Luneta & Lorneta Bistro Club

"The Pałac Ciekocinko Hotel, a large house dating back to the 1920s, is the home for this smart restaurant with a few plush details in its décor. Situated in the basement, there’s a pleasantly cosy feel to the dining room, which is accentuated by the cheery, welcoming service. A garden terrace is used to fine effect in the summer, while the cooking is admirably light on price and heavy on flavour. Confit duck leg with a fabulous silky jus is a prime example." - Michelin Inspector

Absolutely disastrous dinner. We were a party of 9, 4 adults and 5 children, hosting guests from Sweden. Waited over an hour from ordering for the bread, the starters. No kid’s food in sight. Ordered Primitivo and Riesling and got the wrong wine. Ordered water and waited over half an hour with empty glasses. Got the kid’s food only after going in to remind the waitress. Finally, after over 2h came our mains. Food was fine but by now our water and wine was long gone and noone asked us even once if we would like a refill. Immediately after our meal, wanted to order ice cream for the kids and heard that despite many flavours to choose from, it is impossible to order a scoop for each kid. Should order a full blown adult ice cream dessert with three scoops of ice cream for each kid instead. This was obviosly ridiculous, especially since at this point we were sitting there for almost 3h in the cold and dark (no one lighted any of the candles on our table) and it was nearly 10pm. Seeing the complete lack of understanding from the young waitress I asked her to ask her manager if perhaps 5 portions of kid ice cream would be available after all. In response, the chef (?) came to our table and instead of apologizing for the misunderstanding and/or lack of dessert options in the kids menu, he started giving me a lecture in front of our guests that the ice cream cannot be served by scoop because that takes a unacceptable amount of time but this time he will make a one-time exception since the restaurant is not busy (in fact there was only one other table besides ours in the whole place). Despite completely losing our appetite by this point, I decided to play along and agreed to whatever they could serve us. However, after another half hour of waiting, everyone decided it was impossible to continue and I took the check instead. When asking the waitress why the service was so inferior (no water, no wine refills, no candle lighting, 3h of waiting total, hostile attitude etc) she shrugged and when I pressed, told me the girl serving us is her second day on the job and doesn’t really know what to do yet. One person. For a table of 9. At a Michelin recommended restaurant. It was a complete failure and I feel embarrassed for taking my guests to this place. Very sad and frustrating.

Had a wonderful time in such a beautiful setting dining outside. Even though it was a little chilly, the blankets provided were a lovely touch. Hubert, our waiter was attentive and gave great recommendations. My meal was delicious and I was so satisfied by the presentation and taste of everything. Highly recommend and look forward to coming back next year. Keep up the great work and cheers to the chef and staff!

Amazing food and service. Hubert was very nice and well informed of the menu. We enjoyed entrees, dessert, wine and tea. All were fantastic. I cannot wait to come back in the future.
