Love coming here for Goth Night. Super awesome that they have the back patio to chill in and get yourself some water. Love the patio DJ too, playing awesome music but not so loud you can't have a conversation.

We had a blast at Emo night. Never waited for the bartenders. It was super well run. Even bathrooms were clean. Well done.

Kat A (KrazyKabel)

Google
Great intimate punk bar. Plenty of sitting inside and out. Awesome graffiti art everywhere. Very good selection of beers. Loved watching weakened friends and slothrust last week and will be looking forward to catching more shows here.

Tab Palmisano

Google
Always a great night. Tons of fun events to choose from. The staff is attentive and remembers what I'm drinking. Great vibes all around. Wish they were in Broward but it's worth making the drive.

Google
I have been here twice. The first time was for a meet and greet with one of my favorite wrestlers, Jeff Hardy & the second time was for a concert, Nita Strauss was performing. When you're there, it's a fun environment! However, I tried calling them during their business hours and left a message and ways to contact me. I never heard back from them.

Google
Respectable Street is my favorite night club in south east Florida. The service is great and the sound is wonderful, whether you are watching a live band or just a DJ. Benn coming here for over a decade.

Madd Grinn

Google
Small, intimate venue with state-of the-art sound & visuals, detailed for live performances. The establishment attracts many eclectic, sub-culture, & post-modern, punk, goth & metal genres. Smoking outside patio, only.

Phillip “Quarak”

Google
Oh man we had such a fun night here, had a blast with a fun rowdy crowd right up till close. Legitimately a top 10 night out just thanks to the vibe, awesome bartender, and crowd.

Georgio L.

Yelp
Nice small venue where you can get intimate with your favorite bands. I will definitely be back for another show.

Yelp
It was a semi random night last week that I ended up at Respectable Street. There is a old rockabilly band I've always liked, the Reverend Horton Heat, and they were coming to South Florida for 1 show. It was at this joint "Respectable Street" I had never heard of. I asked around and a couple friends said they didn't care for it. Boy were these off on that assessment. I arrived Sunday night plenty early for the show. I got a chance to hang out back in their courtyard, which was a nice spot to chill for a bit. There's a full bar out there, a large tree for shade and plenty of spots to sit for a minute. They have a couple cool blowups including this elephant. a Florida afternoon shower started though so I went in to catch the opening act. They were pretty solid. The room had good acoustics overall. I grabbed a drib here and had great quick service. For the show I was close to the stage. Its only about 3 feet off the floor so I really felt right on top of the show. After a great show I called it a night, and made note to tell people about this venue that's doin it in West Palm.

Yelp
Pros: I hadn't been to this venue in about 15 years (I live about 1.5 hours away) and I was pleasantly surprised that they have made it soooo much nicer! The space somehow looks bigger. It's well maintained, so although it's a dive bar of sorts, it's actually not grimy at all. The outside area was so chill and they had neat glow in the dark art. Tons of parking all around the area. Cons: limited bathroom stalls.

Yelp
Great place to grab some grub, meet some new friends, listen to great music and dance the night away- open very late, loved it! Xoxoxox

Yelp
Each event is different at this cool alternative club. This was my second show for Lovesong: The Cure Tribute. They always deliver. Every tune is played well. Come with friends to enjoy all the fun! Last weekend I joined in on their Free Block Party and Ordinary Boys concert inside and Front 242 outside. An incredible Free block party. Always the best talents and more interesting than the east end of Clematis. Drinks are cheap!!! Nothing ever crazy here. Staff and clientele have been friendly.

Yelp
Punk music has a certain juxtaposition between normalcy and mundanity that almost grounds you. You know what they say...Anyone and everyone is just one pair of Doc Martens away from a revolution. Well, walking into Respectable Street is certainly one of those balancing acts we all should enact every so often. It's grungy. It's got grit. There's personality for days. Most importantly, it never goes out of style. Located right on Clematis Street, this spot never seems to sell out which is why it's a National treasure in my eyes. Back in the day, I used to just drink a PBR and quote Nietzsche. Now, I order a porter and just bop my head to the Ramones. It's no frills and it's done right. It's Funky Punk & Punk never dies.

Yelp
Really nice place to hand for a night. The decor in the club is really nice! If you like EDM, house, rock, or alternative. Definitely a place for you. People there were mostly regulars. If you are trying to mingle, I feel like you definitely have to know someone to get people talking to you, Drinks were really pricey ($20 for two shots).

Yelp
I went to this venue for the first time and was blown away! Even though it's a far drive for me I came for a concert here. I love how intimate and casual vibes are. It's close to restaurants and that's definitely a plus in my book. I really loved the art and decorations to this venue. Similar to ones in miami. But there's something very special about this venue. I also had a drink at the outside bar area and the drink was to perfection. I definitely recommend this venue. And will hopefully return to this area soon.

Komenda K.

Yelp
Good drinks good music, good people. 100% my go to grunge bar. On the weekends they also have house music in the back out side
google avatar

Milhouse N.

Yelp
My friend and I came here for a show, which was a band doing 90's cover songs and they were great. The drinks were good and the bartender was friendly. They have a stage with a dance area in front, disco ball, lights and stuff. Big screen with artistic, trippy looking graphics playing. The people there were a good crowd, casually dressed, polite and just enjoying themselves and feeling the music.
google avatar

Kerry S.

Yelp
Millionth time here, first time checking in. Look, if you don't know then you don't know. Just come inside. Everyone is welcome. I promise. EVERYONE. Love this place. Grab a drink and dance. Just do it. Your vibe is here. If it isn't now, it will be in just a minute.

Yelp
I have been going to Respectables for 14 years and I have also been one of its' bartenders for 4 years. This has always been my favorite place to go in West Palm. Don't listen to the dude below who obviously went there once and had the audacity to say the customers listen to Jonas Brothers.....last time I checked J.B. fans were too young to get into a bar and are too wholesome to drink alcohol. Things to look forward to: Drink specials every night you go no dress code no cover (unless there is a special event/show) free on-street parking lots of awesome/friendly people awesome staff GREAT SHOWS!! and sooooooo much more! Respectables is the oldest bar in the SE region of the USA that was opened and is still operated by the same owner. It opened in 1987 and will be turning 24 this summer! I'm not claiming Respects to be the best bar in the country but it is definitely the place to be in West Palm! How could it have remained open this long if it wasn't so amazing?!?!

Yelp
Ah, Rejectables, as we used to call it. I have some sort of fond memories here since it's one of the only places where you can really hear live music and go dancing around West Palm that isn't full of a bunch of pretentious wannabe rich people. That being said, it does gather the hipster crowd, which might not be that much better. But, Respectables does have a pretty good reputation among that crowd for being a different kind of bar on Clematis. That's partially because of where it's situated. It's right across from where a huge music hub used to be on Clematis (RIP Ray's). The outdoor patio area is pretty fun and offers a good little option from the main room. I've never had a problem with the staffers here either. Everyone working is pretty nice. The door guys are super cool and friendly. If you're looking for something a little artsier than the average Clematis hangout, Respectables is the way to go -- both in venue and in crowd options.

Yelp
Respectable Street is the token "alternative" club of West Palm. By alternative, I mean it doesn't play all top 40, latin, or rap. They have a different music genre for each night. As per their website - Wednesdays: Industrial Thursdays: Indie, Electro, Dance Fridays (ladies night): Retro alternative, Eighties, Nineties Saturdays: "modern sounds from yesterday and beyond" I went on a Saturday night and heard Goldfrapp playing from the outside. Not exactly the epitome of a goth club, but a really nice surprise I guess you could say. The average patron for this place will most likely fit into the following: the typical alternative goth, the typical indie scene kid, and the usual music elitist. Respectables also welcomes live acts (mostly on Fridays or Saturdays), and it seems like they're the last of a dying breed (especially since Rays across the street shut down). It's also a nice break from the generic places dotting Clematis that seem to close and reopen with a different name. They've been around for 21 years, they should still have some life in them. So, if you're looking for something a little different, check it out. They're pretty lax about appearance, so there aren't any stupid rules you have to deal with.
google avatar

Jeff N.

Yelp
Respectable Street is one of my favorite hangouts at night, especially on the weekends. Come as you are, listen to good tunes or good bands that come through locally or nationally. Always have cool beer and drink specials on the weekends. You can either hang out in the main hall of the venue or in the outdoor patio area. Real chill vibe that gets going late at night.
google avatar

Yelp
Ooh respects. I've always loved this place, even when they denied me and my friends horribly through out our fake id years. They always have cool bands playing throughout the week, they have karaoke, cheap booze ($2 pbrs), great music all the time, they sell cool art work on the walls, and people actually dance here! But not like grind lines dancing, like everyone's doing their own thing bompin around dancing. It's great. I personally enjoy going on Thursdays! This is definitely an alternative, artsy bar with a bunch of cool people. There's an outside area that's pretty nice with benches and a stage for karaoke and bands and there is also plenty of seating inside too which is great if you don't want to stand around all night. It's in the clematis area but definitely one of the most unique places in that area. Check it out if your feeling funky. Cheers!

Danielle L.

Yelp
We caught KRS-1 here while in town. Great show, as always. Low key location with pretty decent pours. Loved the patio. Good people here. Some locals did not even know about this spot. Definitely check it out. You never know who will do a show.
google avatar

Colby S.

Yelp
If you're looking for the best grungy/underground rock type bar in southern florida, you found it. They hosted a Radiohead cover band (Shout out - Lavola!) that gave me the chills. Seriously though, great vibes, inside and out.
google avatar

Karina R.

Yelp
I'm not usually one to go to bars, but I got a free ticket to the 420 Boombox Tour with KRS-One and I couldn't say no. This hole-in-the-wall bar is a gem, located in City Plaza (West Palm Beach). The vibe is great, and so is the art on the wall. The staff is very friendly as well. If you're looking for a place to relax, hangout and listen to awesome music - look no further!
google avatar

Jo H.

Yelp
I love this place! I'm not a big "clubbing" person so this place is perfect for when I want to relax, enjoy good music and have a few (or 10) drinks. One thing I love about this place is the art they have displayed. The wall covered mural was actually done by one of West Palm's local artist. Out on their patio, you'll find some graffiti art, a live DJ (or sometimes two), and a full bar. You'll find an eclectic mix of people here. Some are dancing drunkily on the dance floor, some are outside mingling with a cigarette dangling between their fingertips, while others are lounging on their super comfortable sofas (that's where you'll find me!). I also love that there's no cover to get in, unless of course there's a band on stage. I also love that it's right across the street from another one of my favorite hang outs; The Lounge. You'll see me going back and forth at least 5 times on a Saturday night. This place isn't for everybody, so I would only recommend it to those who are open to trying something a bit different from the status quo.
google avatar

Sakura X.

Yelp
best alternative club! Too bad they stopped having "goth" Fridays. They used to play new wave, 80s and darkwave. BRING IT BACK!!!!
google avatar

Bryan M.

Yelp
OK- BS rating as I haven;t been in the doors for at least 10 years...HOWEVER- In reading the reviews here- not sure i there is proper appreciaition,,,,(no offense to the person who mentioned the demise of Rays - there NEBER would have been a Rays, or really anything else of worth in WPB without RSC- I remember when the cops actually encouraged us to run the red lights and stop signs between the Och=achobee and Sapodilla intersection and the parking lot across from the club (not joking on this- they told us NOT to stop)...Thats that world Rodney invested in and changed!
google avatar

Chay W.

Yelp
If your pants are too tight, your hair is a combination between a mullet and a mohawk, and you think the jonas brothers are rad this is definitely where you hang out on Saturday night after whatever band is done playing. So yeah I guess its an "alternative" club, I am staying in WPB for awhile and since this is the closest side of lowbrow it gets I'll tolerate. Hopefully the industrial night is better. But yeah, pretty much a bunch of 20 somethings getting shit faced and stumbling over each other on the dance floor. I hope the DJ was drunk because my grandma has better transitions. The door guys and security were good though. At least this isn't where all the dude bro's hang out. (you know...those guys that call each other "dude" and "bra" who wear cargo shorts and stick their chests out)
google avatar

Mike F.

Yelp
R u F'ing kidding me with this place?! Another little Hipster spot. 10 bucks for a Tito's and water in a little plastic cup. Not acceptable...
google avatar

G W.

Yelp
Meh. Covers are high. Paid every time for events and then I see half hour later no ones having to pay. Drinks expensive. It's meh.
google avatar

Donna B.

Yelp
If you're familiar with exit in Chicago. Then you'll love this place and feel right at home. Cigarette smoke is THE one thing that bothers me hence only 4 stars
google avatar

Keith H.

Yelp
Fairly run down, high prices for basic beers like "miller lite", poor lighting, expensive covers (for what you get) and the sound check needs a professional. Stopped in for the ball drop as we were told there would be balloons and the whole nine yards. none of that existed, but there was free champagne. We were dressed for new years, which means we were very over-dressed and stuck out. oh well. The little patio type set up behind the place is much better. Fight through the hipsters and make it out there if you want to enjoy yourself.
google avatar

Amanda W.

Yelp
A-MAZ-ING *amazing* this bar was fantastic, I walked in and it smelt of ciggarettes and mold and I was home. drinks were good but im my opinion expensive, I pay less for the same drinks in manhattan where I live. But despite the expensive drinks the people were great, very cool crowd, amazing music and great bands with no cover. I honestly think this is my favorite bar in the country. I would return again and if I ever moved to florida I would force them to hire me.
google avatar

Jamie C.

Yelp
Cool venue to see bands. They have an outdoor area in the back where they sell hotdogs and other foods. (You should put some food in your belly if you're gonna be doing all that drinking) Interesting mix of people. Sorta hipster if you can call them that in south FL.
google avatar

Jacob H.

Yelp
I've been coming here since I was 18 years old. I used to jump the now covered patio in the back just to sneak a peek at what was going on. I'm 33 now and still visit respectables. The DJ's on any given night will play an assortment of genres. There are live bands as well as different events that take place. Every bartender that works there does their job well and doesn't play favorites on busy nights when serving drinks. Anthony is great with security and quickly takes care of any potential problem. As long as I live in Palm Beach or in the area odds are you might find me here on any given night.
google avatar

Amber M.

Yelp
Great venue for a live show or late night to rock out! Thursdays are my favorite night. Good night to go if you're an Indie rock fan. also have monthly art shows with up and coming local artists that can bring in a crowd. Be patient/ nice to the bartenders and door people as it can get pretty crowded in there while they're slinging drinks and handing out wrist bands.

Sash M.

Yelp
My boyfriend left his card accidently at Respectables last weekend. Due to working over 40+ hours, he was not able to go pick up the card right away. We get there at 9:59pm, and there's people walking in already. So we think OK cool they're open! Walk in, politely ask for card. The white male heavyset gentleman that runs the bar immediately starts telling us to get out, and my boyfriend immediately apologizes for the error & says he's just waiting because the bartender went to grab his credit card. We goto leave, and that same bouncer starts verbally harassing my boyfriend, trying to pick a fight. He tells him "Sounds like it was YOUR MISTAKE for leaving your card here for a week. Next time don't come in until 10pm". I called this location several times, left voicemails, and sent an email. No one ever contacted me back. I most definitely won't visit this location again if that is the kind of disgusting treatment you allow from your employees.
google avatar

Kelle D.

Yelp
Love this place! One of the best things, besides the intimate views of bands- they serve world class beers. I was so excited to see St Bernardus ABT 12. Love Clematis street and can't wait to come back to see another great show here!
google avatar

Nighthawk H.

Yelp
Went here last night for their happy hour and I had a really nice time. We got there at 10 and it was dead, but that is not a bad thing in my opinion; I do not like crowds. It started to fill up at 11:30 if you're into that sort of thing, but then you only have 30 minutes left of happy hour. Anyway, our bartender was super cool and we talked to him for quite a bit. I think that this is a cool place to hang out and grab some beers that aren't over the top expensive. I have always liked the DJ's music selection as I find myself dancing every time I go here. Also, I want to add that there was a belligerent patron at the bar this night. This was handled efficiently and quietly by the staff there. He was quickly escorted off the premises. Based upon this it looks like they do not deal with nonsense, and that means they care about the safety of their other customers and the integrity of their establishment. I will be returning.
google avatar

Ryan F.

Yelp
I appreciate that this place is making enough money to keep the ac at a reasonable temperature. When good DJ is on, I love this place. When bad dj is on, it's still good. Usually leads to heavy petting.
google avatar

Wayne P.

Yelp
One of the few Clubs I still find entertaining. a fun place with great DJ's and bands, love the 80's retro play. and heavy handed bartenders.
google avatar

Jade C.

Yelp
What an eclectic mashup this place is. The eccentricity of Respectable Street is what makes me love and appreciate it. Not everything is my cup of tea, but that is precisely the point, there is something for everyone. I went here to watch the Cupcake Burlesque and boy it was a great night. I was one of the few people there without a tattoo, but I didn't feel out of place, it was very chill and entertaining too. I love that underground artsy vibe is gives off; it is welcoming and enchanting all at once. The seating arrangement make it loungable, and the dance floor is large enough to do the macarena many times over if you feel it necessary.
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
This place is rad!! They play some killer music and you will see a slightly different crowd at this place. Inside is really really smokey and I personally hate that. I usually chill outside and they have a live dj sometimes mixing some really sik music. If you like alternative, indie, eighties, and different type of hip-hop.. you should check it out.
google avatar

Stuart S.

Yelp
I was in West Palm for New Year's. Somehow my group wound up here. Given the other clubs on Clematis Street, I think this was the best place we possibly could have been. Inside they have a bar and some pretty bad-ass painted skulls adorn the walls. I'm sure they play music there, too. We spent most of our time in the outside area, where there's a bar and a stage set up for live music. This is all against the backdrop of a power plant substation, which is awesome when you consider that you're surrounded by pretentious nightclubs. Can't say much about the quality of the music, because I wasn't paying the least bit of attention. Obviously this will vary anyway; they have different themed nights which are listed on their website. The beers were a little pricey; I ordered a PBR and balked at the $4 charge. But, hey, I was just glad they didn't charge cover. It's got plenty of people there who are into the "scene," but if you're there with enough friends, you can just ignore them and have a good time anyway. Despite the stupid name, it's definitely a respectable establishment.

Jeremy S.

Yelp
This is the only place of it's kind in the West Palm Beach area that I am aware of. I am so glad I encountered it a while back. You will find both eclectic people and music here, unlike most places in the area. Mostly local and/or independent industrial/gothic/metal. I feel more at home here than any other club in the area. No yuppies here, folks! In regards to being smoky... People can and do smoke inside, but I'm sure the fog machine is responsible for most of the "smoke" seen. If you need some air, there is a DJ playing outside in the rear :) Their regular shows are always free. As far as I have seen, when they have a few bands lined up on one night, cover has been $15 max. Their website is always kept up to date with show details and drink deals. I do have one thing to note, however: Despite what the advertisements say, I have never seen a show start at 8:00... usually the place is empty until 10:00 and doesn't get started until around 11:00. I've been there about 10 times total. If you're not into the same old pop music you hear on the radio and yuppies you'll find at other places around here, you should check this place out!
google avatar

Ali W.

Yelp
A nice spot to get away from the vibe on the rest of clematis. Drinks are reasonable and the crowd is much more enjoyable than elsewhere. I always forget about respectable's until I stop in, then I wonder why I haven't been there all evening. It's VERY hipster, which to me is it's greatest drawback but I'm sure is alluring to a lot of people.
google avatar

Benson B.

Yelp
Longest running nightclub in the SE U.S. Go a couple times and you've become a regular. No other place like it in West Palm. Go!
google avatar

Daisy P.

Yelp
Made the drive out to see a local band and was pleasantly surprised with the environment. Its spacious, the A/C works good, they have a good craft beer selection (but also serve liquors), they have a nice outside patio to hang out, and overall nice vibe!
google avatar

Karl D.

Yelp
Been going here for decades. Always awesome. Nothing not to like - outside of it could be a larger venue.
google avatar

Chris M.

Yelp
It might be my taste on music but my friends and I like this place, we're there every Thursday and Saturday night. Music choice is 90s 80s pop and indie rock. Outside in the backyard is karaoke and a small bar. On the inside is a full open bar and great art work from local artist. If your into the hipster scene I highly recommend this place.

L. V.

Yelp
Used to be a staple of our late nights, but never again. It was not busy on a thursday night, the bartenders constantly ignored us even though he saw us, he took others orders who arrived after us and we stood there 20 mins before someone was kind enough to see we were being passed over by the guy and was ordering so ordered ours too. No tip for that bum bartender. It's not like we're ugly or fat or whatever the bartender may ignore people over either. He was just a douche. Used to be a great club but now just douche-y.
google avatar

Steph B.

Yelp
The atmosphere is what makes this a great place and it's clear to me that the vibe has returned. Since my last visit/review I've noticed a serious change for the better here. I hope it stays because this is the place to come with friends for a drink, great music and good entertainment. Looking forward to my next visit and encouraging all to check this place out.
google avatar

Heimer D.

Yelp
Great place! However I will tell all my friends not to get a drink outside in the back that bartender with tats on her back she had a major attitude. However the Bartenders in the front where Awesome and funny and of course the DJ in the back Rocks!

Alex S.

Yelp
drinks were diluted and terrible, the bouncers were jerks as well, never going here ever again, the only nice aspect of this place is the artwork on the walls, but don't even bother because the service is absolutely terrible, wouldn't even recommend enemies going here
