Slate Wine Bar + Bistro Reopens With New Menu of Spanish Small Plates in Glover Park | Eater DC
"As part of the same remodeling project, the top floor was converted into a separate restaurant intended as a special-occasion destination for wood-grilled paella, rotisserie suckling pig, Valencian flatbreads, and other coastal Mediterranean plates; Xiquet opens Tuesday, March 3, and will feature two tasting menus (five courses for $90 or eight for $130) as well as an à la carte menu with Lledó’s paellas priced $35 to $50." - Gabe Hiatt
We came 4 Persons for lunch.
It was possible to order for all either "Menu del Dia" or something from Menu for hole table. Not possible to do it separately 🤯
At the end we took first option.
Dishes were ok, but nothing special.
But dessert with 5 thin and not ripe ananas' slices "killed me". Seriously?!
Price for all of this is high and not includ drinks and bread.
Atmosphere is nice, but maybe too much pathos for me...

The oven baked Turbot on a bed of sautéed potatoes in Merlot was exquisite

We went there for lunch on Sunday with good friends
Could not find fault with it , food wine and service excellent. Sandra was a great server and help , as we have little Spanish/Catalan
Thank you for the wonderful experience

Overall the food was very good but the price for somethings is very expensive, for example a very small Filet a la brasa 19,15 euros
and peix de costa llenguado 850gr. 67,30 euros, apart from these two items it was very reasonable

Never again. Bland food. Expensive good wine. Extreme bad service if you are not Spanish. Ich kann das auch in Deutsch sagen.
