"De Kromme Dissel represents a piece of Dutch culinary tradition and has had a Michelin star since 1971. Located in a 17C Saxon farmhouse, the restaurant's rich history can immediately be felt in the ambience and the rustic-style interior is extremely cosy and charming. The attentive waitstaff are always on hand and also provide expert wine recommendations.Experienced chef Tonny Berentsen does not rest on his laurels. Our third visit and we are so looking forward to our 4th. 10 of us celebrating my brother and sister in law’s 12th anniversary of their marriage at De Kromme Dissel were taken on a 6 course, wine-paired journey which, impressively, managed to match the sheer vigour and pace of our vibrant table of friends and family. Conversations paused for meaningful descriptions of each amuse-bouche, dish and wine by our hosts. The service really works smoothly and well: a very relaxed team. One Star (Michelin) brings deserved confidence for staff and patrons! Descriptions of each course by me here would be virtually irrelevant because they were all (as in ALL) terrific and by the time you the reader dine here the seasonally designed menu will have innovated onwards. Conceptually fresh and thoroughly innovative. Flavours delving into realms less travelled yet always weirdly familiar because they’re all…delicious! Wines had the qualities my wife and I cherish: light enough not to smother the palette yet full of the complexity of the terroir. Like good Rock n’Roll - not overproduced! Brilliant choices for pairing. I didn’t photograph a lot but everyone else did. We all loved it because the love of the food simply enhanced the love round the table. Thankyou chefs and team at De Kromme Dissel. Always a joy.

First time I’ve ever left a Michelin-starred restaurant still feeling hungry. The value for money was very disappointing: while the plates were nicely presented, the portions (only 6) were far too small and the flavors and ingredients much too simple for this level of cuisine, far from what you’d expect from starred gastronomy. Another very regrettable point: no mignardises were offered at the end of the meal, even though a hair was found in one of my dishes. I finished the plate out of discretion, but it left me feeling very uncomfortable. On top of that, the evening was spoiled by the presence of numerous small insects (midge-like) that kept falling onto the table, plates, and glasses. The staff was friendly and helpful, and none of these issues were their fault. I honestly wonder how this restaurant managed to get a Michelin star. This was one of my worst culinary experiences, even though I’ve always enjoyed Michelin-starred restaurants, no matter the country.

My wife surprised me with this one. Amazing, one of the best meals we have every eaten. Worth every penny for special occasions. Lots of sweetness at the end.

Booked here with a friend for a 5 course dinner which we up graded to 7. No regrets. Top service with excellent cuisine, which was served like a plate of art work.The staff were friendly, professional, in fact great. Being myself totally ignorant in wine, I got the best advice on what wine that past best with a particular course. Was a great evening. Thanks!

Went here yesterday with my girlfriend as a birthday present. I was amazed with the thought that went into each dish, the wine and the service. It all was very good and classy, while not being too formal. The staff was not only very well mannered, also nice to be around with. Regarding the food, it was the best I have ever had.

I stumbled upon this restaurant on the way to a meeting with some colleagues. It was really unexpected but absolutely amazing. The food is very modern with nice decor and ambiance. Each course and even the first few tastes were obviously expert prepared and very interesting and delicious. Bits of molecular gastronomy mixed in with high end cuisine. It certainly isn't what we started looking for, but an absolute treat. The chef's menu can be presented by how many courses you want or you can order from the menu as well.
