Ca n'Alfredo

"A popular family - run restaurant in a good central location with walls decorated with unusual photos of famous guests. Large portions of traditional cuisine, enlivened by some Ibizan and Catalan dishes." - Michelin Inspector

Google
Best restaurant in Ibiza in terms of quality and traditional non tourist trap food - wonderful hard working staff - can’t wait to go back

This has to be the best place we have eaten in Ibiza. We wanted Paella and it has to be the best I have had. The croquettes were also amazing. This place is a must when in Ibiza.

They have a Michelin recommendation, and that is really deserved! The Bakaljouw and the Octopus 🐙 are amazing! The co-workers are fantastic. Best place to go!

Very disappointing experience. They didn’t have the table we had reserved. Managed to squeeze us in (quite some tables were available). Service was very slow. The lamb chops were the worst I’ve had. Tiny amounts of meat, overcooked, poor presentation on the plate. Came with chips and mushrooms. That’s it. Wanted to overcharge us for bread that hadn’t arrived. Sparkling mineral water is extremely salty. Gave 2 instead of 1 star as my friends sort of liked the paella. The restaurant is displaying some “Michelin 2020” plaque (no star), which I find very hard to believe.

It was such a huge dissappointment for me. Waiter didn’t care our request to br seated twice. We had to find someone inside to be seated. Paella was way undercooked but no one had enough english to understand my explanations and questions regarding it. Normally you get crispiness from the bottom of the pan but ours because of undercooked rice.

This is a restaurant mentioned in the Michelin guide, however, the service was just not there: on a cool October night, we asked whether we can sit indoors because a small kid was feeling cold. The indoor tables were all prepared even with glasses on the table. The waiter said, you can only sit outside since all the indoor seats were not cleaned and he did not want to do it. At that time, this was the only restaurant on the street with zero guests and their neighbors did have indoor seatings ready. We could only leave then, waiter replied: fine. No wonder after our 2h dinner elsewhere and other restaurants were almost packed, this one was still having zero guests.

Really unfriendly waitress!!! Google says it‘s open all day, she told me at 19:28 that they only open the kitchen at 19:40 and right now she cannot do anything for me. She could have served me already 12 minutes before they open the kitchen but no. Really unfriendly.

One of the best in Ibiza. Traditional food. Arroces is a must and the dessert ummm. A must restaurant to visit.

Yelp
Nice location for a leisurely lunch. Both indoor and outdoor seating and if the weather is good, outdoor is definitely a great option. Unfortunately service was very, very slow and somewhat unprofessional. Thirty minutes after being seated, the server had still not taken our order. When bread with olives and aioli were dropped off, one of the servers dropped it on the table and promptly turned around and walked quickly away despite my calling after him to inquire about gluten-free options (which they have). One of the tables behind me, which was seated 10 minutes after I arrived, placed their order before we did. The table next to us, seated 20 minute after we were seated, ordered at the same time as us. Ten minutes later they also received their food first, while our food arrived fifteen minutes after that. Very very poor reflection on the staff. We would have gotten starters (croquettes), but by the time they took the order, the mood was bad and full of disappointment at the long wait. The goal now was just to finish fast and move on with the day. Opted for the fisherman's stew. Asked the server between two dishes, which would be most unique to Ca n'Alfredo, and would be difficult to find elsewhere. Very surprised to hear server advise the fisherman's stew. When it arrived it looked (and tasted) like any large number of similar dishes all across the island. While Ca n'Alfredo may have some recognition for their food, the poor service just torpedoed the experience. Especially in mid-May, before high season and busy crowds in July and August, the service should have been much much better and at. Unfortunately, it was not. Compound this with the fairly typical seafood rice dish available at many other restaurants, Ca n'Alfredo is an easy pass if other options are available (Edit: to add insult to injury they tried to sneak in some alcoholic beverages into the check that we didn't order. Ha pretty bad look on top of everything else that went wrong).

Yelp
Farmer's Paella for two. Costs around €25 each, very filling and has that homemade feel to it. Good vibe here.

Yelp
Ca n'Alfredo is a family-run establishment that serves traditional Ibizan cuisine made from locally sourced ingredients. The interior is quaint and well-decorated, with both indoor and outdoor seating options. For starters, we ordered a mixed platter with fried squid, shrimp, and fish croquettes, which was all pretty good especially with a squirt of lemon. For our first main course we ordered a positively gigantic platter of Black Rice, essentially rice simmered in broth, squid ink, garlic, and spices with chunks of seafood tossed in. It was definitely the best part of our meal and comfortably fed six of us, but I had better when I visited Barcelona. We also ordered a large bowl of Guisat de Peix, a fish-and-potato stew typical of the region. I found the bright yellow broth quite bland and there wasn't very much fish (although this could be more related to the number of people sharing it). While we did have wine with our dinner, the meal ended up more pricey -- $50 a pop -- than I expected.

Yelp
This place open since 1934 is doing a lot of things right. Traditional Ibizan food we loved our meal from Andalusian gazpacho to special house salad to vegetable soup with bread slices to fried gags with baked layers of vegetables and sausage all was very good. This is why I like to travel.
