"After helming some prestigious kitchens in Singapore, Japanese chef Kawano came up with a 10-course dinner menu that allows diners to appreciate his culinary vision to the fullest. French and Japanese produce is juxtaposed to great effect and finessed by solid French techniques. Dishes are pleasing to the eye as well as the palate. Painstakingly tweaking the consistency of his duck consommé daily, he shows his attention to detail is second to none." - Michelin Inspector

The MICHELIN Guide Singapore 2024 Full Selection: Inspectors' Favourite Dishes

"Known for its signature dish, this restaurant serves a remarkably flavourful duck consommé with homemade wholegrain noodles. The broth is made by meticulously extracting the essence from duck bones, and the noodles have a perfect al dente texture. Fragrant perilla leaves garnish the dish, adding a refreshing aroma." - The MICHELIN Guide

Chaleur beautifully blends French finesse with Japanese precision. Chef Masahiko Kawano crafts each dish with balance, seasonality, and soul. The standout is the duck consommé, simmered for eight hours into pure depth and elegance. Every course feels thoughtful and refined. Service is attentive without being intrusive, and the intimate counter setting lets you enjoy the artistry up close. Only small note: the placemats could use a refresh. Otherwise, exceptional experience.

Came here for my birthday and had such a wonderful experience. The food was spot on but what stood out most was the service. The team was warm, attentive, and made the evening feel really special. Definitely a place I’d recommend for any celebration.

Nestled along a row of charming shophouses lies Chaleur, started by chef Masa who hails from the now defunct Beni at mandarin gallery. The place got their Michelin star 9 months into its operations which is pretty cool. Chef masa’s faire is heavily French inspired, however utilising Japanese ingredients. The use of fish is apparent which is very Japanese, but cooked in a very French manner, for example, the flounder which was seared to perfection. One of the starters which was a medley of raw fish and eggplant came in a edamame sauce. Light and delightful. The duck consommé was my favourite. Think duck Bak Kut teh soup. Prices are reasonable and if you’re feeling a little more peckish than usual, supplement your meal with lobster and abalone with a slight top up. What’s also great is their wine and champagne selection. Super extensive so you don’t run out of choices.

Exceptional experience at Restaurant Chaleur. Chef Masa’s food is delicate and fragrant yet rich in taste and texture. Wonderful and original combinations of flavours. Great wine list. Great service from Ms Rainbow. Also the most amazing bread!

Visited in March 2025 for lunch. We were the only party at the restaurant so it was an extremely intimate and cosy affair. Service was good and food was excellent! The fattiness of the kanpachi paired with the zesty mikan was super refreshing. The guinea fowl was also cooked to perfection. Their menu and price is definitely a good starting point for those who want to try a Michelin restaurant for the first time!

Dining at Chaleur was nothing short of extraordinary. The Blue Lobster supplement was a true indulgence—succulent, delicate, and expertly prepared to bring out its natural sweetness. The Wagyu Tenderloin was impeccably executed, with deep, smoky notes from the charcoal and bone marrow elevating its richness. And the Chef’s Signature duck consommé with wholegrain noodle was a masterpiece—comforting yet sophisticated, with layers of umami that lingered beautifully. Beyond the impeccable dishes, Chaleur also strikes the perfect balance with its portions, ensuring a satisfying experience without excess. Their homemade bread, served in small, thoughtful quantities, is a refreshing change from the typical overabundance elsewhere—where baskets overflow, only to lead to unnecessary waste. Here, every element is curated with intention, enhancing the meal without overwhelming it. From the ambiance to the precision in every dish, Chaleur delivers a Michelin-starred experience that is both refined and deeply satisfying. Highly recommended for those seeking an unforgettable culinary journey! Thank you Chef!

Chaleur isn’t just a restaurant—it’s an experience. For those who appreciate fine cuisine, exceptional champagne, and a setting that whispers luxury without ever shouting, this Michelin-starred destination is a must. The meal started strong with piping warm bread paired with silky butter—a small but powerful testament to the precision and care you’d expect from a top-tier French kitchen. Every dish was a delight—expertly prepared with a beautiful mix of Japanese and French techniques that made each course mouthwatering. The setting is refined yet cozy, tucked away on the second floor of a charming shophouse near Neil Road. One of the highlights was their stunning glass wine cellar, showcasing an impressive selection of wines and champagnes. Chaleur partners with Dom Pérignon, so you’ll find some of their finest (and rarest) bottles on the list—including special editions like the Lady Gaga one we had at a spectacular LVMH-hosted event. The intimate space makes it ideal for both elegant social gatherings and relaxed business conversations. A real gem for anyone who loves great food, great bubbles, and a touch of understated luxury.
