"Caillou is a hip, modern bistro, strewn with passing nods to ‘pebbles’ (its namesake). The kitchen team prepares the food on a central table that sets the scene for their culinary show. The performance continues in the plate, with an appetising blend of flavours and textures and enticing veggie dishes. The chef doesn’t hesitate to spice up traditional recipes, flanking lobster and turbot, for example, with deftly crafted side dishes such as asparagus flan, a gutsy lobster béarnaise and a poivrade of fried artichokes. The sommelier may suggest an elegant mineral wine, echoing the establishment’s name, to pair with your food." - Michelin Inspector
Excellent, well impressed with all the flavours, taste and presentation coming together perfectly. Especially one of the menu's was vegetarian, difficult in Europe to really hit the spot, they did!! Not alot of choice, and I think a monthly change of set Menu, but what they serve is all good!

I heard so many great things about this place so expectations were high... So disappointing, unfortunately. First and last time. Didn't get my wine, my fish was not fresh and I had many fish bones in my tiny pieces of fish and the service was not always with a friendly face. Too bad but this is my honest experience

Worth a (Michelin) star. Already has the Gault Millau points to back it up (15/20). Make sure to get a coffee afer, it comes with a second (and third) serving of sweets! Highly recommended for price/value in the category of 'serious restaurant'.

The food is good quality and tasty but the portions are shockingly small. The service is aloof, bordering on arrogant. As for the atmosphere, it was certainly dreadful the day we were there, with screaming kids throwing over chairs, which in that sort of establishment really is not acceptable.
For that money you can get better service and a nicer atmosphere in other places in and around Knokke.

Been there 6 times now so time for a review.
It's simple really, either you like quality, ingenuity and bang for your buck or you don't. This guy knows how to be genuine and yet embrace the old school cooking that has been proven for decades. Prepare your taste pallet for a feast. Take it from a former chef/sommelier turned chocolatier. That has traveled the culinary world for more then 20 years now. Ps leave the bad comments for those reviewers that can't even boil an egg..

Very pretty and tasty food but very long waits between services.
