Went back to Aji after my last visit over a year ago and I'm happy to report that even when their head chef changed (and therefore they don't offer the gastronomic expedition anymore), their dining experiene remains good, although I missed more "punch" in the flavors. If you enjoy Latin/Asian flavors, this place is for you! We enjoyed the 5 course dinner (missed the photo of the meat dish), which presented a varied menu of seafood, vegetarian, and meat dishes. We ordered a beautiful sparkling rose bottle to accompany the dinner and asked for a red wine recommendation for the meat dish. Our very nice, attentive, and friendly server recommended a glorious red wine that paired perfectly with the dish (even though it was not normally offered by the glass, many thanks for that!). The highlight of the evening was by far the vegetarian dish, which was a rare combination of green apple, avocado, and salsa macha. Pure perfection and bomb of flavors! The only downside for me is that the portions are on the smaller side. I've been to various high end restaurants and portions tend to be a tad bigger... or maybe it's just me wanting a bit more of everything 😜

I went there with a group of girlfriends during the Restaurant Week, with a fixed 4-course menu (excl. drinks, incl. amuse). The hostess offered to take our coats and umbrellas when we arrived and saw us to our tables. However, since the beginning she kept pushing us to order starters (even though we were going to get the fixed menu mentioned above). During the service she was never very friendly, often a bit curt and sometimes even rude. The other waitresses who brought us the food and explained the dishes were very friendly. And the food itself was perfect (I’m glad we didn’t order any starters before the menu arrived, because we were completely full after dessert). Would have been a 5-star review if not for the hostess.

We ordered the 5 course menu, and the first 3 courses along with the amuse were so inventive, creative and tasty! That really set the stage for the main course which didnt live upto the same level as the other courses. I think I expected a bit more from the main dish. The dessert was also a bit of letdown compared to the other dishes. The start was great, but the end was a bit lacking. Also the service could be a bit more prompt. Took us quite sometime to order the drinks and get the menu started.

An explosion of flavours and textures! Delicious and creative! Beautifully done and with great detail. Very well deserved for the bib gourmand list. Found the personnel very knowledgeable. Relaxed environment and great deco, colourful and cosy with a touch of sophisticated elegance. Good environmental music. Certainly a place to return over and over again. Now on my list of favourite restaurants in Rotterdam!

Great fusion between different cuisines. The chef is Dutch but has Peruvian influences in his dishes. We had a great time. They cater to vegetarians and vegans as well! Restaurant host was friendly and mindful.

Aji is a beautiful restaurant and I enjoyed the atmosphere. The toilets made me laugh as the female toilet was marked with an oyster and the male toilet with a shrimp, funny design. We went for a chefs menu which was a nice combination of different flavours of multiple international cuisine's. However two of our dishes weren't as warm as we think they would have had to be. The service could have been better as it didn't match the level of dining. Would definitely recommend to try as it is something different that we did not yet have in Rotterdam. Also really liked the confirmation / reminder through whatsapp on the day of the reservation.

This simply is a fantastic restaurant with a great chef. The dishes on the menu are very creative and incredibly tasty. We had, amongst others, the salmon, the duck and the ceviche. Staff in the restaurant is really good too. They have attention for detail and really try to make your evening special. Before I forget, they serve some excellent wines and ports too!

First time at Ají and we will definitely be back. The staff was helpful, friendly and made sure to go out of their way to make sure we had a great night. The food was excellent, we went for the 5 course menu to experience the journey and it did not disappoint. Definitely worth the money. Quality, quantity, everything. This is a new favorite in Rotterdam 👏🏼

My wife and I sat at the bar and ordered the Japanese oysters for a starter, delicious. Then we had the five course tasting menu, accompanied by the wine pairing. Josiana selected the wine pairing, she was quite friendly, patient, and charming, as were the rest of the front of the house staff, Rosa, Zara, and Ellen. The food was delicious from start to finish, and the wine was well curated. Probably the longest meal of my life, but it didn't feel that way. The ladies and the kitchen took their time; and allowed us to linger and savor every course. Not only that, but the kitchen was the quietest, low stress kitchen I've ever seen, especially on a busy Saturday night. My wife and I have dined at a number of Michelin starred restaurants, and this establishment deserves at least one. Mijn vrouw en ik zaten aan de bar en bestelden de Japanse oesters als voorgerecht, heerlijk. Daarna hadden we het vijfgangenproeverijmenu, vergezeld van het wijnarrangement. Josiana selecteerde het wijnarrangement, ze was heel vriendelijk, geduldig en charmant, net als de rest van het personeel van de receptie, Rosa, Zara en Ellen. Het eten was van begin tot einde heerlijk en de wijn was goed samengesteld. Waarschijnlijk de langste maaltijd van mijn leven, maar zo voelde het niet. De dames en de keuken namen de tijd; en liet ons toe om te blijven hangen en van elke cursus te genieten. Niet alleen dat, maar de keuken was de stilste keuken met weinig stress die ik ooit heb gezien, vooral op een drukke zaterdagavond. Mijn vrouw en ik hebben in een aantal restaurants met Michelin-sterren gegeten, en dit etablissement verdient er minstens één.
