Restaurant Barra Alta Barcelona

I had a delightful dining experience at this restaurant. For starters and “to continue,” we chose some all-time favorites, while for the main courses, we went for Chef César Guillén’s seasonal dishes. The flavors were nice, some dishes like the mackerel showing a truly brilliant combination of tastes. You can certainly tell high quality of their ingredients from the dishes. However, the service didn’t quite match the high standards of the food, though it wasn’t bad enough to detract significantly. Highly recommended dishes: the creamy cheesecake and the pistachio and yuzu fried baby squid. Each was a standout in its own way! The scallops and vegetable “ensaladilla,” is also worth trying.

We sat at the bar and had a really great evening. The food is exceptionally good. We enjoyed every last bit. Can recommend everything they offer.

Wonderful late lunch at this gem. We had the menu Barra Alta and we treated to a variety of creative flavors.

Food was great, interesting dishes with a good combination of flavours. The scallop carpaccio and chocolate cake were our faves! Service was next level, even with it being a busy Friday night and when some of the members of our group were being a little picky ;) Thank you!

We opted to order what we wanted from the menu and it was all amazing. The cod fritter was the weakest dish but honestly they were all great. Both pork dishes were so delicious they were my favourites, the roosterfish was surprising and impressive, scallops and asparagus were beautifully cooked and the lobster tartare was perfectly light and balanced. My husband loved the oysters. The chocolate cake was not to missed and the coffee was good (for Spain).

From the moment I arrived, all the staff were friendly and polite. I had a great conversation with the chefs and they provided great insights on what they recommend which didn’t disappoint. I went on a Tuesday so easily accessible if you would like a walk in but it’s best to pre book just in case. Each dish was presented with the upmost care and I was more than satisfied with my experience. I’ll be sure to favourite this restaurant for when I come back to Barcelona later this fall. Amazing food, forgot to take a picture of the meat, but everything had an amazing flavor. Around 60€ per person and really friendly staff. We had a great time and the flavors of every dish were amazing. Oysters, Croquettes, Tartar, Scallops, Iberico Meat, slider, whatever you order you won’t be disappointed.

Very tasty tapas dishes, definitely the best food so far in Barcelona. The rich flavors are extremely precise by their chef, I'd say it lives up the high bar of a Michelin restaurant.
