"From Lamartine to Stendhal and Maupassant, many a French author has waxed lyrical about the atmosphere of Lac du Bourget and the view over Mt Revard. For his part, Chef Alain Perrillat-Mercerot has made the lake and mountains the splendid backdrop against which he serves his delicate, creative cuisine that fervently champions the Savoie terroir. Classically trained, his high-precision preparation of freshwater fish, local cheeses and wild blueberries is second to none – choose between two carefully composed single-choice set menus. The fantastic wine list fetes local grape varieties (among others)." - Michelin Inspector

Hard to understand why so many opinions are positive. For me, over-rated and very over-priced. A very ordinary culinary experience and mediocre wines (at top prices).

A restaurant with (4) rooms rather than a proper hotel. Excellent food, good room, very good service. We booked in for the night on our way from the west of France into Italy, to take advantage of the acclaimed food. We were not disappointed. ||The menu gave a choice of priced courses or two set menus, of unspecified content, or a set of truffle courses, to pick from. We chose the five course set menu, but were given extra small items as well, so we happily lost count! The wine waiter, at our request, helped us pick from their incredibly extensive selection and we enjoyed a very nice Vouvray. We were so pleased with the meal we'll definitely call again when we're anywhere nearby in future. We'll have the priced courses menu next time though - we like to pick what we like, though the chef's selection was good, if a mystery until each course arrived. We told the waitress about an allergy and she checked with the kitchen to make sure we'd be OK, and back with us.||Our room (Rm 2) was satisfactory if not large, with a comfortable bed and adequate storage, but would be difficult for a longer stay. Our only minor gripes were about the shower-room: the sink had no plug, just a barrier, so we couldn't fill it, but had to let the water run, and the 'Italian' shower had no high wall fixing, making washing hair a bit awkward. Arriving in a winter evening we didn't see much of the view, but it looked likely to be wonderful in the daylight, though our morning was misty.||Finding it - At the turn off the main road is a sign to the restaurant but it's quite a long way up the steep, twisty hill, but the place is very obvious once you get there, so keep going! There is, of course, no hotel-style reception and the way in and out is through the restaurant. Car parking is fine. Overall - Expensive but good value.

We stayed here for two nights before our week of skiing just over an hour away in St Martin de Belleville. This is a beautiful modern and stylish restaurant with 4 rooms upstairs, so perfect for staying the night after an amazing dinner in the wonderful Michelin starred restaurant. We had such a warm welcome and enjoyed dinner in the restaurant on both nights - both times with the tasting menu and paired wines, all of which was exceptional - and a lovely breakfast too! Thank you.

We stayed here for a night on our way back from skiing and we will do so again. We arrived late in the afternoon and the owner offered us tea or coffee, clearing one of the beautifully laid restaurant tables for the purpose, plus a complimentary brioche. That really set the tone. The rooms are modern and very well thought out and absolutely spotless. Breakfast was good, although not outstanding, but I can understand that with only four rooms, there has to be a limit to its scope. The main event was, however, dinner. We chose the Instinct menu, where apart from an outline of the , I think, seven courses, you don't know what to expect. It was superb. Delicious food beautifully presented with immaculate service. I have a very healthy appetite and the overall amount of food was about spot on. We have eaten in quite a few Michelin starred restaurants over the years, and this was certainly one of the more memorable meals. Expensive but good value for what one received and I thought definitely towards the top of the range for one star. I look forward to another visit.

This is the kind of restaurant "avec chambres" that is so well worth looking out for. The rooms are more than adequate, but the true joy is the excellent food, good wine list and lovely service. We were lucky with the weather - the setting sun makes the mountains on the east of the lake go redder and redder with each sip of your aperitif on the terrace.||||This sort of thing isn't cheap, but as a treat for the last night of a holiday...

It has been a fantastic experience and the discovery of a great way of inovating in gastronomy. ||Every dish is outstanding : beautiful presentation, perfection of the produce, interesting and delicious unusual taste combination. Unlike many so called contemporary chef presenting everything "squares-with impossible-to-taste-dots-of-sauce", here each presentation is meaningful, tasty and makes sense, like the soft and crunchy pike mousse with herbs salad, where each mouthful tastes different depending on the herb you "fall" on, but that keeps the delicacy of the pike.||We have been literally flabbergasted and could only advise anyone to have this wonderful experience. VIew is beautiful over the lake. Service is friendly and good without being on you back all the time.

Excellent service for both room and dining. Restaurant service could not have been better. The food was creatively presented and prepared and the chef is superb. Compared to other Michelin Star restaurants, the combination of tastes could be improved--but that's against a very high level of restaurants.

Blown away by the beautiful views of the mountains and across the lake. Room very well appointed and the evening meal was a gastronomic delight. Service from staff was attentive and timely. Watching the sun set across the lake and the colour of the mountain change to reflect the setting sun will be long remembered
