Restaurant Alois - Dallmayr Fine Dining

While exploring Munich, we came across Alois and stopped in for a quick bite. They offer both fine dining and takeaway, and we went with takeaway. There was a good variety to choose from. Here’s what we ordered with our ratings Vegetable lasagne 4/5 Tomato mozzarella tarte 4/5 Tiramisu 5/5 The food tasted great, and the service was quick and efficient with the packing.

We had the lunch menu, which offers slightly fewer courses than the dinner version, but it was still an absolutely outstanding experience—especially with the wine pairing. I particularly loved the red wines, which stood out even more than the whites for me. Every dish was both visually stunning and delicious. Even something as simple as kale was transformed into a work of art. The attention to detail and creativity in the presentation and flavors was truly impressive. The service was exceptional—warm, professional, and exactly what you’d hope for in a place like this. Overall, it was a wonderful and memorable lunch. I’d love to return for the full dinner menu, which I imagine must be even more incredible. Highly recommended!

Excellent Michelin 2 star restaurant hidden in second floor of Dallmayr Delikatessenhaus which ground floor contains gourmet materials and bistro area.Oksana and Enrico have professional, warm altitude to make us a wonderful dinning experience. Thanks for Chef Rosina's final greetings.

Lovely restaurant with beautifully planned space and gracious staff. The food is exceptional and well deserving of its Michelin stars.

Let's start this by saying this was my first 2 Michelin star experience. This review is based on the lunch menu in Alois Fine dining restaurant where you have to make a reservation in order to eat there. The atmosphere and the service here was exceptional! They made sure you know you are in good hands and everything is taken care of since the moment you step in. The lunch I ate was an 11 course menu. Detailed review for each dish: Starter course Carrots with garlic butter in coffee sauce and carrots with dill and chips A good small portion that cleans the mouth very well Second course Kolorhabi with seaweed and ice cream inside is a super interesting dish, surprising flavors and everything comes together in an excellent way, makes appetite for more. This is a bite portion and eaten all at once Third course Blue clam, mustard lettuce and mustard leaves You can feel the freshness, everything comes together, the taste of the sea is noticeable but does not overpower the other flavors in the dish and comes together well, the dish sits in seaweed and is also eaten in one bite. The dish is reminiscent of a refreshing salad. As not a big fan of oysters it was really tasty and you don't notice the oyster visually Fourth course Tartar and red shrimp in a crispy potato shell, the taste of chips on a campfire, a very accurate and successful dish, it is crispy but soft in the mouth, very successful, the best dish I have eaten here A fifth course Chestnut wild boar and elderflower A very tasty fruity dish The flavors combine very well in the mouth There is a combination of sweet and salty The flavors stay in the mouth and give a feeling of more The pork is not felt as meat but as something very light in the mouth with a very good texture sixth dish Liver of char (fish) served with a brioche bun coated with honey in blueberry sauce eaten with your hands a very tasty dish a different type of liver than I have eaten, the taste is not of fish but very reminiscent of foie gras in flavors A big dish is dirty and bring a hot towel to clean your hands after seventh dish Mashed peas served with apple-flavored mint in a sauce made from peas and black pepper A slightly spicy dish that gives a special twist to the peas and refreshes with fresh leaves. Eighth course Trout fish with poppy seeds and pineapple tomato in a sauce at room temperature. The fish melts in your mouth and is very tasty. The sauce accompanies it well, the flavors combine well. The sourness of the tomato is a little too strong for my taste, but still very tasty. Ninth course Grape date lemon sorbet and sweet pepper cleans the flavors in the mouth refreshing sour and light perfect for refreshment Tenth course A piece of deer topped with sliced sausages made here in a sauce alongside fresh peaches, sunflower seeds and fine tahini underneath The second best dish I ate here, both in size and in quality, the deer melts in your mouth and is very easy to cut with all the sauce and ingredients around it, everything goes together very well and is very pleasant in the mouth, the dish is not too heavy and sits firmly in place Eleventh course Strawberry sorbet with lemon served with different types of strawberries from Germany in an excellent dessert strawberry sauce with many combinations of textures and flavors, soft and cold crispy. The flavors combine excellently, the dessert is quite large and sums up the meal in an excellent way ending 2 small bites of desserts that go with the espresso, one with crackling in the mouth after and one with whipped cream and light cream Excellent espresso Overall this restaurant is not cheap but I would 100% recommend coming here to experience an amazing fine dining. I would consider this an attraction more than just a dinner so really worth the price you pay!

Incredible setup, the fine dining experience is elevated to New Levels when visiting Alois. I’ll warmly recommend to book well in advance and go for the excellent tasting menu, it is costly but it’s worth it!

Really one of the best two-stars I’ve been to. Service was amazing, food was incredible! Special shout out to the sommelier, too! One of the best!

What a catastrophe, twice yes twice the chicken arrived with blood! Sent it back paid and left simply dangerous to eat raw chicken. They should know and DO better. The lax was good only to open a package, the tuna was tasteless for me the salsa does not work with it and it needs more. At 75€ for one starter one main and two sides (yes they credited the raw chicken but charged the side) this place needs urgent attention by a manager we did not see one and we were not approached by one.

This place is a dream for a foodie!!! We really just walked around and checked out all of the amazing things it had to offer and I was so jealous we couldn't pack a picnic (far too cold outside) or take it to an apartment. So many amazing things to see which made me feel like we were learning more about the culture. The shop is incredible and locals line up to get in early.

Strolling away from Marienplatz in the heart of the Old City in Munich, I glanced into what appeared to be a very posh and ornately appointed store with all types of culinary delicacies around. One's eyes would easily dash in different directions, from breads, cheese, meats, pastries and neatly arranged jars of jams, honeys and a vast array of foods. A chorus of discussions would draw one's eyes toward the lovely restaurant for those with the time enjoy the hospitality of what i discovered was a very old and highly coveted brand in Germany. Dallmyr, with its high calibre products appears on par with Fortnum & Mason in the UK, renown for its posh appeal and brand name. Visiting there on Valentine's Day, it would be impossible to leave without bringing back a special culinary craft. All said and done, the option taken was for a medium strength, creamy blue cheese. The quality test was easily passed at home, as the gift was enjoyed readily. Dallmyr is a must for those in Munich, whether visiting or having the privilege of residing there.

Dallmayr is an extraordinarily glamorous food and beverage store with a chic bar and cafe. We stopped by one Saturday morning in November and stylish locals were already having glasses of wine to start their day. We wanted to have lunch there but were told that they were sold out and that reservations were essential. The interior contains a number of meat and cheese counters but it was also a great place to buy food related souvenirs such as canisters of tea, coffee, chocolates and marzipan. There was an extensive liquor and wine store too. Everything was of the highest quality and it was simply a pleasure to visit!

This is a most amazing place with a great many beautiful culinary delights housed in a very efficient use of space. Dallmayr is a family owned business that has a pedigree going back over 300 years so they have some small experience with creating pleasing things for humans senses to enjoy. They are the largest delicatessen business in Europe, and one of the best-known German coffee brands. Dallmayr runs four eating venues with their Restaurant Alois (fine dining), Bar & Grill, Café-Bistro and their amazing Delicatessen. Dallmayr also runs their large scale distribution operations across Europe. They have separate departments for wine & spirits, delicatessen, coffee, tea, patisserie, confectionery, meat, ham and sausage, fish, deli, jam & honey, dried fruit, fruits and vegetables, cheese, bread and gifts. This is a must visit establishment and for even more bonus quality they also offer an Oyster Night at the Dallmayr Bar & Grill every Wednesday night from 6pm and the oysters here are sourced from some of the most amazing oyster production locations in Europe (and the best I have ever had). The Bar & Grill is small so their can be a wait so be prepared for that while upstairs at the Café-Bistro there is much more space and you can enjoy some coffee and desserts easily. Do an internet search and watch some videos of this place to see the sheer scale of fantastic food on offer here to really understand how this is really a culinary Mecca that calls you to visit ASAP.

Came in for brunch on a Saturday. Great brunch place. Crisp white tablecloths, silver cutlery and lovely decor set the stage for the good meal to come. Service was hit and miss but overall good. Varied options on menu to suit all palates. Lots of lovely bread to temp everyone. Hubby had an omelette and I tried the schlemmer frühstück which was delicious. It came with a shrimp in a cold creamy sauce, smoked salmon, duck pate, prosecco and a LOT of bread. Definitely worth a stop in and we will be back!

On a recent trip to Munich, I was introduced to Dallmayr coffee. Our hotel served Dallmayr at breakfast and it was delicious. I am a big coffee drinker and my wife is an occasional coffee drinker. When I took my first drink one morning, I thought boy, this is great coffee. I didn't say anything to my wife at first, waiting for her to take her first drink. After she took a drink, she said wow, that coffee is great. Since coming home I have found a couple places to purchase Dallmayr. I soon realized you must brew Dallmayr according to instructions to get the same flavor we enjoyed in Munich. At this point I'm still tinkering with the coffee to water ratio in a drip brew maker to get that perfect cup. Dallmayr is low acid yet full bodied. I've found my new favorite coffee!

Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Cleanliness: 5/5 Decor & Style: 5/5 5 star all around! This place has everything. Wine, meats, seafood, cheese, fresh squeezed orange juice, mineral water, caviar, pretzels, salmon, chocolates, sweets, tea, pasta, I can go on and on. You can eat here everyday up to a year and still can't be bored with it. I lost some of my pictures so I will only post 1 unfortunately, but thank goodness there are a lot of pictures already here on Yelp for people to check out. Please come here!!

This cafe is crowded but the atmosphere is really nice. There are many tourists but also local people too! The waiters and waitresses are friendly. I had Sachertorte. The cake was soft and very suit to whipped cream. I'd like to try Apfelstrudel someday. 日本でも有名なダルマイヤーの本店カフェです。平日のおやつの時間に行きました。店内は狭くはないですが、人気店なのですでに3組ほど並んでおり、10分ほど待ちました。 隣に座っていらした地元のご夫婦が「ザッハトルテとアップルストゥリューデルが人気」と聞いたので、ザッハトルテを頼みました。追加オーダーの甘さ控えめのホイップクリームとよく合いました。

The bistro is on the second floor of the store and serves breakfast until 12:30 I think. The breakfast here is so good. You get to try a little bit of everything. We got the fitness breakfast and the avocado and egg breakfast. Comes with coffee and juice and bread. Their butter and honey are very different tasting and not to be missed. Bill for breakfast was about 40 euro for 2 people

If you are in Munich, the upstairs tea room and the downstairs cafe are great stopping places. And of course there is the delicatessen with the best foods from all parts of Europe. Worth a meal especially weekdays lunches as weekends are reserved for local residents mostly.

In my opinion , the best cafe in Münich! I love staff, and also the best desserts in my life, best taste and feeling! I really recommend this place, and recommend you a Chocolate cake, my favourite there. Really recommend!

Wonderful little food hall near the Marienplatz. Reasonable prices in the food hall, I can not comment on the restaurant as I did not visit that part

Mmmm.... Yum! Head upstairs to rest your feet with coffee, tea, and some munchies!!! Service was quick which I was a little surprised at. I ordered a chai tea which came in a huge double walled glass. A little cookie came with it. Delicious. No sugar was added which was nice. Lumps of natural brown sugar did the trick. The dessert case is something that should be glanced at. Walk on over and take a look!!! Its worth it... And well you'll probably end up getting something. If your german isn't good... Just do as I did and take a picture of what you want ;) I had the rum cake. House special. Sooooo good. Very tasty and goes nicely with tea. Not too big and not too small... Some of the other cakes look gigantic... Maybe a bit much for a snack... Otherwise, its a cozy place... Worth a stop in :)

We came for a weekend coffee/cake time. The entrance to the Café might be slightly confusing: take the stairs to get seated (or to wait in line to get seated); the elevator to the Café would just result in the staff telling you to go wait by the stairs. It was busy when we went, but the turnover at the Cafe was relatively fast. We had 3 parties ahead of us, and we waited at most 15 minutes. The service was a hit-and-miss. The server was nice, but he seldom checked on us. We waited a bit too long to order (15 minutes after we sat) and to pay. We indulged and tried two of their special coffees: San Sebastian and Hawaii Kona. Both were served in French presses and came with a sandglass to time the proper brewing time before pressing the coffee. Perhaps it was my inexperienced tongue, but I couldn't taste the essential elements in the Hawaiian Kona. The San Sebastian, on the other hand, was well-balanced, and one could taste the hint of chocolate in the coffee. With a slice of poppyseed cheesecake to go along with the coffee, it was a pleasant afternoon.

(FYI their restaurant/cafe is closed - at least when I was there last week) BUT I will review their grocery store! This is a fantastic gourmet grocery store that is nicely sectioned off almost into little boutiques. I bee lined to the bakery, where there were just TOO many desserts to choose from (and the presentations were fantastic). After waffling for a bit, I chose the rhubarb, apple tart. The base was nicely buttered, and had a hint of cinnamon. No oil residue on the hands afterwards (!) and I loved the combination of the two fruits. A bit on the sweeter side (but I am Asian and am used to minimally sweet cakes). I enjoyed it with their classic black coffee (section is right across from the bakery). If you walk through, there is a wide selection of cheeses, preserved meats, etc. If I return to Munich, I will definitely come here and buy a bit of everything to picnic in the English Gardens!

Cafe Dallmayr is located on the second floor of the framed foodie paradise. This place has a classic and comfortable atmosphere. It wasn't very busy when we arrived for lunch, but the place quickly filled up. I recommend coming in a little early to avoid the crowd. We ordered the salad with salmon mousse and ravioli: Salad with Salmon Mousse Salad can be quite boring without dressing for flavor, or ingredients to add texture. In this case, the saltiness from salmon and caviar complimented the balsamic dressing nicely without overpowering. I wish I can get a larger portion, but it was a starter course. Ravioli with Scallops This was a light and clean dish, but not without flavor. The apple and celery added to the theme. The scallops were nicely cooked. I do wish the orange chili sauce had a little kick.

Sitting in the small corner of Dallmayr, enjoyed a glass of white wine and watching people shopped at this specialty food store, nice.

Service were great! We had total of 7, but they seated us real fast in the afternoon busy time. Friendly staff and cake and drinks were great!

Dallmayr is a family-owned business with over a 300 year history. Dallmayr is famous in Germany for its coffee and is also one of the largest delicatessens businesses in Europe. The store, located in Munich's old town, has a very unique floor plan. The store is laid out by separate departments such as coffee, tea, meat, fresh produce, cold and hot prepared foods, cheese, bread, wine, liquor, chocolates, pastries, and more. Coffee is weighed when you make your purchase. This location houses a two star Michelin restaurant and the Café-Bistro upstairs on the first floor. The Lukullusbar on the main floor offers fresh raw Atlantic oysters, caviar, and champagne. The store is visually gorgeous. The presentation is fresh and clean. My only criticism is there is always long lines to make purchase. I have been in the shop in weekday mornings, weekends, and holidays and the lines are usually very long and the store can get very crowded. We went upstairs to the cafe and were surprised because it looked so fancy with their logos on all the plates and tea service. We felt a little underdressed in jeans and our typical rainy weather gear. The food and service was outstanding- we ordered the Rooibos mango tea, bouillabaisse (seafood) soup, and oxtail ragout with pappardelle noodles. All of the food preparation was exquisite.

Excellent quality coffee and deserts. Place is super crowded, however the line moves quickly. Excellent staff service polite and accommodating. They also have dine in menu at the upper floor.
