Montreal’s Most Iconic Foods | Eater Montreal

"Many will remember the days when Boustan was a lone basement haunt where clubbers went to end their nights downtown. Today, it’s a full-blown chain — no longer owned by “Mr. Boustan” himself — with 24 locations across the city (though many still claim the original does it best). The chicken shawarma is the standard play, but Boustan’s “Creation,” jam-packed with extras like fried eggplants and garlicky potatoes, has garnered a devoted following." - Valerie Silva

The Best Student-Priced Food Near Concordia University | Eater Montreal

"Montreal’s most recognizable shawarma-slicer is known as a late-night, drunk food spot (perhaps due to its Crescent Street location), but there’s absolutely nothing wrong with stopping by for a pita and garlic potatoes during daylight hours. Every pita trio clocks in at under $10, too." - Holly Tousignant

I really enjoyed the food here. it was delicious and the portion was quite generous. I had the chicken shawarma, and it was packed with flavor. The staff were also super friendly. The only downside was the patio area, which wasn’t very clean. Also, I couldn’t find a recycling bin, so I had to throw everything, including my coke bottle, in the garbage. A bit more attention to cleanliness and recycling options would definitely make this place better.

Google
Overall , the experience wasn’t bad for the price. The portions were actually quite generous, and the food itself was tasty. They did mix up our order; giving us a chicken sandwich and meat bowl instead of a chicken bowl and meat sandwich, but honestly, no complaints there since both were still good. One downside, though, was the strong smell of burnt oil in the restaurant, which was pretty unpleasant. Also, the place didn’t seem to have proper air conditioning, which made the atmosphere a bit uncomfortable.

Google
Was referred to this place by a friend; amazing food. I was told that their Kafta kabab is best but I also tried chicken shawarma. Both dishes were amazing. Food was delicious and serving size was very generous. Highly recommend this place

Google
Delicious, affordable food. The inside is quite crowded so it can be hard to find a seat during busy periods and the line gets very crowded, but the food is worth it!

Google
First time visiting Montreal and spent the whole day exploring the city—fun but definitely exhausting. I stopped by this place for a quick bite and ordered a shawarma wrap and some chicken on fries (wedges). The service was super kind and fast, which I really appreciated after a long day. But the real highlight? The food. Absolutely out of this world. Flavorful, fresh, and perfectly satisfying. If I didn’t live so far away, I’d be a regular here. Honestly, I might just come back to Montreal just to eat here again. That’s how good it was!

Google
A must try if you’re in the area ! Very good food . Shawarma bowl has lots of meat and very tasty . Make your own bowl …

I have tried a lot of Boustan outlets. But among all of them, this is the best one I recommend. The service should be more friendly.

Google
Really great time at Boustan! We didn't speak French but found the staff patient and accommodating with our menu questions. My group each had a Mixed Shawarma Bowl, and I had my sauce substituted for their vegan sauce (love that there's an option that is still as creamy as the regular version). The beef and chicken were good, slightly on the drier side but very well spiced. The roasted potatoes were fantastic, as was the coleslaw. It was just pickled vegetables, but offered such a light freshness to the bowl! Great price for a filling meal. A couple of us packed leftovers to go. Would highly recommend! They have seating inside, but we saw others enjoying eating on the street level patio too.

Yelp
The food was fresh and delicious. They do a brisk business. I ordered the kofta pita and did not realize the they grill it to order. It takes a little longer than the shawarma , but it's worth the wait. Potatoes were hot and tasty.

Yelp
Delicious spot for a quick casual bite. Love that they toasted the outside for an extra Layer of texture. The potato's with the garlic sauce are out of this world! My only qualm while dining in is that ventilation is not great. It gets quite Smokey inside so my eyes started to itch and water. The food is worth it!

Yelp
They refused to give me an order I paid for. That's absurd. A scam I must say . I paid for two items but got one

Yelp
Great late night drunchies spot on Rue Crescent! They're open until 4AM, so you can pop in for a late night snack or to grab something as a hangover meal (future you will thank you). Upon entering the restaurant, I'm instantly reminded of the late nights waiting at a halal cart in nyc after a night out. This restaurant itself is not the cleanest and rather chaotic on weekend nights. Theres usually a long line to order, but it moves rather quickly and efficiently. The staff members aren't the friendliest, but they get the job done LOL. You'll find a bunch of hungry and probably drunk people sitting at the cafeteria styled seats at night. The food is the main selling point here though. I've gotten the mixed platter and shawarma platter; both with generous servings of protein all doused in a flavorful sauce. Ordered the poutine recently and was also impressed how much they loaded the protein. It was a little on the saltier side and wished they had more cheese curds, but still pretty enjoyable. The fries were also more like small potato wedges. I've recommended this place countless times for almost any point of the day, but they especially hit the spot after a long night.

Yelp
Came here with my best friend. I have tried other boustan locations. She told me this was the first location. It is a bit had to see from the street unless you know where it is. I got the mix platter, Salade, potatoes, rice, chicken and beef. The garlic was very liquid might be because I took it too go and it melted. Food was good and tasty. A little less then $20 for the mix platter.
google avatar

Yelp
I ordered the beef and chicken combo poutine and it was SO good! The gravy had amazing flavor and the meat was just so flavorful! I prefer the beef over the chicken, but overall for "mall" food, it was really good.

Yelp
Stopped by Boustan on a late night date and to relive some old montreal memories! Food is still good, service was fast and wasn't as packed as i remembered.
google avatar

Yelp
Good fast food! Had the falafel bowl and husband had the pita version, both were excellent but the bowl was a lot of food! Salads were very flavorful and fresh spices! One was avocado and the other was cabbage based. We also got a small cup of the beef and a side of the garlic sauce, yum!
google avatar

Ritesh S.

Yelp
This place is great to grab quick bite after all drinking and partying on Crescent St. Staff is super friendly and food is amazing. They serve pita sandwiches, bowls and platters. I had a falafel sandwich and it was pretty good. What I liked is that they grill the sandwich/wrap so it's not cold.
google avatar

Yelp
Not sure what the hype is, it's ok... This place is new so it still need a bit of improvement in terms of organization! It's a small shop and the back counter is all over the place, the shawarma meat is in the back, the toppings are in the front followed by the heating/panini grill is again in the back so lots of moving back and forth... Didn't like how the garlic sauce is all Congealed. But their hot sauce was bomb! Asked for hot sauce but the girl forgot to put it inside our wraps so got it on the side instead. Good to try but lots of other shawarma place to hit up!

Yelp
We stopped by Boustan after reading some rave reviews. It is clearly a national favorite with pictures inside with various celebrities and politicians (like Trudeau) plastered everywhere. It's an unassuming restaurant that has a simple seating area and ambiance. The food, though, is another story. This was some of the best shawarma I had. The meat was extremely tender, juicy, and flavorful. I would definitely check them out if you're in the area!
google avatar

Yelp
This place rocks! The potatoes with garlic sauce is unbelievably good; I ended up putting that sauce on my shawarma although it was great without. I love that they cut the meat right off the spit in front of you so you know its fresh. A great cheap eats place and the service was excellent.

Yelp
My mother and I were on a weeklong vacation in the Montreal area because why not. Looking for good food places to eat, this place was recommended by fellow Yelpers. And oh my God. This place's food was absolutely delicious. I'm absolutely astounded at how good the food was. The food memory I have of this place is so vivid. If there is any restaurant to hit up in Montreal, it's this place -- Boustan. One of the best things I ever ate in Montreal. Maybe the best thing I ate in Montreal. This place has made me claim my fanaticism for Lebanese food. I ordered the shawarma combo plate, which is also what Mom ordered. We were both happy with our joint decision. The combination of everything on the plate was so delicious. Nothing was slacking. Generous portions of food, but boy did I want more. The food speaks for itself.
google avatar

Yelp
good, filling and flavorful lebanese food. Nothing mind blowing, but good quality food with fair portions at a competitive price. also offer healthy options. absolutely amazing to indulge and/or recover after a night of drunk clubbing in Montreal - they are open very late!

Yelp
I recently ordered Boustan catering for an event for work. The experience was awesome. Really great service, they delivered the party packs to us without using an app that charges a premium, and they were friendly and lovely to work with. Everyone enjoyed the food, even the vegans. I wouldn't hesitate to order catering from there again. Thank you Boustan!

Yelp
This fast-food type Lebanese Restaurant is open until 4 AM because it is in one of the hottest night-club sections of Montreal. It is right next to the Jet Night Club. After 11 PM on a Friday Night when we stopped in for a late dinner--the street outside was packed and Boustan was packed with mainly people 20 to 30 years old. The line was long. The owner labored like crazy behind the counter with the growing line inside making Chicken Shawarma pitas and plates faster than you can say "Chicken Shawarma." He was treading water to keep up with the growing line inside to order and online orders coming in and the trash building up at the inside McDonald's like dumpster. Patrons then just started piling up the containers on the top of the garbage where the tray go. Food residue started piling up on tables as people left with no one to clean them off. Some new sitters cleaned them themselves and others just put their food right on top of someones else's mess they left. There are only about 12 tables in this restaurant packed together. Like Subway--they deliver your food to you just as you are paying on line--that is how fast it is. If you have a special order like Kabob, they will call you up 20 minutes later. The food here was good for fast Lebanese on a crazy rushed weekend night. But my compare was Sunin Lebanese in West Los Angeles and it's going to be hard to beat that family that makes the best Lebanese in LA especially at the pace that they were cranking out the food at Boustan. I got the Chicken Shawarma plate--all good except the Cole Slaw I was not crazy about--too much Mayo. Prices were reasonable--not sure I could handle the crazy atmosphere here again. If you have your buzz on and hungry before or after a club--great place to dine in the middle of everything. Street meter parking only. Free parking after 9 PM or 21:00 if you are from Montreal. They speak English no problem.

Yelp
This place was disgusting. The beef shawarma was inedible - unchewable gristle and dry, leathery beef strips, barely seasoned; served in a pita with what I can only call Lebanese cole slaw. I also tried the kibbeh, which was basically like eating beef-flavored gravel. Maybe the driest thing I've ever had in my mouth. I couldn't swallow it - had to spit it back into the to-go cup. Hummus-covered potatoes were strangely sweet and the hummus was grainy. I've eaten good shawarma all over the world and was hoping to add Canada to that list. Sadly no.

Yelp
Delicious, authentic, fresh food, great customer service. its also cheap compared to a lot of restaurants in the area. it was perfect after a long day of walking around. I would definitely recommend Boustan.

Yelp
Ah, Halal and Mediterranean food. When it's done right, it's done RIGHT. Let me explain... Atmosphere/Appearance: Almost on the corner of the busy, what seemed to be restaurant row (well, one of them) is this place. Highly recommended by many articles, so we had to try this place out. It's underneath some apartments so you have to walk down from street level, but there's nice outdoor seating right outside the restaurant. Once inside I'm instantly reminded of New York City spot. The line is always long and there's a limited availability of seats. The order counter is right in front of the kitchen with that nice glass you can see through to all of the delicious you're about to feast on. Service: There isn't any for real. There is a guy that will be going through the line asking you what you want in advance so that he can prepare it in advance to speed things up. There aren't the nicest here, but I guess they don't need to be. Lol. Food: Absolutely fantastic and it's in abundance. You get SO MUCH food in the trio combo. You get rice, a salad, potatoes, beef, chicken and another kind of beef plus pita bread... I mean, it's just SO MUCH FOOD. Lol. It's easily good for 2 meals any day. Value: It was like $11.95CAD. I couldn't believe how cheap the food was! That's like $9.00 USD and you basically get 2 meals out of it! How is this possible?! Lol. In conclusion, this place is awesome at any time of the day. They're open until 4:00am so it's the perfect place for hangover food, regular dinner food, lunch or that after a night of parting food. Come check this place out.

Yelp
Boustan is a classic that needs no introduction. The amount of Boustan's in Montreal and the surrounding burbs is crazy. Expanded like crazy; I see them everywhere now. This is the OG location (since 1986). The hours are amazing. Open every day till 4:00am! What more could you want? I've been several times during my university days but for my most recent trip, we went twice. Both times were at night; once at 3:00am and the other around midnight. The quality seemed better in the wee hours but you'll likely be waiting in line for much longer. Menu is straightforward; pitas and platter options. - 2x Chicken pita ($5.65) - we got the same thing both trips. First time, the shawarma was delicious. Second time around, it was sooo salty. Love how they crisp and toast up the pitas. To be honest, I can't complain too much; it's dirt cheap and open insanely late. The perfect late night spot to get your late night cravings in. Come after clubbing or wandering around downtown. The drunker/hungrier you are, the better it'll be. 3.5 stars.

Yelp
Ordered takeout from this place and the prices and food are both reasonable and delicious! Service is excellent and we ordered a couple of things including beef and chicken kebabs. Location is perfect - in the heart of downtown on a bustling and busy Crescent St. Perfect place for a quite bite after some binge drinking !!!

Yelp
Do you ever eat until you're on the verge of throwing up, refrain from throwing up.. Then continue eating? That is the experience I had with Boustan. After a sudden and complete URGE to have shawarma, I did some major googling to find that Boustan is one of the best in the area. - The service here is very up front and quick. They're generally pleasant, but I got the vibe that they just want to get to business because they're always busy, and deal with a lot of plates and wrapping that they don't have time to chit chat and be super friendly. - It's very casual, so I felt welcomed in that sense.. It's more chill than I thought it would be. I definitely would've dined but I wanted to get back to my warm hotel room - The food is prepared quickly, thank goodness! They wrap things up quite nicely and you're able to take napkins and forks after you've gotten all your food. - It's not that expensive imo, and even if it were, it'd be well worth the price, which leads me to.. - THE FOOD. It's warm, it's home-y, it's full of flavor. You want to keep eating, so you do! The pita is a little chewier than I'd like, but perfect as a side. The meats are so well cooked and seasoned, you can't get much better. The white sauce.. Can you ever go wrong? Probably not. The potatoes are so tasty and crispy, a definite must have. A nice break from the heavy meat. Many people get it as a side because it's just that good. I've found myself craving a mixed plate from Boustan. It's 2am where I am right now, and I could 100%, without doubt finish a plate. Why isn't Canada closer to me?

Manuel F.

Yelp
Best chicken shawarma pita ever! Get the slaw and pickled onions on the wrap as well. Very nice flavor combination. Kind staff and quick service. Don't miss out on this gem!
google avatar

Jeremy A.

Yelp
The pitas are fantastic, different than I've had before. It's a thinner bread, a little crispy and super tasty. Service is at the counter, soooo doesn't add much. The atmosphere feels very local. Loved it.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing little spot for Persian/Lebanese food! I tried the chicken and beef plate with rice and hummus. There was also a little helping of garlic butter which was a nice touch. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. Highly recommended!

Yelp
We have been in Montreal 2 days and my kids have eaten here 3 times !!! Excellent Lebanese sandwich shop! One of the best Shawarma sandwiches I've had outside of Lebanon!

Yelp
Amazing food at a great price. If you're in Montreal, stop by for a bite, it won't disappoint!

Yelp
We were wandering for food on a busy Sunday night (about 11pm) when my eyes fell on Boustan. It was one of the places I wanted try on our return trip to MTL this year. We walked into a bustling no frills Mediterranean restaurant with beautiful chicken and lamb shawarma resting on the spit. I ended up with a platter (eyes over stomach) and the BF got a chicken shawarma pita. First weird thing, they charge for tabbouleh on a platter. Then we get to the register and they charged us $1usd to $1cad! The cashier then said you can use a card. The machine looked a little suspicious as it had duck tape on the swipe and said no swipes, chips only. I was fuming but also starving, so I paid $22.15usd for a $22.13 meal. Tips are usually a part of my routine, but after this incident, I think not, after taking "a tip" of almost 40%. As for the food? Outstanding. All the memories of delicious tastes of Lebanon were in the platter. There were a few mysterious extremely crunchy bits and the hummus tasted like it had turned. But other than that, really delicious. I really wanted to leave more stars, but after being taken advantage of this is the best I could do. We will likely come back but with Canadian dollars and a calcultor.
google avatar

Xue L.

Yelp
Even after so many years, this is still my to-go spot for shish taouk or late night food. It's just so good and flavorful. The hummus and garlic sauce are very good, the potatoes are soft and the chicken is not dry. The service is quick and the price is decent for the quantity and deliciousness. The best thing about this place is the opening hours. Even if it's very late, you know Boustan is always there for you.
google avatar

Lysha L.

Yelp
Atmosphere/Service: the place was kind of hard to find as it was downstairs in a small corner so keep your eyes open! It wasn't busy when we first arrived. But at around 8-9, the place started getting packed! it was a small spot with at least 20 seatings or so and 6 tables. Menu/food: we were given lot on a plate. And I was even more surprised when we were given a lot of meat to pair with our carbs! I've been to places where they skim on the meat but I'm glad restaurant boustan gave us a lot that I was full off just the meat itself! Also the meat wasn't too dry or too oily, tender and flavourful! You could either go with the beef or the chicken, or BOTH! Who can say no to both?! Overall: Great fast eat. Don't let the decor turn you away, nor the people serving you as they a little intimidating too. And go on an empty stomach as you're served a lot of meat and carbs :)
google avatar

Mitch J.

Yelp
With so many reviews, I can't say anything that hasn't already been said. All I'll say is this place looks like it would not be good, but it blew away our expectations. Their meat is cooked on a rotisserie and tastes delicious. We liked their chicken even better than the beef, which doesn't happen much! We got the chicken/beef shawarma plate but next time I think we'd just get the chicken because it was so good. Also, the plates are big enough for two to share--a really good value for the price! The guy who takes your order is a little gruff but other than that the service was good. We enjoyed our experience here!
google avatar

Anastasia B.

Yelp
Excellent service and excellent food. Prices are great as well. Recommend if you're looking for a good value meal.
google avatar

Lucerito R.

Yelp
Best Lebanon food I've EVER had. This is restaurant is definitely a lovely little hole in the wall. Don't let it fool you. The food here is unlike anything I've ever tried. If I lived in Montreal, I would probably eat here when I'm having a bad day because they offer "pick me up" grub. My husband and I were visiting for a short period of time and got a recommendation from a friend who lived in the area. My husband still raves about the shawarma. I loved their veggie wrap too! Ah, and their poutine was sooo dang delicious. First time I've tried potatoes with gravy and cheese curds and I'm totally hooked!
google avatar

Jennie D.

Yelp
It's always a hot or miss, depends who makes the order. They either put too much of something or not enough.
google avatar

Susan L.

Yelp
Plate has enough food for 2 people Pita is portioned for 1 person Walk up to counter, order, let them know what dressings or sides you want (hummus, garlic sauce, salad, radish, rice, etc). The garlic sauce is so good! All sides were delicious, and if you get the plate, you also get pita bread to create your perfect bite. Would recommend the chicken over the beef. Beef was tender but a bit dry. If ordering kebabs, make sure to allot 5-10 minute extra wait time. Plenty of seats. Also some outdoor seating but not sure if it is for this restaurant.
google avatar

Mary W.

Yelp
The vegan meat is absolutely delicious. I have no idea what they use, but I loved it. The potatoes were a little dry, but w/e. The star of the show was delicious!
google avatar

Yojna J.

Yelp
This is probably the best Lebanese fast food I've ever had in Canada! So much flavour and delight to my palate it was my first time here and the man who served me was so nice and friendly. He also let me try the garlic potatoes with sauce as well as their egg speciality which were delicious. I also ordered the falafel wrap with spicy sauce with it and it was to die for!!! Love these guys' foods and you definitely get the value of your money. It costs me $6.04 with taxes and of course tips on the side which is different but a sumptuous falafel wrap which feels great to the tummy is to be found only here in Montreal... I would definitely return to try their other plates on the menus as they all looked delicious and flavourful. The place itself is very nice to have a seat and watch some tv while you're enjoying your food. The decor is very simply but different. Overall, I was impressed from coming to eat here for the first time till I left as they are the best and so nice in serving their foods! :)
google avatar

Marie M.

Yelp
The food here deserves an A++ I found a slice of heaven in a Lebanese fast food joint. I ordered the shawarma combo plate--the MOST satisfying item on the menu, in my humble opinion. The perfectly marinated and grilled chicken & beef platter included flavorfully seasoned potatoes, rice, well-made hummus, garlic sauce, pita bread and salad. Huge portions; best to order in a to-go box if you're not sharing it with anyone. You'll definitely have leftovers, unless you have a more than hearty appetite. The shawarma here beats any I've ever had in the past. Excellent food. Quick, friendly service. Seating available inside and outside. Very casual. Inexpensive. My husband, who is crazy about shawarma, will drive 6 hours from Little Rhody to Montreal just to come here. Seriously.

Yelp
Experience the exotic flavors of the Middle-East and Mediterranean in downtown Montreal. Served up with a smile :) Placed was packed and I had the following: Kibeh which is yummy Lebanese Beef Croquette Golden seasoned garlic potatoes served with garlic sauce (I didn't need it) a long with the marinated chicken If you want something satisfying, this is the place.
google avatar

Yelp
The iconic Montreal shawarma chain. I haven't had better shawarma in Canada/US yet. Even the vegan shawarma is good. If in Montreal, just go

Meghna S P.

Yelp
This was our absolute favorite for a late night bite in Montreal. I can't stress enough how amazing their food is. Boustan is located in the heart of downtown close to many fun bars and lounges, so is perfect for one to grab a bite in the evening or a late night snack. Their seating is cafeteria or casual style and the space is located underground - you need to take a few steps to go from road level to the restaurant. Their sauces are delicious and quantity is ample. One could easily share a platter with another. They use a lot of garlic in their sauces which makes it really flavorful and delicious. The shawarmas come with freshly cut meat, coleslaw, potatoes, hummus, garlic sauce and you can add falafels. If in Montreal and you crave Mediterranean food, definitely make a visit here.
google avatar

Amber H.

Yelp
Usually I love it here. I ordered the plate and legit got just potatoes and a pita with no meat no salad no garlic sauce. I don't even know how you can just bring someone a Huge container of potatoes and not even garlic sauce lol.
google avatar

Phi N.

Yelp
Came in for a late night shawarma. This should definitely be on your list of foods to try when in Montreal. My friend liked it so much that she ate herself a second one! (and she's a tiny girl; it's just that good). Their selection of vegetables isn't the best but did the trick.
google avatar

Leyla K.

Yelp
Great casual spot in downtown Montreal! The food is cheap but excellent. My boyfriend got the chicken shawarma and he thought it was the best he's had! I got the falafel platter, which was pretty good. A bit dry but still better than many falafels I've had! They also have a vegetarian platter so there are some veggie options as well. They have both indoor and outdoor seating which is nice.

Yelp
I must have imagined I wrote this 5 star review years ago --- glad I checked and actually wrote it today! It is not uncommon for me (I figure I'm not alone) to crave Boustan at all hours - from lunch to late night snack. With so many reviews I'm sure the garlic sauce, potatoes and 'chicken Shawarma (when sliced off the rotisserie) not actually called Shish Taouk unless it's on the skewer*' from what I've been told and from experience' in wrap or plate format have already been discussed and over examined. I believe the food they serve is exemplary, but this review isn't all about what is more or less common 'foodie' knowledge - it's really a shout out the work ethic of the staff - because those folks work hard and at many times of the day it's non-stop (there can be people in line for long stretches and then they have to be ready for the next wave). With no doubt doing this day in and day out while keeping a pleasant demeanor is commendable and not an easy feat. To that point I give many thanks, and say good job in keeping your original location going strong after all these years; plus many locals and tourists fed well. Note: I have not had a bad item on their menu and hope to try everything they offer. I'm getting there - been trying the veggie items lately and they are also tops. I'll admit it took me years to even know about and then try the Creation sandwich. It's a little rich for me, but those that like it, do seem to like it a lot; and I won't stand in their way. *If I made an error explaining the difference in styles, write me a note.

Yelp
It's 3:30am and after karaoke-ing, Lebanese food sounded like a perfect way to end the night. Boustan's is a teeny eatery situated downstairs from a nightclub, a spot where all the drunkies go to post partying. Oh but boustan's isn't just good for post-drunk meal, (i.e. dennys lol), their food is absolutely delicious. The staff looks like they've been there for too long, but hey they're doing something right with their food. Tried their potatoes had this yummy creamy garlic sauce atop. Also tried their chicken shwarma pita. The pita was toasted warm, crunchy on the outside, and soft inside. Their mix of veggies they throw in there definitely adds more life to that pita. One thing I didn't fancy was that they went overboard with their garlic mayo sauce. Wayyy too much of that in there, but you'd hate to ask for an amended version because the main guy here reminds you of the soup nazi. Like, this ain't BK, it would almost be rude to have it your way. Nonetheless, all the food was good, and cheap. Better than many of the LA spots that serve similar food, but certainly still not the best. Solid 4 stars here.

Yelp
Late night cravings hit? Do yourself a favour and come here. Got this tip from one of the bartenders who said most late night staff in the area hit this place up. Had the pita wrap (one chicken and one mixed). Even late at night the meat was tender (not rock hard leftover late night meat you tend to get). The tang of the pickled veggies and the sauce counterbalance the meat. It gets busy at night but you can just pick up your food and go. There are tvs here if you want to eat/rest after a late night of partying (for me late nights are like 11pm...LOL)

Yelp
I am not from Montreal and dropped by Boustan for a quick lunch -got the Beef and Chicken Shawarma combo for $10.45 CAD -good value -food is fresh and good but nothing special in my opinion. The key advantage they have is its price and freshness (given the high volumes) -if you are in the area and want a cheap good lunch, go to Boustan. However, I would not specifically travel here for a meal

Yelp
I grabbed a quick lunch at Bouston yesterday, right before heading to the airport. It was my last meal in Montreal and it did not disappoint. It's conveniently located on Crescent Street within stumbling distance from the bars and also within walking distance from our Sheraton hotel. I ordered the combination plate for $10.45 which consisted of generous portions of beef & chicken shawarma, garlic potatoes, rice, coleslaw and hummus. The plate definitely hit the spot. The garlic potatoes are pretty addictive. I did see the employees reheat the beef shawarma in the microwave, but i'm not mad at them. I understand the difficulty and need to keep up with production. The meat was still tasty. Overall, a very good Middle Eastern / shawarma option in the area.
