Restaurant Basiliek

The food is nice. The chief try to use a lot of local ingredients to support the locals and good for sustainability. The texture of the dishes is nice balanced, e.g. crispy coast pair with tender scallops, or crunchy potato pair with eels. Also interesting to try new ingredients, first time to try pinecone in the dessert, I like the fresh and “forest-y” taste it brings. The waitresses are really sweet and friendly. However, there are 3 things bothers me. One of them makes me consider to leave earlier. So I only give 2 only for the service. 1. in the eel, I got relatively big fish bones. The first bite I had I can clearly feel it in my throat. Did not want to spit it out, so I ate it. But then I checked carefully in the rest. And found another one. I took it out and put it on the plate. When waitress came to pick up the plates. I mentioned to them. They expressed, oh it’s is quite unpleasant. 2. The time between the last course before main and the main is MORE than AN HOUR. When it’s passing 30min, it becomes noticeable, but I waited and continued chatting as usual. Then 40 mins, I start getting annoyed. During this whole time no one did not came to explain or check. So when it’s 50mins I asked did they catch the duck yet. Finally, when it’s over an hour. The duck is served. But I have to say I lost my mood already. Took a picture more for the timestamp. 3. Considering the 1 and 2 happened, I would expect the chief or the owner come to say something. However, nothing during the whole time. There are 3 tables in total for the evening. One of them is his friend, so he chatted a lot with them ofc. The other table he also did at the beginning. But the whole time he never came to our table. Sorry to say, but there only two reasons come into my mind. He does not speak English at all. Or because I am not Dutch 🤷‍♀️. Neither of reasons is good from my view.

Enjoyed this very much, the place is extraordinary and the building is very historical. Decor is very peaceful and vibes are relaxed. The food is exceptional, as you dive into new forms of combinations, textures and tastes. The Chef is present and will gladly talk to you. Overall it is a good experience. One small inconvenience, and it does not necessarily involve only this restaurant but all the Michelin restaurants I visited, is the small portions that can be some times disappointing.

It was our second time at the restaurant and this time we joined for lunch. We will definitely come back for a third time! Amazing dishes, hospitality and such a beautiful restaurant!

Great experience and amazing food. The sommelier knows the best wine with the food so I would recommend to take that advice. Very friendly service and good atmosphere.

We had lunch here and it was amazing. Food was very delicious. And they allowed us to go to the kitchen to cook the desert - this was a unique experience!

Enjoy this at the max, what an amazing place. Great service lovely dinner in a historical location. I love the decorations and small groups. The staff take time for you and has great knowledge of the ingredients and food. Love their wine and combinations. So, with so many words of love in my text I would say. Visit and enjoy!

I really don’t know were I should start. My mother and I had an wonderful evening. It begins with the very nice young man who welcomed us at the front door and brought us to our table. I think we’ve got the best table at the restaurant, right near the kitchen. I’m a chef by myself and it was very interesting to have a little look into the kitchen and watch these young chefs who cooks with joy and passion our dishes. We recognized that every single member of the stuff was so friendly and you could feel the passion for what they are doing. And we were very impressed by the fact that the owner by herself worked as a part of her stuff, by serving dishes, drinks or takes the orders. She and her team was an perfectly well-rehearsed team. We’ve had a four course menu and every single course was a little explosion of different tastes. You can feel the love and the passion behind every dish. My mother told me later that this restaurant is know one of her favorite in years. (Since 4 years we go every year on vacation and try Michelin star restaurants in different cities / countries) I could write much more but you all have to try it by yourself. So all I can say is THANK YOU for one of our best dinner nights in years. We would love to come back and hopefully we have the pleasure to meet the head chef in person. (We were there at 7/20/2019)

We booked a table for the 3rd of August 2025 and when we reached the location the restaurant was closed! We tried to call them 4 times before arriving there as their staff tried to reach out to us at 8am on Sunday (come on, it's Sunday, drop an SMS if there is an issue or whatever may be the reason) Additionally, we have received the reservation confirmation via email and they have never canceled it, so we assumed all was good as per confirmation receipt. This is pretty ridiculous as we traveled around 1h for this special occasion. Untrastable restaurant!

Went here for lunch as a solo diner. Staff was attentive and kind without it being overdone. Service was impeccable and all courses were well timed, with breaks between courses reflecting the size of the course. Sat outside and I did have to move because of how sunny it got on one side of the table. The food was earthy and fresh and natural, I really really enjoyed every bite and nothing was ever really too much. The kitchen did an excellent job with execution and menu thoughtfulness. Highlights included the pea ice cream with a savory dish, honey accent with pea butter for a croissant, and cherry ice cream. I did get the caviar dessert and was really glad I tried it, but it missed the tanginess and zest that the cherry had. The kitchen apparently had extra caviar and so they brought out a very small supplemental dish for it-- a sweet surprise. I would absolutely be back and it wasn't bad at all for the price. Quality is absolutely there!
