Restaurant Essort

I am still dreaming about the food I had! Wine pairing is excellent; they have put a lot of effort into it. The atmosphere is great; services makes you feel very welcome and special. Just lean back and enjoy the experience. Essort is our new favourite in Bern!

Everything was great at our visit. The selection in the menu is limited, which allows to offer great quality dishes. I had quail, flank steak and a cheese dessert afterwards. The dishes very really tasty and also looked great. The service was also top quality. We will go there again!

Excellent place for a high end meal. The courses can be combined to your preferences, with good vegetarian choices too. If you are vegan call ahead and they will accommodate you with a special menu. They have a lovely outside terasse with lots of greenery. Super friendly service. Not cheap of course.

The idea of mixing food cultures and tastes and to encourage the customers to try new dishes is always welcome . Unfortunately in this case is poorly executed and also at a really high price. The atmosphere is realxed but the environment is a patchwork. The food was a huge disappointment : the pastinaca soup was incredibly salty, the paneer was comparable to something I could cook at home, the sashimi in yuzu Bouillon was good, the risotto and sauce that came with the chicken was so salty that I couldn't eat it, the aubergine piccata was almost raw ( Raw aubergines really taste bad), the chees was good ;) . Wine and drinks were nicly choosen. Service was friendly . Prices not proportioned to the offer (200 CHF x 2 person 3 small entries each). I am not sure to be brave enough to give it another chance .

Very welcoming hosts and delicious food

Cool concept (you can assemble your own 3-6 course menu from the options they have). Everything was absolutely delicious! The servers were very attentive and extremely friendly. We will come back for more 😊

If you like to explore different tastes, experiment with mixing them (by yourself) and not afraid to put around 90 francs per person for the three course meal with a glass of wine - this is an excellent choice! A very precise cuisine, beautifully served plates and a good personal attitude of the staff. The wine list is very well comprised, good selection of Swiss wines, good fittings with the food served.

I don't like Swiss food, Swiss can't cook. But this place is something else!! Every dish is so well balanced you wonder how someone can think to cook something like it. Truly world class cuisine and fantastic service. I will only be taking my special guests here!

The food was exquisite...incredible cuisine beautifully prepared in a quiet outdoor garden. The service was excellent. The best meal of our Italian/Swiss trip!
