10 Casse-Croûtes Worth a Drive from Montreal | Eater Montreal

"Greek-style pizza that features thick, chewy crust and lots of cheese takes center stage at this Val-Morin mainstay, but the menu is pretty extensive for a casse-croûte featuring overflowing subs, souvlaki, pastas, as well as the classics like burgers, hot dogs, and poutine. The real shocker on the menu, though, is the grilled chicken salad, which is truly not to be missed." - Erinn Blicher

The Best Restaurants in the Laurentian Mountains, Quebec | Eater Montreal

"This pizza place has been around since the sixties, dishing out (and boxing up) pizza of the thicker, cheese-heavy variety and subs for the local crowd. Do not expect anything fancy, but do expect to leave very full." - Ashley Joseph

Beautiful and friendly restaurant on the way to Val-David-Val Morine. Pizza was very tasty and despise the other pizza that have lots of cheese, it had proper amount of cheese. I loved it

Historic place from the early 1960's! Food is close to what It was in those days. But thanks to the cost of food prices, pizzas no longer have the fantastic amounts of cheese on them, that they built their reputation on. But to be fair it's still a very good pizza. Every other item on the menu is true to what I remember.

My mom and I really love this pizza place! We tell them every single time we go it’s our favourite pizza! The staff are all awesome, super friendly and the pizza is top-notch! What started out as my mom saying “Would you like to try a pizza place I used to go to as a little girl?” has quickly turned into my favourite spot! Much love to everybody at Cal’s!

Good pizza and homemade authentic feel to the place. I didn't personally like the poutine (we shared a smoked meat). I found it pretty pricey but really big and tasty pizza. The lady was very friendly and helpful. They have a nice selection of different craft sodas which was great.

You can't go up north without stopping at Cal's pizza!! Best greek-style pizza with quality ingredients and generous toppings. My favorite part of the trip everytime :)

Real fast food. If you are sick of pizza from the big chain restaurants, you have to try Cal's. Reminds me of the good pizzas from my childhood. My only complaint is they don't accept cards(only cash).

Yelp
I went to a pizza place to have poutine. Stop #1 of 8 on the Wall Street Journal tour. So as great as the poutine was, I don't know if all of these stars extend beyond the one tiny part of what makes Cal's Pizza. The fries were thick cut, rather than the usual frenched style, but that actually lent itself better to the dish. The curds squeaked very nice. The sauce was completely delectable. My friend and I split a sausage poutine, plenty of sausages to go around. A medium plate would be good for one hungry person's meal, or two people's appetizer (which is what we were looking for). I would return just for this if I ever found myself in the Laurentians and hungry.

Yelp
Great local spot. Been around for years. Thick cheesy pizza, big potato fries, souvlaki, brochettes, etc...bring pants with expandable waist.
