This is a really good hotel in Cambridge. The location is close to the Red Line, and it's also walk able to many places. Our room was large and updated. The bed was super comfortable and the shower worked really well. The workspace was well designed, and while we didn't use it, the kitchen was well equipped. The free breakfast was better than most. In addition, there is a Starbucks adjacent to the hotel the opens at 5am! We would definitely stay here again.

Not sure if this is the leadership's attempt to save money or this is the cleaning team's issue: the room wasn't exactly clean. We found a super moldy 'meal' left in a microwave (disgusting, but that also tells us that microwave hasn't been cleaned in a LONG time). The freezer/fridge was super noisy, making it difficult to sleep. The flushing handle on the toilet was super loose and almost fell off by the time we were leaving. There were no trash bags anywhere in the room. For a 5 day stay, we were given 2 toilet paper rolls and 1 dishwasher pod - even after we had the room 'cleaned', we were not given any extra rolls of toilet paper, dishwasher pods, or trash bags. When the cleaning team 'cleaned' our room, they made our beds (after we made them already) and hang our towels in that very nice way, even though we had them hanging already. But, they didn't vacuum at all and didn't wipe any surfaces either. We were in Boston for multiple Dr appointments for our child and we were certainly hoping for a more comfortable hotel experience than this. Disappointing.

Located in the heart of the city with walk to major offices and google. The rooms are good and decent size. Recommend for long term travelers who wish to cook. The breakfast options are not great. I travel for work to Boston and most of the times I stay at this place for 4 days at a time, from past 15+ months have not see change in the breakfast menu. Hope they consider alternatives for the frequent and long term stays.||The price is expensive compared to near by hotels who offer better rooms and services

We spent 3 nights here. Our room was very spacious with kitchenette (full fridge small stove, microwave, toaster, pots, pans...etc) we had a large closet to put our things away, 2 queen size bed and a pull out couch. Delicious full American breakfast in the mornings as well as a bar in the evening (we didnt go to the bar) the staff were friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our stay. Parking garage nearby, Close to the T for travel into Boston,

Google
Destination fees + taxes of 35 USD per day : I was really surprised as we paid to our broker the full price annonces by the hotel. Destination fees appeared hidden in the middle of a long text about sales conditions. An easy way for the hotel to artificially lower the published rate on the web. Be cautious.

Google
This is One of if not my favorite place to stay when I'm in Boston. The location is great because you can walk to just about anything. The hotel is great and the rooms are a good size so you don't feel closed in. This place is a winner!!

Clean, nice people, no mini bar and silly rules about selling alcohol after 11. Nice breakfast but not very kosher friendly. Perfecr Cambridge location

My sister and her boss family had a deeply disappointing and distressing experience at the Residence Inn Boston Cambridge. They had been staying peacefully for nine days, but things took a shocking turn on June 24. A housekeeping staff member entered their suite without proper notice and, when asked to return later due to their baby being sick and asleep, she shouted at them. Even worse, when my sister brought this up to the manager, Mr. Donovan Roberts, he not only dismissed her concerns but aggressively sided with the staff’s false version of events. He treated my sister and the family in a completely unprofessional and hostile manner—raising his voice, threatening to evict them immediately, and even yelling in front of their children. This is absolutely not the level of service or basic human decency anyone should expect from a Marriott property.

Yelp
This Residence Inn is one of the best hotels I have stayed in. The rooms here are more like an apartment, but better than most big city apartments. You can get a studio, but I had the equivalent of a one bedroom apartment. I had a kitchen, living room, bathroom, and bedroom. The breakfast spread is large with lots of good breakfast items. The bar is a good spot to grab drinks at night. Staff is friendly and helpful. There is a large free breakfast spread, with plenty of tasty food items. And this hotel is right next to MIT, the best college in America. You will be happy with your choice if you stay in this Residence Inn.

Yelp
I have never been treated better. The staff was helpful from the beginning to make my stay great. The room was spacious and very clean. The staff taught me how to use the subway to Harvard. They were friendly each time I walked through the door. Best hotel experience ever.

Yelp
Spent 6 nights here - chose the hotel for its reputed studio apartment style rooms since I had a long stay. Overall I had a mostly decent experience - but some things were hit or miss. The rooms are a great size - small kitchenettes with stove, full fridge, toaster, and microwave. They have a seating area with desk and couch. And large windows with great views! Prices are pretty decent here as well. Some of the staff were excellent - Ryan especially (I hope I got his name right). On my 3rd night, there was no running water in my room bc of a burst pipe or something and he got me into a much better room right away! But there were a couple of other staff that just didn't want to be bothered and didn't even try to help. When I checked into my first room, it had a huge wad of hair in the toilet, wet dirty towels in the sink, and the shampoo/conditioner bottles looked like they had been ripped off the wall - staff didn't care - told me to just "put the dirty towels out in the hall" - lol ok. In the first room I had, the kitchen was poorly stocked - there were plenty of plates but only one giant soup pan so I wasn't able to do much cooking. The second room I had had a much better stocked kitchen but the coffee pot was awful and there were no coffee amenities. But at least it was completely clean. The ice makers don't work well at all - and they'll give you ice at the desk instead if you want. In my first room, there was a ton of construction going on outside that would start very early - very noisy. But my second room was much higher up and much quieter with a lovely view of the Longfellow Bridge. The hotel has a bar that sometimes serves light bites and even has a few beers on tap. They serve breakfast every morning - it was mostly the same every day - eggs, two types of sausage, potatoes in various forms, and some sort of sweet offering like pancakes or French toast. As well as fruit, cereal, toasts, yogurt and a waffle station. It was pretty decent. Fantastic location near MIT and convenient access to the trains. All in all I'd stay again if I needed a long term hotel in the area.

Yelp
Great hotel! Each room is a little studio apartment. The bed was one of the better beds I've slept on while staying in a hotel. Room was clean, and the kitchen came fully stocked with pots and pans. Breakfast was great. Lots of variety from waffles to eggs. Reception was friendly. Would probably stay here again if in the Cambridge area.

Yelp
I was planning to stay there for 3 nights and decided to stay only for one night. There is nothing really wrong with this place but nothing astonishing that comes out of the ordinary. The staff is nice but not engaging or very helpful, the rooms are old/outdated but functional. What made me leave is having an average hotel and I noticed multiple antennas on the building and got nervous if they were used/what is the purpose of them. I tried to limit exposure to radiation/electronics and I thought the best way would be to go to another place. I understand this may not be rationale, this was just a personal decision. If you go/stay to be on the MIT campus, the location is great and hard to beat.

Yelp
I just want to take a moment to give my thanks to this hotel. I have stayed at many Marriott hotels but have yet to stay at a Residence Inn. As this was not considered a vacation but a practical trip to visit the surrounding colleges I was looking for something that was affordable and in a good area. This hotel was a contender with a nearby Marriott that was priced higher but after seeing the reviews I decided that not only would it save money but it looked like people were happier with the service at this hotel. Thankfully the reviews were absolutely accurate. The staff and location were perfect for my daughter and my stay in Boston. After a long delay with our airplane it was so nice to walk in and be greeted by the warm staff. Our room was perfect for our needs, included a couch with a pull out bed plenty of room for our suitcases and clothes and something I didnt even factor in, was it included a kitchen with microwave, stove, dishwasher and refrigerator. The other perk is the free breakfast. Between the free breakfast and the kitchen I was able to save additional money on going out to eat and feel good about not wasting leftovers. Previous vacations leftovers would be trashed despite our good intentions. With the kitchen we had two full nights of leftovers from the Boston restaurants we had gone to in the beginning of the trip. The hotel was very close to the public transit which not only allowed my daughter to get the feel of living in Boston but saved us money once again as the 7 day Charlie card (their pre-paid transit card) was $35 for the whole week. That card took us all over the city and Cambridge. They also have a Starbucks that is accessible from the hotel. This really opened my eyes to the benefits of a hotel that is configured in this manner. Thank again to the staff. I wish I could give names but everyone from beginning to end were wonderful. I will absolutely stay again when visiting.

Yelp
First room had some smokers smell, exchanged it no problem. Loved the breakfast selection. Very good location if you are a runner.

Yelp
I had a lovely trip to Boston thanks to Residence Inn and the outstanding staff. I especially want to shout out to Natalia, hopefully I got her name right because she was the best hotel concierge that I have ever met. I arrived at 9:30 am during a heavy rainstorm and was expecting to drop off my luggage and kill two hours before a series of back to back client meetings. I was beyond thrilled that they offered me an early check-in. Instead of braving a storm I relaxed in a comfortable, spacious suite. The room was a traveler's dream come true with a full-sized refrigerator and kitchen, dining table, desk, sofa, lounge chair, and a television in each room. I was happy as a quokka killing time in my warm dry suite. It was Friday evening when I returned and my client asked me to do a quick rush project but at least I had a great working space available. The bed was really comfortable and I enjoyed the complimentary breakfast buffet very much. I would highly recommend this Residence Inn.

Yelp
Stay Dates: August 29, 2014 to September 1, 2014 This was where we stayed in Boston! The Residence Inn offers rooms that are the size of mini studios with a full kitchen, a table for two to eat at, A sofa, TV a full bathroom and a bed. We didn't eat many meals in our room because our stay was short but if we were staying here for a week we would have gotten groceries and cooked here for sure. Our room also had a recycling bin which I loved! The maid service was great, the room was comfortable and spacious, the staff was friendly, the guest facilities were nice. The spa and pool were well kept but the decor was slightly outdated and more late 80s/early 90sish. They also served a complimentary breakfast which they went all out for. They served scrambled eggs and on alternating days for our stay they also served sausage, biscuits and canadian bacon. They had yogurt available, oatmeal, assorted teas, fruits, bagels, muffins and breads. They served a breakfast to feed an army. Overall besides the outdated spa facility and eggs that were just okay this is a great place to stay and it's five minutes away from Boston by Cab, Subway or car so you can stay here without paying Boston city hotel prices. Plus if you are traveling on a budget you can eat all your meals here.

Yelp
An RI with good service in a GREAT location We've reached the point in our lives where having two almost grown teenagers make staying in a 2BR suite a blessing - and RI fits the bill. The kids also eat like teenagers so the hearty free breakfast every morning really helps. It's a modern-ish hotel and suite with microwave, coffee maker, fridge, etc. Wifi is good and the Living Room/Kitchen is comfy with seating for four (or less if you're up before or after the rest of your family). The location is fabulous. It's a short walk to the Kendall Square T (on the Red Line) and to many wonderful restaurants in the area. Note that the entrance to the Marriott sort of next door is a public walkway to the T so you don't have to go down to the corner and back. To pick a few nits...like all RIs the beds are fine but just not up to Marriott standard. The parking is a bit weird - it's a separate garage building immediately behind the hotel. Not bad...but annoying in a downpour. Also, this is the first RI in which we've stayed that has the 2nd bathroom ensuite. Not a problem for us, but if you trying to sleep someone on the sofabed things could get a bit awkward. And lastly, I would have really liked some plain yogurt in the buffet. They provide all sorts of tasty fresh fruit, dried fruit, and nuts - there is no reason to have only sugar bombed yogurt.

Yelp
I am staying in the Residence Inn during for work for 4 weeks. It's been 2 weeks already and I want to share my experience so far. 1* For the room : It is like a studio but way better. Everything is in perfect condition, the bathroom is really clean, the bed is an amazingly comfortable queen size, the desk has a USB port which is very practical, there is a clock on the bedtable, the kitchen provides everything to cook and eat. 1* For the cleaning service : Every morning I leave the room and make sure my things are not all over the place. I a very tidy person. When I come back after work the bed has been made to the residence standards, the towels are changed and folded as well, the bins are empties and everything is spotless. 1* For the reception : Last Sunday I ordered some make-up online and gave the address of the residence with my room number. I asked everyday for my package and everyday the receptionist in charge would check. When it arrived I was relieved and very happy. The next day, another person from reception - whom I had asked for the package as well - made sure I had received my package as I expected. Great customer service! 1* For the mini-market : On the right side of reception there is a mini-market, litterally a room with a huge fridge with drinks for sale, a stand with sweets/crackers, and also a stand with emergency products such as razors, cissors... It is a great idea for people - like me - who forgot to buy a bottle of water on the way home :) 1* For the gym : The gym includes trademills, bikes, weights, and a water fountain. Also it is open 24/7! This actually makes me really happy! When I arrived from Dublin I got really jet lagged and the best way to get myself into the Boston timing was to workout. Whatever the time! There is also a 4ft deep swimming pool and a jaccuzzi. I have tried both and they are great. 1* For the staff : I have been told it's a Boston thing but people here are very nice. More than just nice, they are super friendly. I am amazed by the hospitality. This makes me want to be super friendly too! Overall I have a great experience of this place and I highly recommend it! Let me know what you think :)

Yelp
I stayed here for a night and it was great! The reception was friendly, and she asked whether I'd prefer a lower or higher floor (I answered with the latter). I was on the 14th floor and my room was overlooking the outside. The room was spacious (I got a studio) and had a kitchen, couch, and of course bed and bathroom. The bed and pillows were great, and I had a really comfortable stay here. The location is also really convenient as it's close to the red line, which goes into Boston as well as the rest of Cambridge. I would recommend it!

Yelp
This hotel is a super, super convenient location - about a mile over the Longfellow bridge and right into downtown Boston. Also, there is a Starbucks immediately next door and a great restaurant right across the street. Definitely a winner on the convenience front. We loved having a little extra space to spread out, and the kitchenette is stocked with every little thing you need, from plates to salt & pepper to a can opener. The long vanity separate from the toilet and shower made it easier for two people to get ready in the morning, and the sleeper sofa was comfortable enough to for me to fall asleep on. Lastly, the breakfast was really, really great - lots of variety, many hot options and proteins, fun stuff for kids, great service, and great coffee. The only things keeping this from being a five star hotel is that it's a queen bed, not a king, which of course is manageable but not ideal for two people, and then also the fact that we couldn't seem to get the AC to cool down very low which made it a little too warm for our preference. Other than that, an excellent hotel choice.

Yelp
Stayed here on a weekend evening. The hotel is in Cambridge, but conveniently located so you can quickly get to any part of Boston with ease. Building is new/modern in appearance and is well kept both inside and out. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful upon check in/out. Our interaction otherwise with them was limited because there were no issues. The rooms are HUGE. My room was clean. Residence Inns by concept are large suite style rooms with kitchenettes. A little much for a single night stay, but it is so affordable that it doesn't hurt the wallet, even for short stays. Starbucks inside the hotel building is a nice benefit. I'd definitely recommend this property if in the area!
google avatar

Allie S.

Yelp
Stayed here for one night for a business trip. The rooms are large with a small kitchen and sitting area. The stay includes a breakfast buffet which is always a plus. The hotel is right in Kendall Square with many things within walking distance and a Starbucks right next door.

Yelp
You can always count on the Marriott brand to provide quality and comfort when traveling. - Clean, tidy, and spacious rooms with a dining room, study desk, kitchen desk and complete kitchen (this is great for long-term travelers). - Complimentary breakfast - Right next to MIT and a few minutes away from downtown Boston. - Many local places to eat, shop, bank, and get things done if you need to - They'll even get groceries for you and deliver it to your room if you bring it to them by 9am the next morning (no delivery charges) *Parking is not included ($25/day in the garage next door)

Yelp
Modern hotel that was very clean. My room had a living room/ kitchen area that was separate from the bedroom and bathroom as well as 2 TVs! I appreciated the microwave popcorn left in the kitchen as it made a great late night snack. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. A complimentary breakfast was served each morning. The bath products for guests we paul Mitchell tea tree. I only wish they had individual sizes vs full size pump bottles locked into the shower... you had to hit it just right to get it out.. However when I called down to the desk they brought up new bottles and installed them and said I could keep the others that ended up being half full just unable to pump out. Overall a great stay. Great location and close to the T for getting to other parts of Boston
google avatar

Yelp
For being a fairly standard hotel, this was actually surprisingly pleasant and I've already booked a room here for another visit. As others have noted, the suites have a living room/kitchen combo and then a separate bedroom. Both the living room and bedroom have large flat-panel TVs. The furniture in both rooms is comfortable with plenty of seating in the living room. There is not much of a view per se so if that's what you're looking for then I recommend another hotel. (In fact, the person commenting on a 23rd floor room may have confused the hotels, because this one doesn't have nearly that many floors). If you're here for work or visiting with a family, this place is much more convenient than a standard hotel room and interestingly, the price is not worse. Breakfast is included and offers anything from scrambled eggs to tacos, cereals, pastry items, yogurt and some other options. It's nothing gourmet, but it's nice not to have to start the morning on an empty stomach. The staff was very friendly and even gave me some hot chocolate from the kitchen in the evening when I mentioned that I don't drink the coffee that they provide in the rooms.

Yelp
Married in April 2011, spent a week in June for our honeymoon. This place was amazing to us for our trip to Boston, the breakfast is top notch, and the staff in more or less words just unbelievable. Planning on visiting next summer again, and hoping to get another great deal at this hotel. Highly recommend!!!!

Yelp
I've stayed in a number of places when traveling to Boston, but this is my preferred for number of reasons. It is extended stay style, with full kitchen. So, when staying for a week, it's great to have this available. It is walking distance to shopping, dinning, bars, MIT and Harvard. It is owned by Marriott, so you get the Marriott points. They do a great job in service, as Marriott always does. The ladies at the counter are always friendly and so accommodating for anything you need. But, most of all, they almost always have that special state government rate, which I require, even when it is last minute. And it includes breakfast, and social mixer at night. They also have parking right behind it at a very good daily rate. You can't go wrong with this place. Has everything you'll need, and just driving minutes to down town Boston. A lot of my Cambridge restaurant and bar reviews are of establishments just blocks away from this hotel.
google avatar

Yelp
Can't say enough wonderful things. Joseph was a wonderful help- really made my stay top notch! Maria - night audit - was just as awesome. And Romia in the breakfast area (which is delicious and complimentary ) was awesome. Don't stay anywhere else and waste time - just book here !

Yelp
When it comes to hotels, I'm a location girl. I can put up with a wide array of less-than-perfect when the location is spot-on. The Residence Inn "Boston" Cambridge is right by the T (for travel into the city or out to further burgs) and right next to MIT (should your visit be in some way MIT-related). You can also easily walk to various bars and restaurants of Cambridge. As the purpose of our trip was Cambridge, not Boston, the location was aces. Now, don't let the name fool you. You're not in Boston. You're pretty close, though. What is that my Mom used to say? "Close enough for government work"? Yes, I feel that somehow applies and will enlighten your hotel searching. Anyway, it's a Residence Inn. If you've stayed at the Residence Inn franchises before, you know what to expect: small kitchenette, comfy bed, free breakfast. Don't knock the free breakfast - it was darned impressive. I ran downstairs about 10 minutes before the end to grab a bagel or something and ended up sitting down to pancakes, Froot Loops, bacon, eggs. Yeah, I like breakfast. I was going to make a Belgian Waffle but there was a line. The hotel itself is a little worn. The call button for the elevator right off the lobby looked like someone took a hammer to it. Through out the hotel, finishes were a little rough around the edges. The preset buttons on our phone didn't work (so I couldn't call the front desk) but I told them about it and they responded immediately. I even got an email when I'd returned home that the problem had been solved. Nice touch, I like feeling like a contributing member of the hotel-staying society.

Yelp
Awesome place. Very big rooms. Super friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast much better than expected. Will be happy to stay here again!

Yelp
I stayed here for two nights (Feb 8 and 9) in 2011, while visiting MIT as a prospective grad student. The cost was $455 (after tax) for two nights. I stayed in a 1 Queen, Sofabed room. The room (or I should say suite) was HUGE. There was a large living room, separate from the bedroom and bathroom. At a rate of $199 per night pre-tax, this was a great deal compared to nearby hotels. The location is also amazing - right in the middle of Kendall square, it's next to the T stop, a bunch of restaurants, and MIT. The service was also great. I accidentally locked myself out of my room once, and the front desk guy immediately helped me get back in.

Yelp
This place was great, it had a heated pool, happy hour every day with a different daily special! They also had a Starbucks inside the building!!! They were right in the heart of Cambridge and right near Boston University and Harvard University!!!

Yelp
I stayed here for one night in October 2016 for work. I have stayed here once before and had forgotten how nice a hotel it is, right in the heart of Cambridge. The rooms are great: quiet, nicely furnished, well maintained, and comfortable. The hotel's rooms all have two rooms. There is an entry room. This is a combination sitting area (with TV), dining area (2 person table), and kitchen. The latter has a full size refrigerator, microwave, sink, dishwasher, and small electric cook top (no oven) with a couple of burners. The bedroom has a bed (mine was a king), another TV, large closet, and the entry to the bathroom. There is a window in each rooms. There are many things to do, with lots of restaurants, a movie theater, etc., within 2-3 minutes walk. The hotel is about 2 blocks to the Cambridge T stop. The breakfast is a serve yourself buffet, that probably gets a 7 on a scale of 0 to 10. I would stay here again.

Yelp
Slumber: Fantastic... i've been travelling a lot lately and I love the beds at Residence Inn. This one does not disappoint and the number and variety of pillows makes it easy to find what you need for a good night sleep. Squeaky Clean: Bathroom was top notch, as was the rest of the room. Girl Stuff: For a travelling girl who needs to look good before a presentation, the abundance of mirrors and good lighting, great water pressure in the shower and full size hair dryer was very much appreciated. Caffeine: Complimentary Coffee and Tea practically all day! GPS: Great location within walking distance of MIT, awesome places to eat, the train, and a plethora of cabbies ready to take you to the airport. Front Desk Time: the gentleman who checked me in was beyond courteous and even let me check in early.

Yelp
Room smelled like pizza & sausages when we arrived. Had the windows open 24-7 and 2.5 days later still smelled like it. The place feels like 1980's converted dorm rooms. Can't pay me enough to stay here ever again!

Yelp
I stayed at this hotel for a week, last year during Christmas. I was very pleased with their service. Staff was friendly for the 1st minute to the last. Anything we needed was promptly brought to us, if it would take more than a few minutes (since it was the holidays they was less staff at times) they would offer to let us pick it up at the desk. Hotel serves breakfast. It consisted of eggs, sausage, fresh fruit, cereal, yogurt, toast, bagels and a waffle station to make your own waffles. We were pleased with the variety offered. My favorite thing about this hotel was the tea, coffee and hot chocolate station they have in their lobby. It was nice to be able to grab a cup of something warm when coming in from the cold snowy weather. There is a Starbucks on the corner of the hotel. I saved a lot of money because of this little station in the lobby! This hotel is one block from a train station. There was a free shuttle to the mall at that train station. It was easy to get around town from this hotel. Had a great view of the city from my hotel window, I was on the 7th floor. I am a fan of Residence Inn's, this one held my standards.

Yelp
I stayed twice at this facility during the last few months. Both stays are around two weeks on business. The first trip was good but the second one was not satisfactory. The hotel had a huge group of school kids and they were loud and unruly. On my floor, some of these kids were playing in the hallway. I complained to the reception but nothing was done.

Yelp
What I both love and hate about Marriott brand hotels is they're pretty much the same everywhere you go, it's good though because you get that familiarity anywhere in the world which is kind of the point! So if you've stayed at one you've stayed at them all (by brand - residence inn are different than say full service Marriotts). With Marriotts extremely high customer service quality expectations of their employees, it's seems silly to review any property as exceptional over any other...but that being said this one is! The customer service at this particular location was exceptionally outstanding! Your standard studio room is enormous! With queen bed, sofa bed (if you need it) full kitchen and living room, excellent for both long and short term stays. The breakfast is the only thing that I find to vary at different properties but the breakfast here was wonderful!!!! The location is great, you're right by the Kendall/MIT stop on the red line, close to meadhall for beers, with in walking distance of Harvard and MIT and parking is available for a fee (I believe the hotel is not affiliated?) at the yellow garage directly behind the hotel. Very close and well lit for late night as well!

Yelp
Excellent stay - clean, quiet, comfortable room. There's a Starbucks literally within the building, and it's a "real" Starbucks, not the store within a store variant. It's not close to the "main" Boston action, but that's all a short Uber ride away. MIT and Harvard within walking distance. Decent breakfast. This is simply a very well run establishment. Highly recommended.

Yelp
We stayed at this hotel last night and had a great experience! The front desk staff that worked last night were both fantastic! They were above and beyond friendly and helpful. The room was nice and quiet. The bed was slightly more firm than I would prefer but still comfortable. The hot tub was very relaxing after a long day of traveling.

Yelp
Really spacious rooms, clean and convenient location. Close to just about everything by car or taxi. Only downfall is parking. You pay $25/day and have to self park in a structure behind the hotel.

Yelp
You can't beat the location, close to everything, including the T in Kendall Sq. Rooms are clean, but I couldn't get an upgrade to a larger room or a better view despite being Platinum. Oh well. Breakfast area is beautifully done and the free Boston Globe makes up for the chronically terrible Marriott house-brand coffee. Besides, there's a Starbucks next door. The only downside was their new computerized temperature system. Despite the maintenance guy's best efforts, the room was colder than the hallway. The system will not allow a setting higher than 76 degrees, and even ran cool air in to keep it at that "temp." I had to turn it off to get the fan to stop blowing cool air. Oh well. Great concept- computerized temperature control! Hope they didn't pay a lot for it.

Yelp
The staff make the place. Front Desk, Housekeeping, Chefs, Maintenance, the whole team were professional, helpful, kind, patient with two small children. They repeatedly went above and beyond to help with parking, make our children feel welcomed, and were always full of smiles. The rooms were very clean and stocked with the necessary supplies. Breakfast was nice. Location is an easy walk to the Museum of Science (unless it is rainy/snowy) and close to several restaurants, with a Starbucks attached to the building. A great experience.

Yelp
I've been staying here for almost two weeks. The staff are super friendly and accommodating. If it's too cold or you're too tired to go outside, there's a small shop next to reception where you can get toiletries, snacks, and ready made food. If you're staying here a while though, you may want to go out or order in. Kendal Square around the corner has lots of options. You can also go to the Marriott next door where you get a 10% discount if you say you're staying at the Residence Inn.

Yelp
I had an excellent stay / experience at this hotel, the staff are all very friendly and provide excellent service, always felt welcome here, great location, clean and new rooms and the buffet breakfast is complimentary with your stay. Highly recommend this Residence Inn Boston Cambridge, Marriott Hotel.

Yelp
After hundreds of stays in different Marriott properties as a Platinum Elite, for the first time in my life, in 30 years, I had to make my own bed when I arrived at 11:45 p.m. I wonder if I also get the benefits of housekeeping such as medical?

Yelp
Cool huge updated room! Loved the room layout and size. And it was so bright and clean. We chose this for ease of walking to see Boston fireworks which took place across the harbor. Maybe five minute walk to the river. Lots of restaurants within short walking distance. Starbucks attached to bottom of hotel! Awesome! Also great for walking MIT campus if you're looking to see it. Parking was pricey though...$40/day!

Yelp
Someone, probably an employee, with a Nissan Altima repeatedly illegally parks on the sidewalk in front of the hotel. Regardless of whether they are an employee, the hotel condones this behavior. This is a busy pedestrian corridor and it's super obnoxious to block the sidewalk.

Yelp
Unlike most hotels in Beanstown, I was able to get a room here under 150 a night. Everything was new, spotless, impeccably clean, service was super friendly, the location is convenient. Location is Kendall Square, which should just be called MIT square. Although a dead part of town, especially on the weekends, it's perfect for me because it's quiet but in walking distance to my fave hangs. Also, the red line is only twenty feet from the front door and that's the only subway that matters there anyway. South Station is just a few stops away. We were put up in a huge room with two double beds on the 23rd floor overlooking a sweet view of half of Cambridge and the Charles River, which was spattered with sailboats and wind surfers. I'm hyper aware of decor, and found it pretty standard but tasteful, which is more than i can say for many. The beds are supah comfortable and they don't have pointless barfalicious polyester bedspreads. The spa is impeccably clean, including the pool, hot tub and sauna; the perfect way to nurse (sweat out) your hangovah. If i had to find one thing to complain about, as i always do, it would be the room service. the food not so great. there are much better dinners to be had just out the front door. No Marriotts aren't the five star ultra modern minimalist 800 count thread sheet hotel that i would stay in if i could afford it, with an award winning restaurant / bar, but it's five stars for the price, space, cleanliness, service, view, and location. this byatch is too old to sleep on a friend's couch. and I had a great experience here. this my new home away from home.

Yelp
We stayed recently during a VERY busy weekend and enjoyed our stay here! Rooms are huge, super clean, and really friendly staff. Lots of construction is going on in the area so the morning can be a bit noisy! Great location if you stay in the Cambridge area...

Yelp
Pleasantly surprised by the accommodations. Nicely appointed, apartment-style. Clean. Quiet. EASY access to the Red Line. Morning breakfasts are better than the usual hotel fare.

Yelp
Very friendly staff, nice rooms that are very comfortable and clean. This hotel is within walking distance of many restaurants and the metro, so it's very convenient.

Yelp
It's my home away from home. Perfect location for anything central in Cambridge. Very short drive or healthy walk to downtown Boston. I have stayed here for short one night trips, and one week trips more than a dozen times. I've traveled a lot in NA and over seas. This is truly a no muss, no fuss, predictably, and invariably great place to stay. Top ten details. 1. Always super clean. 2. Desk staff and dining room staff super friendly and efficient. 3. I have arrived several times before check-in and they always try to make rooms available. 4. Gym open whenever you need. 5. Lots of selection for breakfast with different hot dishes daily. 6. Tuesday-Thursday evening snacks (but really can substitute for dinner). 7. Free Internet. 8. On MIT's campus and near Kendall Square (2 min walk to the T and short walk to many excellent restaurants). 9. Always quiet (you can work in your room and in the dining room). 10. For extended stays, reasonably priced and convenient laundry facilities, fully functional kitchen, pantry in the lobby for people who don't want to cook. Really, nothing more to ask for. Even coffee is good here and always available but for those who need to have their particular brand...Starbucks is next door, Dunkin 5 min walk, Cosi and Au Bon Pain 3 min. Come here! I bet you'll like it as much as me.

Yelp
This is a nice place to stay in the Boston/Cambridge area if you want T access and and a lot of room in your hotel. Like all Residence Inn locations you will have a "living room" and a bedroom and a kitchenette This is nice to store and reheat your leftovers while you are on a business trip. There is also free breakfast in the morning so you can save your per diem for dinner. I've stayed here many times and I've never seen it overly crowded or teaming with people. It's a nice quick walk to the Kendall/MIT red line T stop. It's also right next to a Starbucks if you need a quick fix. You won't have a view of the Charles River from this hotel (you'll need to stay at the Marriott across the street for that) but the price is right.

Yelp
Amazing Staff, HUGE delicious breakfast, beautiful rooms, hot tub, pool, and great work out room RIGHT in the heart of MIT. What else could you ever want? Makes me sad I live here but I direct my out of town guests here every time!

Yelp
Good location, clean comfortable room, but the highlight was the service. Lorraine at the front desk was awesome! She is my hero of the week. She treated us better than family.
