Caillebotte

"Chef Franck Baranger crafts fresh, thoroughly modern dishes, the secret of which only he holds: lightly seared squid, redcurrants, courgette and gremolata; line-caught fish, marinated cucumber, polenta, béarnaise sauce and fig pickles… A casual, friendly vibe provides the perfect foil to distinctive, appetising and colourful food." - Michelin Inspector

Google
Michelin Guide restaurant offering an excellent-value tasting menu. For €55, you get 2 starters, 2 mains, and 1 dessert per person—a great deal for Paris. The starters and dessert stood out, while the mains were solid but slightly less memorable. The service was friendly and efficient—they kept the bread coming non-stop 😄 Highly recommended for those seeking quality food without breaking the bank.

After thoroughly looking through Paris' Bib Gourmand section, this place stood out, had reservations available and was walkable from our hotel. We did the tasting menu where we get two appetizers, two mains and a dessert from the chef's choice. Each dish was a masterpiece and tasted perfect. After each one, we were left wanting more and the main dish, rhe lamb was cooked so well and barely had any gamey flavor to it. The food, ambiance and service was all we could ever ask for. The three cheeses were too tier and my SO ordered a few wines that all went well with the dishes. Definitely come out to this place. It is a major bang for your buck restaurant and there is so much to try here since their menus are constantly changing!

Loved the mackerel starter. Slow cooked lamb shoulder super soft after 12 hours and worked very well with chicory. Pear dessert finished well with glass of rum. Excellent service. Very good choice of wine by glass.

Really excellent food and service. Menu was interesting but not wild, really beautiful food, creative and delicious. Wonderful service. Fun and not-too-fancy atmosphere. One of our best meals.

Google
The “Gourmand” designation is not misleading or exaggerated in any way. And neither is the “Bistro” designation. The dishes were beautiful and delicious and they arrived quickly. Compared to a formal restaurant with 1 Michelin star for example, we felt that this bistro did not spare any expense on key ingredients such as the fish and beef or on selecting the freshest salad leafs. The dishes had their own signature (omg the bell pepper stuffed with aubergine!), worked great in both texture and taste and were enhanced rather than dominated by a couple of sauces, unlike the case in so many formal Michelin restaurants. We were served by a very efficient and attentive server with a smile (the monsieur with curly hair). His level of personalization made us feel much more welcome and simply more at ease than an uniformed army of waiters who you have to chase down for a bottle of wine before your food gets cold. Here, the wine was the second thing on the table after water. The total came to just under a century for two entrees, two main courses and one glass of wine. But the best bonus was being done within an hour - the first course arrived almost immediately. This saved us time to explore more of Paris, which is the most important reason for this trip. By the way, the street is especially romantic on a rainy night. Thanks Caillebotte for making our evening delicious!

Google
Warm, welcoming atmosphere. Kind, attentive staff. Food quality and composition of courses were without equal and portion sizes were perfect. Tremendous experience overall, would recommend.

The essence of French cuisine is creativity, not universality, and in that respect, this restaurant serves excellent French cuisine. Especially the artichoke fries are impressive. The quantity is small, but the price is also reasonable, and the outdoor alley scenery is beautiful. A perfect place to enjoy fine dining with white wine on a hot summer day.

Yelp
Excellent service. Presentation of food very nice. Blending of flavors great. Subtle approach to French food. Always enjoy the Caillebotte experience when were in Paris.

Yelp
What a find. We visited Caillebotte based on a trusted recommendation, and our conclusion is that this is a restaurant worth going out of your way for. An upscale casual restaurant, Caillebotte serves food suitable for a special occasion meal but without the pretention or prices. Reservations strongly advised, because the place is very small and popular. The menu is also small, with a 3 course dinner priced at 35 Euro. I recommend going for the 3 courses highly, because as good as the main courses were, the starters and desserts were real standouts, and nothing was too rich. This chef is ambitious, with every plate aspiring to be a feast for the eyes as well as the palate. A highlight among the entrees was a veal tartare that melts in your mouth, the sweetness of the veal balanced by pickled onions and puréed vegetables. A main course of Hake was possibly the most perfectly cooked piece of fish I've eaten in years, and was complemented perfectly by a bed of herbed potatoes and clams in a light, briny sauce. For meat lovers, the 6 main course options included a T-Bone for two that evoked gasps from a nearby table, and the boneless pork chop is brined and served at the perfect pink temperature a melange of leeks and onions in pan juices. Don't skip dessert. Chocolate mousse with praline is a heavenly balance of bitter and sweet sure to disappear in an instant. A concoction of candied orange, cookies and glacé was original and memorable. But the strawberries with biscuits was the winner in a photo finish. Divine. This is not a tourist restaurant, though its sure to be discovered. Servers were extremely friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

Yelp
There was only French menu, but the waiter could explain the menu in English. Monkfish was good, but duck had a lot of tissues and my fingers literally got numb. I wish I would order different main dish. Starter - Main course - Dessert- 38 Entrée Monkfish Plat Duck breast of Challans, vegetables, lettuce juice, garlic condiment black leek snack, rutabaga butter, emulsion chlorophyll risotto spear and mushrooms with buds beet and dill, shallot confit, Dessert Creamy lemon, semolina cake, lemon thyme ice cream Rhubarb confit, vanilla / lemon mascarpone,

Yelp
Oh boy, Caillebotte is my first major coup de coeur of 2014! Not only is this new restaurant named after one of my favorite French painters, but there's so much soul and love in this place that you realize how much is typically lacking throughout Paris' gastro scene. Owned by the trio as Le Pantruche, Caillebotte serves up similar seasonal, colorful, surprising dishes as its brother up the SoPi hill. The space however is a bit more "brut" with open kitchen, exposed walls and sparse decor. An excellent contrast to the beau and delicious plates that the super friendly chef (who came over to make sure that everything was to our liking after the meal and stuck around to chat for a while) has clearly taken the time and passion to perfect. The only slight critique: the service, while super friendly was a little inconsistent. After waiting for a while to order, we were a bit rushed to finish our plates, but then it took forever to get the check. Will definitely be back, especially for the great 19E lunch menu!

Yelp
Fantastic! We had the 5 course tasting menu for 49€. Champagne and beer to start, then a delicious white burgundy, plus a nice Cotes du Rhône, then ended w champagne. Delicious! Started w several amuse bouches, real menu began w squid app, then a beef bourgingnon app, then pollack then pork shoulder, then dessert cheeses.

Yelp
Second time here. All the food was excellent and reasonably priced for the wuality, as was the wine. Only complaint was that we felt rushed.

Yelp
Favorite restaurant of my trip this year. Excellent value for the lunch menu. Great decor, nice service. Great wine by the glass and complimentary bread. My veal tartar app with a little bit of pea puree was excellent. The hanger steak with chickpea puree was very nice and copious. My dessert was simple but effective: fresh strawberries with crumbs of shortbread and a vanilla ice cream. Everything worked. We've tried to go back for lunch or dinner but failed because they are packed all the time. You really have to book several days in advance to stand a chance.

Yelp
Had lunch there sitting on bar chair can watch the cook cooking in front of you which is a nice experience. Good service and nice dessert!

Yelp
Go for lunch for an inexpensive menu. Delicious food, unpretentious and accommodating service, and quality ingredients. They are still in love with foam, but don't hold it against them. Everything is cooked to perfection.

Yelp
SUPERB! Everything we ordered was fantastic. My magret de canard (duck breast) was maybe the best meal I've ever had. The duck was ever-so-lightly-smoked in addition to being pan seared. My companion agreed---best duck ever. My friend had the pork roast, which was also good. The waiter was terrific and even visited with us a bit. He weathered our comical French and was really pleasant. I will go back here every time I go to Paris. Found this restaurant on Yelp on a visit to Paris. I think it was originally recommended by David Lebovits, an American who now lives in Paris who has some books and a blog.

Yelp
Read about this place in the Figaro Magazine in Japan and just had to try it. Reasonable prices (Euro 35/person for a three course meal) and the staff was great. Although I don't speak French, the waitress patiently described everything on the menu. Loved the food and if I lived nearby, would certainly become a regular.

Yelp
Fine. It was fine. In a city full of amazing food, you can do far better. Lacking salt and acid, the food fell flat. One of the dishes had a sauce that was marginally acrid and the dessert was memorable only for the astringent quality. Woefully understaffed. Go to be seen, not to be fed.

Yelp
If I could give a 0 star review, I would. If you value your money and taste buds, don't come here. The host argued with us for 15 minutes about the reservation, even when there were 3 empty tables. The first course was a soup with an extremely bitter taste. The service is quite pour, with 2 waiters serving the entire restaurant. Except about 20-30 min wait before the first course. The fish was over cooked, and the meat was tough. Wouldn't come here again, and I recommend you don't either.

Yelp
Great restaurant and the kind of place I'd actually want to revisit(since I usually so for something new)! The menu is really fresh with a twist of creativity and a great dining value at 35 euros for entree plat dessert. The entrees were good but the plats and desserts stole the show. I really loved the spiced gnocchi (they were even nice enough to give us the recipe!) and the chicken was perfectly cooked. They accidentally messed up our dessert order so we were lucky enough to have double! The banana and chocolate ganache were delicious but the lemon was my fav! The open kitchen is really fun and we enjoyed sitting at the bar so we could watch and interact with the cooking staff. They were so nice so the overall experience deserves 5 stars.

Yelp
The restaurant was empty when we arrived, since we were early, but the place quickly filled up. Booking is advisable. Caillebotte is a "restaurant de quartier" with fresh, modern food. The 37€ menu was well worth the money. The dishes were all fresh, with mild and pleasant flavours. There were no big, bold flavours, but a subtle freshness - like a warm summer breeze. This was on a warm evening in September, which made the menu perfect. Perhaps the autumn menu contains more robust flavours. We will return to Caillebotte.

Yelp
Great casual bistro that's really well priced. Had a delicious three course meal with starter, main, and dessert for 35 Euros. Everything was prepared well and the casual atmosphere was perfect for our party of four. I highly recommend this restaurant for foodies looking for value in a neighborhood bistro in Paris. Good to have reservations and yet another bistro closed in August and not open on the weekends. From the seafood risotto to the slow cooked pork and the beef offered that night, everyone was pleased with their dishes.

Yelp
As an American who lives in France, I've adjusted quickly my interpretation of "good service" - even for France I have to say that I've experienced the worst service ever at Caillebotte, twice now. The food over all is good - tasteful and fresh. However, the lack of service doesn't make up for the taste of the food. After we finished our appetizers (which we received quickly) we didn't see our server for over 20 mins... no water, no wine, zip, zero, nothing. I had to stare him down to ask for water and another glass of wine prior to our entrée arriving. To my surprise, he looked shock to as why I was even staring at him at all (um hello, you've haven't checked on us in over 20 mins). Note, when our server was clearing our entrée plates, I asked him for an espresso with my dessert. Our dessert came out (delivered by a food runner or other server), which our server clearly forgot about given the ice cream was basically 1/2 melted and still no sign of our server or my espresso. We finished our dessert and my espresso still hadn't arrived. We waited 5 or so minutes for my espresso and then got up to go inside to pay the bill and of course, our server was coming out will my espresso. Trying to be polite on my end, I followed him to the table to drink my espresso, even though at that point I just wanted to pay and leave. We honestly had a similar experience the last time we ate here but thought we'd give it a second chance since it was in our neighborhood. We will most definitely never be returning to Caillebotte, ever.

Yelp
BEST MEAL WE HAD IN PARIS! Our last night in the city we stumbled into this boutique restaurant, and we are so glad we did. This is a gem in the 9th arrondissement. Little did we know, it is recommended that you make a reservation. They were able to get us two seats at the bar, which turned out to be the best seats in the house! From the bar we watched as the chefs worked from the open kitchen in perfect unison to create a phenomenal 5 course tasting menu. It is my understanding that the menu changes seasonally, but you cannot go wrong with the tasting menu. The flavor combinations are creative and delicious, and to top it off, it was one of the most affordable meals we had all week. My colleague requested that the chefs come out to the so she could personally thank them for the amazing job that they did. Both the chefs and the waiters were extremely kind and fun to talk to, which made the experience even more pleasant. This is a place I will return to every time I am in Paris, and a place you must put on your must visit list while in Paris!

Yelp
One of our favorite meals in France. It was abit outside of the normal areas, more neighborhood feel, but the services was excellent, every dish delicious (especially loved the ravioli), and the wine as always was excellent.
