"The name of this restaurant refers to the year in which the hotel in which it is located (the Park Hotel Holzner) was opened, while the design is a nod to the Liberty style of the period. Despite this, both the ambience and the cuisine bear the modern and imaginative hallmark of Stephan Zippl. Paying careful attention to sustainability, this chef selects the best regional produce for his dishes – even the Wagyu beef is raised in the chef’s native Renon region. This strong connection with the Alto Adige is also evident on the excellent wine list, which features almost 400 labels from the region and provides perfect pairings for the chef’s tasting menu. 1908 is one of those places that truly stays with you. Dinner kicked off with an actual bite of a lemon leaf from the tree on our table and we immediately understood this won’t be an ordinary dinner. Soulful and savory dishes each centered on a surprise element, from the Alto Adige wagyu to the truly memorable lemon thyme raviolo. The “walk” through Aspinger’s garden for the vegetable dish is pure poetry. Warm service, intimate atmosphere, each course came with its own carefully chosen glass of wine (the Abendrot niedermayr was the one that stayed with me and surprised me the most) An authentic experience, chef Stephan Zippl & team 10/10

This has to be one if the best meals I had. Totally forgot to take photos of the starter (which was some kind of cold fish soup inside a kohlrabi. Yes, I ate fish, and yes - it was good), and the amuse bouche (strawberry granita with hops ice cream). We each had a 3 course meal and had them paired with wine or cocktails. Each and every ingredient in each of the courses complemented each other perfectly. The deserts were prepared to perfection, the cutlery were beautiful, and the service impeccable. Prices are expensive, but considering you pay for an experience (and tbh - this is not something we do every day, month or even year) it was more than worth the cost to me.

The loss of the Michelin star was well deserved. While the food is good, it's nothing special. None of the meals have a wow factor. The service is disappointing: the waiter did not explain the dishes, and the head of service is arrogant and fake-friendly.

Ceative young chef with a distintive vision. We had the most intetesting and enjoyable dinner in memory. Outstanding wine list with fantastic suggestions for foid pairings. Throughly enjoyable and knowledgable service. We cannot wair to come back.

A few nights ago, our long-awaited dinner came with high expectations. Although the food was good, it fell short of our anticipations. None of the dishes elicited a "wow" from us. When the dish before dessert arrived, we were served something that had been flash-frozen with nitrogen. When I took my first spoonful, it stuck to my tongue, causing a cold burn. My husband also experienced the same problem. Unfortunately, we were unable to eat or drink anything after that. The initial waitress nonchalantly responded "OK, OK," then the younger one apologized repeatedly for the unpleasant experience. I would also add that this waitress wasn’t able to explain the entire menu in English - which was quite poor. To summarize, we ate in many Michelin restaurants, this one doesn’t deserve this star! Oh and the compensation was - reducing the 2 glasses of sparkling wine from the check. Value for money - low...

Very diappointing experience. All dishes in either bitter or/and extremely salty taste. Service was cool. Waiters just delivered their duties with a pocket face and showed no interest in customers' feedback. The worst muchelin restaurant that i have tried.

We had such an incredible meal here. The dishes were creative and beautifully composed - with complex flavors and textures. The veal was out of this world and the meal was full of positive surprises with multiples layers. The wine pairing was also amazing (with local wines only).

We visited the restaurant some time ago and we still remember it as one of the very best restaurant experiences ever. Superb cooking from hyper local ingredients. We didn't have any expectations but we were totally amazed. Should have more than 1 star
