Lovely evening with a great culinary experience that surprised with interpretations of the modern French cuisine at every course. The team is very well trained, friendly, forthcoming without hovering around. It's the little things like your glass being refilled before you notice it's close to empty, without disturbing any ongoing discussions. Our waiter made excellent menu recommendations that did not disappoint. Next time we'll come by taxi so we can also enjoy the wine menu. Menu pricing is on par with comparable establishments and worth it. Thank you for the great evening!

Dining at Clairefontaine offers a classic, upscale atmosphere with service that is truly commendable. The staff were warm, attentive, and professional throughout the evening, and the wine list is extensive and curated with obvious care—definitely a highlight for any oenophile. However, the culinary experience itself was a mix of highs and lows. The menu is concise, and while the portions were sufficient, the execution faltered on balance. The main courses—specifically the fish and the slow-cooked rabbit (prepared for over three hours)—were technically excellent, showcasing deep flavors and tender textures. Unfortunately, the heavy-handed use of sauces detracted from the experience. Whether it is a matter of personal preference or execution, the sauces felt burdensome and overpowering rather than complementary. This was most disappointing with the Langoustine appetizer, where the complexity of the sauces muddled the delicate sweetness of the seafood instead of elevating it. While the mains were strong, the lack of harmony in the flavor profiles left me wishing for a lighter, more refined touch.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is a harmony of taste, beauty, and comfort. My heartfelt thanks to the staff for their professionalism, care, and attention to detail, which made this evening truly special. The birthday compliment from the restaurant was a delightful surprise and added even more warmth to the occasion. Clairefontaine is a place I would love to return to again and again. It's hard to find good restaurants open on Mondays, but this is one of the few. Their seasonal menu always offers plenty of options. They even serve my favorite sparkling water - I believe they're the only restaurant in Luxembourg that carries this particular brand. Their wine-by-the-glass selection is particularly impressive, with excellent choices of white, red, and even dessert wines. If you're dining alone and don't want to commit to a full bottle, this is the perfect spot. After all, very few restaurants offer premium wines by the glass at this quality level.

A unique experience, because this is Restaurant Clairefontaine. I took my mother and my brother to visit Luxembourg, what better place to have lunch and give them an unforgettable experience? Five stars, absolutely deserved. if I could give more, I would. Excellent value for money, impeccable service, and honestly surprising, I didn’t expect such a high level of attention. The waiters and waitress are extremely well trained and never lose sight of a single detail, both in their language and in their service. “Small things matter”: I remember that two guests in the dining room dropped their napkin, and a waiter, on tiptoe and without being noticed, elegantly and delicately replaced the one that fell on the floor with a clean one. I’ve worked in the restaurant industry, and this along with their composure really impressed me. Do I really need to review the dishes? Let’s not joke. If you think you can look at the menu and fully understand it, you’re wrong. It was far beyond my expectations, and you leave the restaurant with a smile, because that’s exactly what they give you once you walk out the door. Congratulations to everyone, both in the kitchen (you’re crazy, in the best way) and in the dining room. Five stars for the food, five for the service, five for the price, five for the location, five for cleanliness, and five for friendliness and warmth. I truly hope to return very soon. Le Clairefontaine is a true gastronomic institution in the heart of Luxembourg’s upper town. From the moment you arrive — passing the lovely terrace — the experience feels refined and inviting. The cuisine is elegant, precise, and deeply satisfying, offering a beautiful sensory journey from start to finish. Service is attentive without being formal, and the bright, peaceful dining rooms add to the sense of occasion. A Michelin-level experience that food lovers will truly appreciate.

If you pay a restaurant a visit on a Monday evening and it is full of customers, that stands for quality. Here it is excellence in service, wine and food, the latter for the eye and for the belly. We had a perfect - starry - experience and it is shameful that this outstanding gourmet temple was downgraded by the red guide. It is still an amazing and innovative kitchen.
