Restaurant Amaranto

Warmer weather makes us crave tacos and margaritas, and we found incredible versions of both here. We loved the elaborate yet understated décor that truly gives the atmosphere an extra touch of authenticity. We started with an exquisitely spicy and balanced, refreshing jalapeño margarita, followed by many dishes we couldn't get enough of. At the top of our list were the fish tacos. We love fish tacos, and these were no exception. Huge and fried to perfection, topped with the freshest ingredients, we could have stopped there and been more than happy, but of course, we didn't. The tacos de suadero, with their juicy and lightly charred beef, a classic, were good. So, so good.  Likewise, everything else we ordered was delicious, and there is no question why they've been operating since 2007.

The food was good, a bit small compared to other authentic Mexican restaurants we usually frequent. The service was good but the only 2 servers were slammed on a sat night. The restaurant itself is a bit small and so their menu but the overall experience was good. The seasoning was perfect.

Awesome Mexican food decently priced. Good drinks as well. You need something „extra“ just talk to the staff :)

Brings me back to my trips in Mexico. Great attention to detail and very authentic. Not too spicy at all. Nice spicy sauces on the side included. Service was good a quick as well. Accepted credit. Paid $29. I’m so full right now. Can’t wait to go back!

Came here on a Friday night in May. Place was very busy with takeout orders. Staff was pleasant and the food was tasty. We shared beef tacos and battered fish tacos as well. Food was good. Could not have accompanying adult beverage as none were for sale. I mean this place is probably a 3-star, but the ambiance was warm and got me thinking that in time it will get better for sure. I guess it’s a vote of confidence of what’s ahead for this convenient Mexican restaurant with a street food feel. Thank you!

Loved them on Monkland and my husband & I made a special trip to them on St. Laurent. Very nice restaurant, great staff, so friendly and welcoming. And the food was DELICIOUS. Truly authentic homemade Mexican food. We were served chips & salsa verde and a regular homemade salsa that was the best Ive ever had. We ordered the chicken tacos and it was sooo good! You can tell that ingredients are fresh, and it is made on the spot. The owner told us about the last Thursday of each month they have flamenco dancers to feel free to come by & check it out. That made us feel special and it sounds like fun. HIGHLY RECCOMMEND, will definitely return.

Amazing food and service! We got homemade tortilla chips and salsa while we waited for our food and it's worth it for the chips alone! We got tacos al pastor and they were super flavourful. I wish there was more pineapple but otherwise fantastic! Highly reccomend!!
