"In the heart of Colmar's Little Venice, this half-timbered building houses the Le Maréchal hotel as well as its restaurant, which is done out in a very classical style. Try to reserve a table in the blue room with exposed timberwork and a view of the River Lauch. Expect modern cuisine that revisits the classics of the local terroir and gastronomy." - Michelin Inspector

We requested for seats by the canal but was informed that they were reserved. We were then seated at the inner area with red plush seats. We ordered steaks and sea bass which were decently plated. The sea bass was good for me.

We dined here over three evenings as part of our Christmas package. Food was very good each evening with hardly a bad dish throughout. The only issue for us was portion sizing, very generous to say the least, unfortunately we couldn’t get through each dish. Service was exceptional from the whole team on every evening.

This is the best place in Colmar. The food is simply delicious. Here are the best dishes I have eaten in 2023. I planned to propose to my girlfriend at this hotel. The hotel team, which is a really great team, took care of all the details, making it a truly romantic moment. We will definitely return to this hotel throughout our lives to feel full again. Congratulations to the team for their professionalism, for how attentive they are. Congratulations to the kitchen team, they really deserve the Michelin award

The food here was delicious, and the servers were very nice and helpful, cleaning the table before dessert, replacing utensils, and explaining every component of our food. The atmosphere was very fancy, and it was next to a river, which gave good views. The food presentation was very fancy and gourmet, and very good tasting.

Chef takes you to a wonderful journey of flavours. There are a lot of bold and interesting combinations. With nice presentation. Nice experience, with an awesome ambience. Service was a little lost and not friendly. They even made a few mistakes on the bill.

Fantastic restaurant. Went here for a Christmas Eve lunch, and was not disappointed! The view of the canal decked for Christmas from the table was beautiful, and the food was just as gorgeous... and delicious! Highly recommend the venison with deep fried ravioli, and the poached pear with chestnut mousse for dessert. We were too early in the day for the Christmas menu, but no regrets. The regular menu is amazing, and the restaurant itself is beautiful. Hope to be back someday. Service was also extremely nice and spoke English. Five stars for every aspect!

Most of our dishes were tasty and up to our expectations, except for the veal that was overdone and too plain. We ordered a la carte and we felt portions were too small for that. The cheese plate was not selected for cheese lovers, more for tourists and the champagne that was brought out in replacement for the ruinard that they were out of was too acidic and did not compare. BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY: the service was absolutely unsatisfactory, the greet time was about 10 minutes, we had to waive our server down to get poured or order more, plates were auctioned at the table and we had to actually audibly call out for our servers attention on 7-9 occasions. We announced a birthday at the table with our reservation and yet they didn’t bring the birthday desert until 20 minutes after we asked for the check and were getting out of our seats. We had also mentioned before we would like a coffee service but were never offered any. This place JUST CANNOT in any realm of reality have any michelin recommendation!

Some of the unfriendliest service I have ever witnessed. Our main waitress, who seemed to hold some low level managing position, didn't make any effort whatsoever. Abysmal. As far as the food goes, our mains (pigeon and salmon) were good and starters mediocre. The chocolate dessert was middle of the road, the rhubarb was - to be fair - exceptionally good. We also ate at bord'eau, also a Michelin plate just 50 meters further. Less classical French, if that is what you're looking for, but cheaper and wayyyyy better, both by taste and service. It is owned and run by a 2 Michelin star chef, and it really shows.

Yelp
Excellent gastronomic restaurant in nice historic setting - good is excellent blend of full flavors and textures. The restaurant opens at 7 and reservations early on are necessary. Not possible to sit outside when rainy - Shane because view of little Venice is excellent. We enjoyed our experience much and was even further enhanced by an excellent member of staff - thank you Jessica

Yelp
We made reservations to night of our arrival because it was easier than looking all around. We were so pleased with our dinner that we made reservations for the next two evenings. We'd highly recommend the complete 3/4 course menu on the last page, although we chose to skip the cheese course. The al a cart venison is excellent. The pigeon was very good as well although it was too rare for me. All in all after surveying a wide range of eating places, it was no more expensive and even less expensive than many others. It certainly has a wonderful setting on the canal and exceptional service. The special before and after treats make a positive impression as well.
