The Best Tacos in Montreal - Eater Montreal

"This Mexican mainstay is also a top spot for tacos — there’s much more to this familial spot than just those filled tortillas, but if that’s what you’re looking for, they do chorizo, potato, cactus, and more." - Eater Staff

The Best Restaurants in NDG (Notre-Dame-de-Grace) - Eater Montreal

"A low-key Monkland Village favourite serving home-style Mexican dishes in an unassuming environment. You can’t go wrong with red or green chilaquiles, or a rich mole poblano with chicken." - Erik Leijon

The food was good, a bit small compared to other authentic Mexican restaurants we usually frequent. The service was good but the only 2 servers were slammed on a sat night. The restaurant itself is a bit small and so their menu but the overall experience was good. The seasoning was perfect.

Arrived at 6pm with tickets to a show upstairs at Sala Rossa at 8pm. We ordered promptly but food didn't arrive until 7:45pm! We had to chase the waitress to find out what was going on. No explanations, no apologies. We were told that we could bring food upstairs, but as it was General Admission and no tables, that was completely unfeasible. The people who arrived just after us ended up cancelling their orders as they wouldn't get their food in time! Food was flavorful though slightly underwhelming. They were out of fish, so I had the brisket soft tacos. Be aware that any sides must be ordered separately as there is not even lettuce on the plate. The room is extremely loud (weird acoustics) and I had difficulty hearing the person talking across the table from me. My suggestion is that the restaurant should "staff up" on concert nights. From other reviews it sounds like people have had a better experience.

Awesome Mexican food decently priced. Good drinks as well. You need something „extra“ just talk to the staff :)

Brings me back to my trips in Mexico. Great attention to detail and very authentic. Not too spicy at all. Nice spicy sauces on the side included. Service was good a quick as well. Accepted credit. Paid $29. I’m so full right now. Can’t wait to go back!

Came here on a Friday night in May. Place was very busy with takeout orders. Staff was pleasant and the food was tasty. We shared beef tacos and battered fish tacos as well. Food was good. Could not have accompanying adult beverage as none were for sale. I mean this place is probably a 3-star, but the ambiance was warm and got me thinking that in time it will get better for sure. I guess it’s a vote of confidence of what’s ahead for this convenient Mexican restaurant with a street food feel. Thank you!

Nice little restaurant to try once or twice. Came in a group of 4 and ordered all the different tacos on the menu plus the guacamole appetizer. The guacamole was just avocado mashed together and fell a bit flat for us, no seasoning or zest. The nachos that came with it were good though. Of the 6 different tacos we tried, the hard shell potato taco and the soft shell chorizo taco were my favorite. The others were dry and didn't have much going for them. The service was friendly but super slow. We waited over an hour for the plates we ordered above. Not really sure what the hold up was, but other patrons got their food much quicker than us. Overall, good but not great and not worth a repeat. Slightly pricy for what it was.

Delicious and seems Authentic, although I've never been to Mexico so have no point of comparison. The food was great! We had the avocado soup with pomegranate in it! It sounds odd but it was incredible! I'd go back just for the soup! And the soft tacos with beef were great! You get 4 small ones but it's definitely enough! Great place and nice staff. Pay by cash or debit only no credit and they don't have liquor or typical American pop. They have a great selection of Mexican sodas.

I recommend going to amaranto for authentic mexican cuisine and some very good margaritas! The staff is very friendly and generous!
