"This pleasant restaurant with its lovely summer terrace is highly recommended for a relaxing meal out. The finesse of the dishes reveals the chef's French soul. Flavours from around the globe, meticulously prepared vegetables and a masterful use of spices and acidity guarantee that seductive touch." - Michelin Inspector

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Elkaar in Amsterdam, and it was truly a culinary journey like no other. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality. The seven-course meal, accompanied by perfectly paired wines, elevated the dining experience to new heights. Each dish was a masterpiece, showcasing a harmonious blend of flavors that danced on the palate. The oysters and champagne served as a delightful prelude to the feast that followed. What truly stood out was the impeccable service; the staff were not only attentive but also incredibly knowledgeable about the cuisine and wine selection, enhancing our overall enjoyment. Without a doubt, Elkaar has set a new standard for fine dining in Amsterdam, and I can't wait to return for another unforgettable experience.

What a treat! This lovely restaurant is dog friendly! Food is delicious, delicate and well presented. There is no menu and let the chef surprise you! How exciting! Staff here are just wonderful! Can’t wait to go back and be amazed!

Google
Such delicious and inventive food. The most surprisingly great was the white asparagus ice cream. I’d also highly recommend getting the wine pairing. They change their menu every 2.5 months so I’ll definitely be going back to see what the next set of dishes will be!

Small and cozy restaurant for long conversations and good food. We came at 6pm and our 5 course menu finished at 9pm. So, it was a bit too long, but we had a nice conversation. Unfortunately sometimes waiters didn’t even took empty plates away from us, so we ended up sitting in front of them. Moreover, we saw that people who arrived 1h later than us were served the same courses at the same time as we were. In my opinion, food was quite good, but not excellent: some courses were interesting in taste and delicious, 2 courses out of 5 I, personally, didn’t like. I probably wouldn’t return, but I saw that many people did. Never say never. The menu changes seasonally, so, who knows, maybe chief’s summer choice would be better?

Lovely neighbourhood gem with creative and delicious dishes and a pleasant atmosphere. The service was friendly and the chef came out to tell us about the restaurant and some of the dishes he had created. Recommended for a treat. Will return.

I had my birthday dinner yesterday at Elkaar restaurant, this restaurant is very modern and friendly. We ordered 5 course dinner and all the dishes were tasty and delicious. I made a video in my youtube channel you can search “Amsterdam travel Elkaar” to find out that video in YouTube

Yelp
Dinner here was super lovely, not rushed at all in a cool and relaxing corner restaurant atmosphere, very attentive and knowledgeable service, beautifully plated dishes with unique amuse-bouche, and incredibly tasty bread and butter that's hard to resist filling up on. The dishes were diverse in ingredients and really pleasant on the palate. I wish there was a little more spice or heat on some of them but a lack of heat is a thing I've found throughout Europe. Although there was no single bite I look back on with absolute fondness that I can tell others about, it's still quite an enjoyable experience.

Yelp
Surprise dinner. Come prepared to be amazed. Dinners are served as blind courses, you choose only the number of courses you want. Each dish they presented to us was more progressively more delicious. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Not really sure what is up with this place. First tried to book 30 days out on their website but since we do not have Maestro or Dutch bank account could not reserve. Then we arrived here and had our hotel (Hyatt Regency) book for us. We confirmed a 6 course meal. Arrived and were told we did not have a reservation and they were totally booked and turned away. Back at hotel we asked them to help and they were also treated to a brick wall of discourtesy. Don't book this restaurant!

Yelp
My wife and I had a wonderful evening at the Elkaar. We were celebrating our first anniversary. Food was really tasty and the service was wonderful. The place is cosy. They accepted our last minute reservation on a Saturday night - make sure to book. The place was full! My wife and I had the 3 services menu. Our favorite dish? The desert! They were both amazing! I would definitely recommend this place for a romantic diner.

Yelp
Excellent restaurant with delicate and fine French style food. A rather small and intimate place with a real identity. This is what I call a "reference table" in Amsterdam. + : First I often consider that a great restaurant needs to have great bread. This is the case @ Elkaar where they serve you with a crunchy and soft French style small bread cut in 4 to open up your appetite. Then you get a chance to choose within a 3-course menu (for about 36€)... all dishes using great fresh fish or meat, seasonal vegetables with fine pairing. Well what more can you ask for? Last time I enjoyed Elkaar, I had a fantastic codfish and shrimp salad with perfect seasoning, sea bass with a tasty medley of vegetables and finished with a great sweet note : their own interpretation of a lemon pie. I also love how their portions are thoughtfully sized i.e. you really have enough to eat but it is not too much. They also have outdoor tables, so if weather allows it the great Elkaar experience can be taken outdoors - : There is really not much negative I can say about this great place. I just wished there were a few more nice wine options around 40-45€. A decent burgundy bottle cost about 55-60€. That's slightly over the top for the standard of this restaurant. In conclusion : If you are asking yourself "Where are we going to eat tonight" and look for great food, nice environment, reasonable price... whether you plan a night out with your friends or a romantic 4-eye dinner, Elkaar is the place!

Yelp
Maybe my review will not be as relevant as the other ones as I went there for lunch during restaurant week. I am sure theres is huge potential to be an amazing place, but it wasnt so great 3 course menu was fixed: We started with an amuse bouche of a bisque (extra extra strong and salty), with a little canape of duck liver Starter was a delicious salmon marinated in citrus with tarragon mayonnaise ... very good! The salmon was super tasty and the combination was perfect Main course was a disappointing tasteless duck breast. Usually love this meat, but the texture, the taste and the colour was wrong (we suspect it wasnt the highest quality). It was a bit over cooked and served with potatoes (I had fondant potatoes), asparagus, and red onion confit (which i am not sure was homemade) Dessert was a banana parfait (not so parfait) as it was completely frozen and impossible to eat. It came with a pistachio sauce and small chocolate mousse But we didnt wait for it to melt, everything was really slow and we had to get back to work. (we arrived at 12.30 and left at 13.45!) The service was very good, the waiter explained everything and was very attentive. Unfortunately, I think its the problem with restaurant week ... it doesnt always reflect what the restaurant can do (because of the super low price) I would like to try their usual food another time, but its sometime difficult to try again after a disappointment...

Yelp
5 stars as this is one of the best Amsterdam restaurants east of the River Amstel (sharing a second place with Van de Markt). Very good value for money (3 course menu for €36) reason why it received a so called Bib Gourmand in the Michelin guide. Also a good outdoor dining spot with a beatiful view of the Muiderpoort. Key words: good inventive food, white table linnen without being too formal, value for money, informal staff and great terrace. Definitely a must visit if you live in this area.

Yelp
Fantastic little culinary gem in Oost. Great french cuisine and wine list. Staff is also very friendly and down to earth. Good place when you want top of the bill food with a casual atmosphere.

Yelp
We went here for one of those dining week specials. We had 3 courses and everything was just very average. They did ask us what we don't like and did a good job avoiding those items. We had one waiter who kept taking our drink orders and never bringing anything, and one waiter that was attentive. The decor inside is quite cute and romantic. I think they have some good stuff, but I wasn't really impressed with this specific 3 course menu. if there was an occasion to go back, I would probably give it another chance.

Yelp
A real gem. My wife and I had a great evening here, our last night in Amsterdam. The chief even came to each table to explain each dish, and every dish was so well presented. Everything was excellent, enough not to much, even the bread was fresh. Wonderful evening even spoke with other guests in the small room and everyone agreed, a culinary gem, with friendly hosts

Yelp
Great food and amazing atmosphere. Very unique place. Very cozy and upscale without being stuffy it formal. Local flavor as well.
