"Slow all the way down for an intimate dinner at this converted 18th-century mansion in Ciutadella’s old town. Herbs grow in hanging baskets under whitewashed arches, and we can only presume they’re plucked and plated on the pretty dishes coming from the open-plan kitchen. Unsurprisingly, menus (around €35 per person) are driven by whatever is in season: plump tomatoes and fresh figs in the summer, earthy mushrooms in the fall. Regular plates include coca bread with toppings like sweet, juicy apricots or sobrasada drizzled with honey, plus fish fresh from the surrounding waters. " - isabella noble

"Es Tast De Na Silvia is a pioneering Slow Food restaurant in Ciutadella, Menorca, run by local chef Silvia Anglada. It is located in a former 16th-century chapel and serves dishes like arroz de la tierra, using antique xeixa wheat."

The restaurant, owned by Chef Silvia and her husband Toni, is easily one of the best restaurants in Menorca. With a focus on “slow,” locally sourced, and sustainable cuisine, each dish was a perfect blend of flavours that highlighted the freshness and quality of the island’s produce. From starters to desserts, the balance and harmony in each course were remarkable. We also really enjoyed the open planned kitchen, which provides a glimpse into the meticulous preparation of each dish, adding an engaging element to the dining experience. All in all, we had a wonderful time at the restaurant and would highly recommend it.

For people who understand what slow food means, this is an absolute magnificent experience. You can taste both the passion and the ingredients as they are supposed to be. We wanted to come back the next day but then it was fully booked. Now we have to wait for another year before we can return. Already looking forward to that.

Absolutely lovely. The chef was also our waiter, so he knew absolutely everything about the ingredients - the food was sublime and the open kitchen is just lovely. Highly recommend the artichoke, cannelons and the chocolate bomb!

Silvia Anglada is the chef and the owner (with her husband) of the restaurant which brings her name: Es tast de na Silvia (certainly one of the best 2/3 restaurants of Ciutadella). And the "tast" (taste) is exactly the heart of her cuisine. The restaurant is the only one in Menorca to have received the recognition of Slow Food because of its strict attention to the so-called km 0, that is the attention to the origin of the products used in the kitchen. Indeed Silvia uses only products and ingredients of Menorca. For this reason the daily menu changes often, in relation to the actual availability of products. And the kitchen line depends on these. In the meantime Silvia has the technique to develope and value her ingredients. So you can taste dishes as the incredible (for the presentation too) "Potatoes of Biniba with sobrasada and our organic fried egg from Algaiarens" or the taste the "Suckling lamb of Menorcan race of Torralbet with its sauce, pumpkin and saffron gnocchi". Not to be missed the cheese of Menorca with jams platter. The good bread is home made. Large wine list with possibility to drink wine by the glass. Pleasant warm and familiar atmosphere (the husband of Silvia will personally take care of you).

Lovely little family run business. The open kitchen allows you to gaze in at Silvia and the team as interesting and delicious combinations of food come out as ordered. Varied menu that caters for all dietary requirements

A great place to visit in Ciutadella. A very charming place, small with a cozy vibe. The attention was superb, making us feel at home. The fast that they have an open kitchen, allowing to see the cook at work, gave it a unique sensation. The food was amazing, everything felt fresh and meticulously elaborated, without a doubt the best we had during our visit. Easilly recommended during a stay in Menorca.
