Seven of the Smallest MICHELIN Guide Hotels in Paris

"Résidence Nell, in the 9th arrondissement, means the 'résidence' bit quite literally: its 17 apartments come with functional kitchenettes and, even in the studios, enough space for a bit of proper relaxation. They also come with quietly chic contemporary interiors by Patrick Jouin, a man who knows his way around a Parisian residential vibe." - The MICHELIN Guide

Résidence Nell (Paris, Île-de-France) 41 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"“Low-key” is a word that frankly doesn’t adequately describe enough Parisian hotels. Such is the hospitality situation in the French capital that when you do find someplace that’s both thoughtfully designed and humanely spacious, you’re practically deafened by the five-star fanfare. So maybe the residential approach is the way to go. Résidence Nell, in the 9th arrondissement, means the “résidence” bit quite literally: its seventeen apartments come with functional kitchenettes, and, even in the studios, enough space for a bit of proper relaxation." - Tablet Hotels

5 stars for great air conditioning! We went just after the heat wave, and would have put up with just about anything for good a/c in Europe. Excellent location (boulangeries, fruit stands, restaurants, pharmacies, Monop', Normal, Franprix nearby), very close to metro 7 and 12 and reasonably close to 8. Front desk was always helpful and staffed. Elevator is slow as other reviews note, but thank goodness there is one! Europe has old buildings, what do you expect? Not longer than giant new hotels with too many rooms and too few elevators. Towels and hair dryer were great. 4 stars because room wasn't exactly as shown in photo (kitchenette was around the corner and didn't open into the main room) and living room TV was positioned at odd angle from couch. Area was lively and we always felt safe, even coming back from Eiffel Tower well after midnight.

Dear gentle traveler, do not be fooled by glossy pictures, this hotel is well over used. There are stains on the carpet, couch, water stains in the bathroom. So, manage your expectations. However, all those things may be ok with you for the price etc. We all mistakenly book places that are there to take money but really fall short meeting out high standards. For this hotel, list of falling below basic expectations unfortunately goes on. For example, elevator is not working and you have to take your luggage up to the 5th floor with no help offered. Sink is not draining, toilet is not flushing. We, of course, reached out to hotel, however, person at the front desk was unable to provide any solution, neither he was able to summon help. He said management can only be reached by email, except email was general hotel email (really!???). Terrible service and disregard for basic expectations of 4 star hotel. We regret booking it.

AVOID!!||AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS — COMPLETE SCAM||This hotel is an absolute disgrace. I have no idea how it has a 4-star rating, and frankly, I question the legitimacy of every positive review out there. We were completely scammed. What was advertised online and what we walked into could not have been more different.||From the moment we stepped inside, we knew we had made a huge mistake. The place looked and felt like a run-down hostel, not a proper hotel. ||The entrance was depressing with suitcases stashed everywhere and a messy desk that acted as the “lobby”.   The whole place reeked of neglect. It was shabby, worn down, and completely misrepresented online.||We booked what was called an “Apartment” on the 5th floor for $650 per night in July. ||$650 dollars per night!!! What we got was maybe worth $200 if you were being generous. ||The carpets were stained, the curtains were hanging off their hooks, the cabinets and corners all cracked and chipped, and the furniture was chipped and so shabby and gross. |The elevator felt like it hadn’t been serviced in years and honestly felt like a safety hazard.|I have no problem spending money on good hotels, especially during peak season, but this was pure robbery. |We were there over a weekend and the streets were so loud and crowded, not a pretty or quaint area at all. You could hear drunk people shouting at 4am walking home - awful!||What makes it even worse is that the reviews and photos were so misleading it felt like we were victims of a total sham.  ||I’m so angry that this place is being marketed as something remotely nice. It is not. It is a scam. |Do not stay here. |Do not trust the reviews. |Do not waste your money.

Don't be fooled by the photos of this hotel. I don't recommend this hotel at all. Very ordinary with no service. Can you only give one bottle of water for a 4-day stay? Room service only comes once a day, which means if you need a sheet, no one will answer until the next day. They charged us 30 euros for a key because it was lost. At breakfast they give you a paper to fill out. Tomorrow they'll bring you a small breakfast, the next day there's no breakfast unless you call and they'll bring you some paper. I'm sorry for choosing this hotel.

Absolutely horrible. The property is totally neglected status. The lift and hall way carpet are both filthy and dated and are in no ways matching a four star rating. We were given 4 complimentary coffee pods as 3 adults staying for two nights. When I asked if we could get more as there were 3 of us we were told “the government’s policy is to provide 4 complimentary pods”. This is utterly ridiculous customer service. I booked this property because a reputable website specialising in boutique hotels recommended this as having the best concierge service in Paris. Well, that was non existent. I asked the reception lady whether she could call a restaurant for me and she said “just speak English”. Shocking. The room is very basic and the facilities are poorly maintained. I do not understand how is this a four star property. Even a 3 star would be rich for it. The bathroom is horribly designed and the shower is at risk of flooding. The only plus side is the location which is close to some of the best bistros in Paris. Stay away from it at all costs.

It is a very cozy apartment, with a great and friendly staff. Very well and centric located. The apartmentis awesome for a familypf four, speciallyif you want to spend few days in Paris while feeling at home. The apartment has everything, cookware, plates, utensils, fridge, two TVs, the washroom and towels were very clean. Definitely a recommended option to be considered if you want to stay in the heart of Paris at a reasonable price.

Lovely hotel. Very tasteful and friendly. Good for families - we are staying as a family of 4.
