Extraordinary restaurant with fantastic food, drinks and service. We've had the new year's dinner and it was something truly special for us.

This was an excellent dinner, fantastic simple but brilliant cooked food. Wonderful flavour combinations complemented by the good value wine pairing

Such a lovely restaurant! We chose this restaurant based on good reviews when we were passing by Maastricht after a weekend away nearby and I am so glad we found this little gem! From the aperitif & oysters, amuse bouche to dessert, everything was wonderful and creative. The hostess is very charming and super friendly, explaining everything in English and again in Dutch. Such a nice evening. Highly recommended!

Ever had food so amazing that it made you angry? Like, Restaurant 55 has figured this out, why can’t all restaurants get it? We had the chef’s three course and it was one amazing experience after another. Staff was so friendly and the restaurant is absolutely beautiful. Highly recommended !!! Raw chickpeas were delicious 😉

Visited with a group of 6 and chose the 6 course menu with wine, caviar and oyster to start with. Cozy ambiance with jazz music in the background. Staff is friendly and takes care of their guests. The duck was incredible.

Delicious combinations, in a very surprising set of dishes. The menu is concisely indicating which ingredients to expect, but be prepared for the unexpected as you'll find your fish and meats done three times differently all competing for your f(l)avour. Martijn and Alison present their superb combinations without pretence or brawl. They just want you to have a great evening with really really great food and wines. Don't be fooled by the simple menu as you'll be surprised with a wonderful combination of food you can recognise (lamb, pork cheek, lobster) usually casually accompanied by the odd wink from the molecular kitchen. Whilst I am not a fan of the latter, 55 offers a great way to enjoy your traditional food in multiple ways and be genuinely surprised by the combinations on your plate. If you want traditional food; stay away. If you want superbly done amazing surprises on your plate; look no further. A great addition and unique to Maastricht. Bound to become a bucket list item by word of mouth.

Maastricht has a number of very good restaurants but this was an experience on a whole other level. No words, extremely worth it. Ambiance is great, feels like being in someone's home, the small team is knowledgeable and very friendly.
