We hoped for the traditional food from Czech Republic, but considering only the food this was a tourist guidebook about Karlovy Vary. It’s probably nicer to sit there and have something to drink, because even most common food from Czech Republic like palacinky was not very good. But there is a nice vibe about the place - mountain like.

Gulasova polevka (130Kc) was good, but the bread was not fresh. Jeleni hrbet (440Kc) was prepared well.

Very very retro restaurant, both in the food and the whole vibe of the building/place. Staff was very nice, but that's the best thing about the place, the rest is just average. Plus, it has unreasonably high prices.

Surprisingly pleasant for what it is. This is a place you reach after a 45 minutes hike and it is situated close to a viewing deck, so you do not expect much. Yet the food is rather decent and the service surprisingly friendly. This is, of course, not an elegant place. But cosy and well run. Definitely better than anticipated.

Instead of having a ride on the funicular (that was closed by 7 p. m.) we had to climb the hill, which was a great experience. Finding this restaurant with a wonderful playground for kids and mini zoo was totally unexpected for us, though it was also closed by the time we reached the top of the hill😅 It is said on the facade of the building that the restaurant was founded in 1914. Quite impressive! We enjoyed the privacy of this visit. And hopefully we will return here again one day to try some traditional dishes.

Nice place to enjoy a good on top of the hill. The service is fast and friendly. Waitresses speak English, German, Russian and Czech. The menu did not have much of the vegetarian choices but meats variety was quite generous - apart from regular choices the place offers wild pigs and deers.

The view was great, but staff was rather unfriendly. This palace makes money on tourists, but they were rather hostile to us when we asked them in English. You are better off going back to town and find a restaurant outside the touristy area.

Charming old-fashioned restaurant with decent food and reasonable prices. It also offers free Wi-Fi and features a beautiful peacock outside.

Yelp
I thought it was lovely. Sure it's touristy, but it's an adorable spot on top of a mountain which you reach by funicular! I had goulash in a bread bowl. A white peacock from the nearby petting zoo joined me. Maybe the other folks who gave this place 2 stars came in the high season. I was there in October and it wasn't crowded at all..

Yelp
Good location, but because it is next to the Diana observation tower it is overcrowded/ packed with tourists, so the food quality is not consistent. The game dish I ordered included overcooked meat in some sort of barbeque sauce - very little gastronomical value

Yelp
Service is incredibly slow and rude. Staff messes up order (I ordered a large, still water and got a small sparkling water. When I told the staff there was an error, initially they apologized and said they would correct it. However, after 30 minutes of eating and having already gotten all our other items, I went to the hostess stand to explain I'd never gotten the correct bottle of water. They handed me a bottle of water and a different server followed me to my table. Then she insisted I pay for the wrong bottle of water because it was open. I didn't open it, it was served that way. The beer is served warm, ice cream is half melted. I would skip this unless you just like having a bad experience.

Yelp
Low standards restaurant in a very nice place. High prices for the small portions. Prices higher even for Prague standards. What we tried was tasty but nothing worth mentioning. Service is not good. Better choose a restaurant in the city of Karlovy Vary

Yelp
We ordered there a guláš in bread, řizek and fried hermelin cheese. Everything tasted fine. Waiter was friendly and we wasn't waiting long. Nice place to taste Czech food. Prices are like in Prague. Some tables weren't clean enough for me, but there were plenty of other free tables.
