"A small Lincolnshire market town is the home for this charming restaurant that’s full of period details. The menu allows for flexible dining, offering a selection of snacks, small plates and larger dishes; go for the tasting menu for the best overview, or the fixed-price midweek option for the best value. Across the board, the cooking is flavoursome and carefully prepared, with the strong technical skill of the experienced chef coming across in stand-out dishes like cod loin with bouillabaisse sauce. Make sure you order a helping of the impressive house-made focaccia." - Michelin Inspector

I took my Son, Daniel, for his birthday. We were both very impressed with the whole experience. The chef, also called Daniel, was running front of house and he was very engaging and helpful with the choices on the menu. The food was amazing, what he does with a carrot is unbelievable, everything was first class. The smoked salmon crumpets were delicious and my son loved the chicken wings as a snack. I had the Bruschetta, amazing but be warned it is quite large and chilling. The Sole was perfectly cooked and thankfully light enough to make up for the Bruschetta. My son went for the Guinea Fowl which he devoured and was so impressed with the flavours. Having travelled from Lincoln there was no way we could leave without having dessert and it SAS the right decision, I opted for the classic Pineapple Upside-down Cake and Daniel decided on the equally classic Baked Alaska, both after a fitting end to a memorable meal. My son, who is also a chef was so inquisitive and asked so many questions and Daniel, the Chef/Proprietor was very generous with his answers making the whole experience outstanding. Thank you.

Went for breakfast on a rare day that my wife and I were off. The options looked great and we couldn’t decide so we ordered 3 dishes to try, the steak n eggs, the full English and the Eggs Benedict. All were absolutely superb and the flavours were awesome. Great coffee and lovely service!

Went to the Auction House, for the first time to celebrate my birthday, we were not disappointed. Pre-Booked, which is recommended. The whole experience was excellent, great staff, Lucy & Fiona, front of house were very informative and friendly. Received a small chocolate Birthday Cake, which was a nice finishing touch. The food was excellently prepared by Gareth. We will be back, and will be recommending to friends and family.

We chose the 6-course chef’s selection tasting menu with wine pairing, costing £270. While some elements were enjoyable, the overall experience fell short of expectations for a meal at this price point. The service felt very rushed. Before we had finished one wine pairing, another glass was already being placed in front of us, and plates were cleared almost immediately after we finished eating. This made it difficult to relax and properly enjoy each course. Unfortunately, some of the dishes were not particularly nice or enjoyable, and the wine pairings didn’t always seem well matched to the food, which was disappointing given that this is meant to be a curated experience. We were seated directly in front of the bar area where staff were working, and we could frequently hear conversations through their headsets. This took away from the atmosphere and made the dining room feel more hectic than refined. For £270, we expected a more thoughtful pace, stronger execution across all courses, and better-considered wine pairings. Sadly, the experience did not feel like good value for money.

I can honestly say this was one of my best meals to date - and it isn’t in London, it’s in little old Louth. Mouth watering food, a friendly and attentive team and clearly a passionate chef. Superb.

Great food made from excellent ingredients accompanied by wonderful service. We opted for the chefs choice of six dishes, one of us being pescatarian, and everything was delicious from fresh oysters through to strawberries and cream... I am under selling it ....every dish was well balanced and full of flavour. Service was not only with a smile, attentive but not over the top, but also providing a full description of each and every course and the elements it contained. A lovely meal, and we will be back when we are next in the area.

10/10 experience: amazing food, beautiful serving, and in London terms also great value for money. This is not just “elevated cuisine”, it’s better. Will have to visit again and try the rest of the menu!

This place is the amazing! From the wonderful staff to the flavoursome, inspiring food the Auction House house is doing something really special in Lincolnshire. I took my mum for a belated Christmas gift. We received a wonderfully warm welcome and was made to feel at home. We opted for the 6 course chef's menu. The food really packs a punch and you certainly will not leave hungry. We also ordered a side of chips, mainly because I am greedy......but the God's of food have smiled down on these bad boys. They are the BEST chips I have ever eaten! The beef dripping and bread nearly made my mums head explode, and from start to finish we smiled and waxed lyrical about the quality of the food. The cheese board is a must and the quince jelly is delicious...especially with a nice drop of port. The cocktails and drinks in general are spectacular. I can highly recommend the Yuzu whiskey sour and spicy margarita. The drinks prices have been placed perfectly. All in all this team are doing something really special. You can see the chef's passion and influence in every dish and more importantly the care they have for their customers. I have been to a number of 1 star and 2 star restaurants and this would be right amongst them. This is going to be a place food reviewers and tourists flock to. I have already thought about my next 2 visits. Thank you to everyone on the team for giving us a wonderful and unforgettable evening.
