Federico Campolattano established himself as the premier Italien fine dining restaurant of the region in record time. His food is outstanding and would do any Italien city honour. His exquisit art to focus on the natural taste of the best possible ingredients is masterly excecuted, he does not compromise to cater for German or any other tastes. He trained with the best chefs in Italy and graces Freiburg with his totally authentic southern Italien cuisine, full of surprises and innovation. The service lead by Valentina Tito is exceptional. A new wine list features many treasures of Italien Wines, from outstanding and some not so well known wineries. Gault Millau rewards the Eichhalde with three red cooking hats! Wow! In March 2023 the Eichhalde was rewarded with a Michelin Star, just as we predicted! Heartfelt congratulations! Christian Bau, one of the most celebrated 3-Star Michelin Chefs in Germany just called the Eichalde „the biggest culinary surprise of the year“. The dinner left him speechless many times, he wrote in an article for Die Welt newspaper.

It is not about going to a restaurant, Eichhalde is about living a unique experience. Passion is perceived in every detail, from the food to the service! I love to spend my time there, I forget about the rest and I just enjoy the moment I am living!!

The service is very friendly, attentive but not overbearing. They are very helpful and willing in accommodating dietary restrictions. The food is a great mixture of northern Italian classical ingredients with the chefs innovative approach. The wine list is a great selection of Italian wines from across the country. This has been the best dining experience I have had in Freiburg for a long time. The combination of outstanding food and service in a beautifully thought out ambience is refreshing and I hope this place will stay in business for a long, long time!

Our server was Donny (not sure on the spelling) and he was WONDERFUL! The food was amazing and each course was described in detail when served. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Freiburg!

Good food

Very charming restaurant with some amazing dishes and a good variety of Italian wines. The two signature dishes were outstanding.
