating a special occasion and the staff was in the loop because our family made our reservation to surprise us. The staff was very friendly and continued to apologize with how slow the service was. It seemed that they were trying very hard to not rush us and didn't put our next course in until we finished the previous, but that's just a guess. They claimed the cheese guy was very backed up and surprisingly, the cheese board was the slowest thing we ordered. We started with the Corn Ribs and they were delicious and we wished it was a larger portion. We followed that with a customized cheese board which was average and took forever to arrive. For our main course, my wife had the chicken and dumplings while I had the truffle burger. We both enjoyed our dinners. They surprised us with a dessert and a message, which was very thoughtful. I'm sure we would come back but we were there for 2.5 hours, which is crazy with their limited capacity rules.

David S.

Yelp
To the bartender on the night of 11/28 that ignored us completely as we stood there in our full Christmas Carol Regalia...... thank you for saving us the time of EVER coming here again! The menu was way over priced, by the time we were waited on I was told the cocktail I wanted was not availabe because cucumbers were "out of season" what a joke I'm sure they are 3 for 1.79 at Meijer this week, but I'm sure that would be below this place! So yeah thanks the service we did get was genuine and kind, after standing there for 10 mins not greeted by the main bartender that evening! Do not recommend, will not recommned, and will not be back! Enjoy!

Sandy T.

Yelp
The best charcuterie board I've had. The cheese, the meat, the honey, everything on this board was fantastic. The entrees, however, are not as good. Average taste for a hefty price. Servers are professional and knowledgeable, but the host is not friendly at all.

Susan M.

Yelp
One of the most professional wait staff in Grand Rapids. Great wine list. Creative cocktails. Best cheese and charcuterie board ever!

James F.

Yelp
This place keeps disappointing us. We'll have one great meal there and it will be almost invariably followed by an e trembly mediocre one. Even the same menu items are often inexplicably different. Take the fried pork chop. Few months ago i I had it and it was easily one of the best meals I've had in GR since I moved here. Had it a week or so ago and it was dry and flavorless. I don't know how you deep fry something and make it dry, but they managed. Also the wait service inexplicably was unwilling to modify a companions meal, when the item she requested to remove turned out to be a flavorless, grainy polenta that added literally nothing to the dish beyond a means of sticking the over cooked pork chop to the plate. I guess there is an A And B crew in the kitchen, or they are having difficulty with the chef situation in the back. The last meal I ate here will be the last for some time. Not with the price you pay to have a mediocre meal that isn't appreciably better than what I can do with a quality piece of meat on my own. The wine and drink service is great, the bar well stocked, and the new sommelier deserves credit for stepping up the wine game at this place. But for the time being I won't be joining their wine club, can't justify eating here until they figure out how to make one meal relatively similar to the next.

D C.

Yelp
First time and not impressed. Service was really nice but it was like them leading the blind. Recommendations were super sub-par. Don't just push the most expensive items. Food was not good, charcuterie was good, salad not par and entrees not good at all. Wine is exceptionally overpriced. I wish I didn't order desert. All and all a very expensive waste of a dinner. I am tired of searching for a good quality meal in Grand Rapids MI!!

Britta M.

Yelp
Reserve is the perfect spot for a trendy downtown date night out, corporate meeting, or a night of laughter over cheese boards and wine flights with the girls. As such, I have been to Reserve an obscene amount of times in the past year, and have yet to be disappointed. First off, their happy hour rocks. You can get a delicious grilled cheese or burger with pork fat fries for $8, a few pasta dishes for even less, and select cocktails and wine for $5. All delicious, so if price is preventing you from stopping in, head in before 6pm and enjoy! The cheese boards. OMG. Their cheese menu has about 10 cheese options to choose from and they are ever rotating with unique and incredible flavors like "Dorothea potato gouda" (PLEASE keep this one forever), "Nettle" with hints of mint and sage (amazing), and all types of jams, honey, mustards, etc to take them over the edge. Their dinner portions are very small, very tasty, very pricey, and very beautifully presented. Their cocktails are always delicious and perfectly strong if you can manage to take your eyes away from their incredible extensive wine menu. And if you leave room for dessert I'd definitely recommend the S'mores option. Our servers are always attentive, knowledgeable, and kind.... even when we badger them with extra bread requests for our cheese boards! haha My love affair with Reserve isn't going anywhere!

Ruchira R.

Yelp
loved everything about this place. service- spectacular! the hostess was very friendly and welcoming, the waitress was extremely knowledgeable and knew her wine and cheese pairing really well! whoever we interacted with at this restaurant was just really nice. food- they source all of their ing locally and the taste reflects just that! we ordered the small charcuterie board with 3 different cheeses. the chèvre was my favorite! there was a brie like cheese which was the second best..the potato Gouda cheese definitely needed the strawberry spread to bring out its flavors. the board comes with little baguettes, honey, apples, candied pecan and macademia nuts on a bed of strawberry purée...highly recommend getting a charcuterie board!! vegetarian pasta. it was a tortellini filled with cheese in pesto sauce and had carrots, peas and some greens in it. omg it was great! my dad had the rabbit roulade and he thoroughly enjoyed it! Mille fuille - our waitress recommended this and boy was it the best way to end an amazing meal. good food really makes your day and if you want to make your tummy's day, I'd highly recommend this place!

Rachelle O.

Yelp
Had a girls night out at Reserve and it was wonderful! We each had wine flight and chose to order a glass from the flight. We shared a large charcuterie board and asked for the chef to choose the meats and cheeses and they could not have been better! Our server, Andrea, was the best! Such a nice, relaxed atmosphere; cannot wait to come back

Beth A.

Yelp
Came here for dinner prior to going to the orchestra on a Friday night. Highly recommend you reserve in advance, as the place was packed. We were seated on the 2nd floor. We started off with a 3 item charcuterie which was delicious, and came with additions of honey, mustard, fresh bread and other pairings. For dinner I had the market fish which was a grilled sea bass which was perfectly cooked. My boyfriend had the chicken and dumplings which he enjoyed. My dinner was paired with white wine. We used Reserve's deal of buy one entree get one entree free for February which is an excellent deal. Otherwise I probably would not have dined here due to the higher meal prices, but it's a really nice place to go for a fancy evening out!

Nora O.

Yelp
Really on the fence between 2 and 3 stars. We came in for a nice dinner and I was disappointed by the time I left. The restaurant itself is decorated well and is very welcoming. The menu gave me high hopes bc it has some really great option and great wine. Pros: -server was kind and able to make some good recommendations -charcuterie board was amazing!! -many great cheese options for the charcuterie board Cons: -wine was good but overpriced -we both ordered the gnocchi and received the cacio e pepe, which was rather cool and the sauce wasn't enough to cover all of the pasta. The person I was with is too easygoing to send food back so we just kept our plates and didn't say anything but entrees we're very disappointing. The pasta wasn't Al dente either. -menu is overpriced Overall I wouldn't recommend for a nice dinner unless you want to gamble and receive what you didn't order. The food is overpriced too especially the pasta which wasn't very good. There's much better options in downtown GR for a nice dinner at more affordable prices.

Sarah C.

Yelp
I don't usually write reviews, but this restaurant has a very high price point and I just expected a better experience. I hadn't been to Reserve in at least 5 years prior to this dinner, but previously enjoyed it. I went with four other girls for a birthday party on Friday night. Reservation was easy to make and we were seated quickly. Ambiance there is always nice. The good: Our server was pleasant and very knowledgeable. My wine was OK but expensive. The other girls generally enjoyed their cocktails; one of my friends actually didn't care for hers and they were nice enough to replace it with a different one. The charcuterie board that they put together for us was excellent. They were very helpful with our dietary restrictions and we all enjoyed it. Three of the girls ordered the sea bream and raved about it. The bad: We ordered 12 Prince Edward Island oysters that were the special for the evening. When they arrived, we only had six PEI oysters and six were from New Zealand. When we asked the runner why we had two different kinds, he shrugged and said "they must've run out." I would have appreciated a heads up from the server because the New Zealand oysters were certainly not as good. I ordered the carbonara pasta with sausage. It was lukewarm when it arrived, and had the consistency of reheated Kraft mac & cheese. (ie the sauce was thickened and stuck to the pasta.) I only ate about a third of it and then set it aside. When a different server came and took it away, he didn't ask if it was OK, or even if I wanted a box. Finally, three of the five girls from our party ended up with gastrointestinal distress the following day. Overall I would probably only return for a glass of wine and a charcuterie board. My entrée was subpar and I just expected better. I am still disappointed in how much money I spent on this dinner. There are several other high end restaurants in town where I would have rather eaten.

Sarah B.

Yelp
One of my favorite happy hours in Grand Rapids! The large cheese board for 13$ is amazing! So so so many options to pick from and comes with a nice array of fruits and nuts. The Marcona almonds are super delicious too. There was plenty of wine options, I settled for a savvy on Blanc and also try to the French 75 cocktail. Both were very tasty and I thought the price was fair, especially for being right downtown. I have heard that the seafood linguine is to die for, but I have not yet been for dinner service. This will be a really fun place for a girls night, birthday dinner, or lunch with mom. For some reason, it strikes me as more of a girls place. The Gold, modern and luxurious interior design is undoubtedly appreciated by all, though!

Laura T.

Yelp
Really great food and a nice upscale but simple atmosphere. The focus is the food! We had a great dining experience here. I felt they took all of the necessary covid precautions such as wearing masks and keeping distance. We had a group of 7 and everyone loved their food. We had a few appetizers such as the meatballs and roasted peppers. Phenomenal! I had the truffle mushroom soup and a pasta. It was so amazing! I definitely recommend. You won't be disappointed!

Kyle S.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere and great service. Food has room for improvement. Had the pork chop, and while prepared in a very unique way, it was by far the worst pork chop I've ever had. I would definitely not recommend this to anyone who appreciates a good steak or pork chop. Very disappointed in the food. We were visiting from Detroit...I'm sure Grand Rapids has better to offer...maybe on our next visit.

Jordan C.

Yelp
I attended a friend's birthday gathering here and was more than amazed by the atmosphere, incredible service, and the presentation of both food and drink. I believe Tom was the name of the gentleman guiding us through our evening. Tom was incredibly knowledgeable, detailed, and made solid recommendations (his description of the menu items made me quite indecisive because he made everything sound incredible). This restaurant truly raised the bar in quality service, food, and beverage. This was my first time visiting Grand Rapids, and Reserve left me with fond memories of an incredible night with great food and friends. Thank you to everyone at Reserve Wine & Food.

Yelp
Loved this restaurant! Went for Valentine's Day with my significant other. Wonderful staff, food, and drinks! Would recommend 100%! Will go again when we return to GR.

Yelp
Stopped in on a Thursday evening around 7pm - we were greeted promptly and taken to a table of our choosing. From the moment our server greeted us until the moment I had to run back in to retrieve my phone (that I forgot on the table) - we had a 5 star experience. Service - outstanding. Not only was our server knowledgeable about the wine and food - but his excitement about it was contagious. His recommendations were on point and he was eager to share and let us experience. Great job! Wine - lovely wine list with tons of options. Something for everyone & not all of them are outrageously priced. They do offer 20% off list price if you purchase a bottle to go! Food - amazing! The calamari app was delish! not your normal calamari - SO GOOD. I had the salmon and it was cooked perfectly (medium rare) and it was the perfect size. beautiful dish & even better tasting. Reserve has such a classy and upscale ambiance - but it is a great place to grab a drink and chat or bring someone for a wonderful meal. Versatile and fun. Looking forward to coming back for one of the mouth watering charcuterie boards!

Yelp
Reserve does a fantastic job with their food and wine. Located among the hype of downtown GR's Monroe Street, Reserve is a fun place for drinks & dinner alike. Weather permitting, the outdoor patio tables are a great addition, with plenty of heaters to ensure comfortable dining temperatures. We were able to get in on a Friday night and stayed very warm outside! We began with cocktails *PRO TIP: the cocktails are under the "by the glass" category on the menu. This was strange and hard to locate. I enjoyed the "Baby You're Driving" it was sweet yet well balanced. Emily enjoyed her sazerac though it came without a garnish which seemed odd. Their wines are also great and they have plenty of unique options. I highly recommend the cheese & charcuterie boards here at Reserve. Lots of local cheeses are featured and I particularly enjoyed the chèvre from Evergreen Farm & Creamery in Fennville! Seriously it was one of the best goat cheeses I've ever had! Smooth in consistency, light, citrus notes and a mild finish. The sweet corn agnolotti was beautiful in presentation, but I found it to be overly acidic. It needed more sweetness, and more umami components to balance out the acidity in the citrus goat cheese and the overpowering balsamic vinegar. Though the homeade pasta itself was al dente and smooth. The cacio e pepe was to die for! I am a huge fan of this classic dish, and the abundance of burgundy black truffle shaved on top of homeade noodles was everything I hoped for. I tend to prefer a bucatini shape for this dish, but the short noodles were still great and well prepared. I'm ordering this again, no doubt! Emily thoroughly enjoyed her truffle burger. It was large in size and she added an egg to the top. The fries were thick and I believe they were cooked in duckfat for extra flavor. The bright brothy Italian dish the Breanne ordered was good but underwhelming. She noted that the little purse shaped noodles themselves were delicious, but seemed to be unimpressed by the broth. The Caesar salad is fresh and mild, yet creamy, though it is made with a variety of lettuce types (rather than the classic romaine). I found our waiter last night to be a bit pretentious and he didn't nail our drink orders, however, my other experiences with the staff as a whole have been promising. In summary, The Reserve does a great job with their food, their wine menu is extensive and unique, the cocktails (once we found them) were fancy and enjoyable. Cheers!

Yelp
We were impressed with the atmosphere, food, drinks and service at Reserve. We went in on a Sunday night, it wasn't super busy inside but the tables outside were nearly full. Our server Jason was friendly, knowledgeable and prompt. My husband ordered a mezcal margarita - while they were out of mezcal, Jason quickly suggested a blanco tequila substitute with scotch for a smoky rim. My husband liked it so much he ordered a couple of them. We ordered pork fat fries to start and they came out hot and seasoned just right (salt). The garlic mayo was really good with them, we ordered a second side of that. For entrees, I ordered chicken and dumplings and my husband got a 1/2 order of the seafood linguine. The chicken and dumplings was much different than i expected, but in a nice way. The dish could have used a little richer broth, but it was tasty nonetheless. My husbands pasta had a great flavor and he said the seafood in it was cooked perfectly. I give reserve 5 stars because everything was wonderful!

Yelp
This might be the best restaurant my wife and I have tried in Grand Rapids so far! Incredible food and drink. The menu is intelligently put together, the food is perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The chef clearly knows their stuff as all the ingredients work in perfect harmony with each other. Drinks were also fantastic, well-crafted by bartenders who knew their stuff. Can't wait to come back and try all the other items on the menu that we didn't have enough room for!

Yelp
Service was great but wasn't very impressed with the food especially for the price. My ravioli was extremely salty. The prices are very high for the teeny amounts you get. Every dish is so small, so don't expect to split any dishes with people. If you come here for a meal, expect to pay a high price to get enough food to actually fill you up. Love the ambience of the place and I would recommend stopping in for just a drink and maybe charcuterie however I would go elsewhere for food.

Yelp
I sat at the bar, went by myself after a hectic day of work. The bartender was so friendly and attentive. I sat there for well over 3 hours, had 4 glasses of wine and a charcuterie board that was amazing. They had a great charcuterie selection and wine collection. I didn't try any of their signature cocktails but they looked yummy as I watched him make them. Would definitely come back.

Yelp
Food was good, service was good they were even able to split a bill of a large party which is rare. I would go back again. I wasn't blown away though for price vs. portions and taste.

Yelp
This is a great place to partake in a bit of the nectar while enjoying a tasty meal. Its a nice spot to bring a date or to just chill with a good glass of wine. Though I will elaborate and expand on this review as I try more dishes I can start by recommending what I've had and enjoyed. My suggestion would be to share two entrées. The Vietnamese Caramelized Catfish and the Winter Farmers Hash. It's a perfect combination of vegetables and two absolutely delicious pieces of fish. Though it likely pairs better with a Chardonnay I need to throw out a mention on a couple of reds I tried. If you're just coming for a glass of wine and like Malbec I'd highly recommend the Tres Sabores. The Colomé was also right down my alley. If I lived closer to Grand Rapids I'd probably join the wine club. So many choices and so little time... The staff here was also great. I'll definitely be back when I'm in town.

Yelp
The food was fantastic. We had a charcuterie board, shrimp and grits, grilled cheese gnocchi, red drum, and s'mores. My husband had a mezcal cocktail which he enjoyed a lot. Everything tasted great. However, service was abysmal. We were barely greeted, nothing on the menu was explained to us, and then we waited nearly an hour for our charcuterie, all while watching other tables progress through their meals and receive their courses in a timely manner. We had to flag down our server to order our entrees even though she was spending time at tables right next to us, and she basically avoided eye contact with us whenever she walked by and never offered an apology for the wait (we were seated right next to the kitchen so she walked by a lot). We endured a similarly long wait for our entrees. We were not made to feel welcome at all and, as a result, don't feel that I can recommend or would want return to Reserve in the future.

Yelp
I live in downtown Chicago- and this restaurant was in my top 10 best dinners and experiences. This place is 10/10- I cannot recommend it enough. Wine flights were incredible, food was incredible, service was impeccable. Please please dine here and Enjoy!

Yelp
Great food and ambiance. The charcuterie board and heirloom salad was amazing. Not as impressed with the Ribeye or Salmon. Desert was fantastic. The ice cream was incredible. Service was top notch, best service we have experienced since Covid started.

Yelp
We had an excellent dining experience. The service staff was top notch and so accommodating. We started with a charcuterie board with the most delectable meats, cheeses, sliced baguette and accoutrements. One of my party ordered the burger and the most deliciously fresh French fries. Both were tasty. Another had the chicken pasta dish, also quite good. I was full from the charcuterie so I had a beautifully fresh salad. Highly recommended place.

Yelp
First time here and it was fantastic. Jeremy, our waiter, killed it with the recommendations and made the experience even greater. The clam linguine had a little spice and loads of flavor. The highlight was the dessert though, because it was light, chocolatey, and yet still rich and indulgent. The waiter paired my wine perfectly for the dish I selected as well which is great as my knowledge of wines is limited. I will definitely be back here and highly recommend diningat this place. Do note that reservations are highly suggested.

Yelp
This is one of our favorite go-to restaurants when looking for fine food in Grand Rapids. They have a great menu with rotating offerings and great specials. The service is very polished, polite, and efficient and the manager (Peter) is wonderful and his recommendations for us are always spot on. They have a fantastic bar and an amazing selection of wines. We have never had a bad meal here nor a bad experience. Moreover, it's right in the middle of downtown within an easy walk of a lot of what the city has to offer. The bottom line: Reserve is a great place if you're looking for quality dining with very good service and staff.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I had a great experience at reserve. We went for happy hour before a movie and wished we had more time. We split the large charcuterie, and it was more than enough for the two of us. Our severe was extremely knowledgeable and helped with our selection. The chèvre was amazing, and we will be back again to try the wine flights.
