"Inspired by his encounters with small-scale producers, chef Keisuke Yamagishi, who hails from the rural province of Nagano, Japan, serves surprise menus based on seasonal ingredients. In a minimalist setting (the overhead lighting is by Serge Mouille), the chef treats us to his creative outlook, his refined vision of plating and his passion for Burgundy wines, in particular." - Michelin Inspector

A nice hidden gem! You can feel their passion! Chef Keisuke is a talented chef. There is a Japanese culinary style infused to their menu in a very gentle way. This deserves your visit. (Details: Starter: Sliced zucchini with pasta, topped with fried potatoes and wagyu in buttery dressing. This seems to be a bit oily for a starter after a very refreshing amuse bouche. Fish main: Very juicy sea bream with a ginger based mousse. This is very delicate way to infuse the Japanese (but also Cantonese) cooking style for treating fish with ginger! My favourite fish for the night! Meat main: Seared Duck Breast. It was cooked pretty good. Duck is tender and the skin is presented beautifully to keep a soft texture, through I prefer a thiner duck skin. Dessert: Jasmine tea ice cream and cherries. Flawless! Excellent combo! One of the best ice cream I ever have. Service: Perfect. Warm, welcoming and comfortable. Japanese style! We had a wonderful night! Thank you!

Loved this small intimate restaurant. Food was amazing and the staff were fantastic. There were 6 diners when we went - it is truly a small place. Absolutely loved the food.

Google
Very small restaurant with just three tables with one seating for the evening. No menu from which to choose but the menu is what the chef creates. The courses are well paced, the service impeccable, and the food absolutely delicious. My wife and I chose this restaurant for our 25th wedding anniversary and on our last night in Paris, and the experience was one of the highlights of our trip. Absolutely wonderful.

#78 in my Michelin Stars Marathon in Paris. You can check the published reviews on my profile. Sadly this one lost its star before I had time to publish. Let me start by the end. I would say it deserves its star. For me there are more obvious corrections than this one. So for you dear readers, I consider it as a Michelin Star. I know that you may find some details, but you could in plenty of non top tiers one star. What’s interesting here? The contrast between the warm touch from the waiter and the precision of chef. The waiter is extremely kind and will enjoy explaining each dish. I said enjoy because he will adapt his delivery to every table. I did not catch him repeat the same exact sentence like a parrot to two tables (which annoyingly common in other one star). I insist on this point because it does make a difference for you (he’s really telling you something, he’s there) and for him (he’s not having a “robot” day). He’s genuinely trying to help you better appreciate and understand the chef s cuisine. The chef meanwhile is extremely focused on his craft and you can witness his dedication from your table. For me it does deserve its star I wish them to get it back next year

Apart from the amuse bouche which was served cold, every dish was very enjoyable. Contrast of flavors and textures worked very well - not a huge meat lover but really enjoyed the main!

Google
This is such a wonderful restaurant. The menu consisted of many innovative courses. Our party of three vegetarians was truly thrilled with the unique ingredients and beautiful presentation beginning with the amuse bouche all the way through to dessert. We are still talking about the meal hours later because it is beyond compare to anywhere we have eaten despite our travels to many cities known for excellent food. The chef is a treasure. This is a wonderful choice for a special meal.

Innovative, exiting and excellent food, caring service and rich list of wines, including for dessert. Perhaps a bit too minimalistic interior

Yelp
For a vegetarian ( or not) the best possible gourmet meal In Paris and as good as any I have had anyone. The uniqueness and tastiness of multiple small plates - some things that I would love to make I never thought of. An amazing experience of cost but greater value

Yelp

Yelp
There may be only a few restaurants that will linger in your mind long after you left...? Etude certainly does to me. Talented Japanese chef ( will skip his bio though :) with his lovely wife who is actually the sommelier offer Japanese immaculate attention to details for all kinds of aspects in fine dining ; the intimate and simple but elegant décor, thoughtful service and of course " Just so beautiful and sophisticated meals matched with fantastic wines " . Everything I like is here. Nothing I felt too much. You will experience all to know why French cuisine done by Japanese chefs are ever so recently recognized and praised by not only fussy locals or Japanese perhaps;) but also internationally. Etude is one of my very favorites in Paris at present (also among other talented Japanese chefs ), it is simply exquisite ! You will love this elegant restaurant I promise :) It is a small restaurant so do book ahead. ( in French/English/Japanese )

Yelp
Fantastic restaurant, went for lunch and had the set meal. Flavors were complex and delicious but didn't leave you feeling heavy. It was by far my favorite meal from our trip. I can see why the set meals have a musical theme in the naming. The service was also hands down the best we had during our trip. Will be coming back next time we are in town.

Yelp
I'm still thinking about this place, 2 months after dining there. It's small, but I went by myself on a Saturday night and got lucky enough to get in. One of the waiters spoke English and was very kind and patient. The service is impeccable. There were 11 courses -- 4 of which were dessert! I had the best asparagus I've ever eaten. A must visit.

Yelp
Simply extraordinary. Elegant but not pretentious. Wait staff friendly (spoke English) and provided top tier service. The food is from another world. A variety of tastes from many influences. Go there, now, while you can still get a table and while you can say "I went there before it had Michelin stars".

Yelp
Our concierge introduced this restaurant as an up and coming eatery that offered a traditional French experience from a Japanese-French chef. We had the lunch. The restaurant is small and seats about 6 tables and, as such, is cozy and comfortable. The staff were exceptional and waited on us with an appropriate amount of detail. The wine list was excellent and offered everything from high end Bordeaux to more reasonably priced selections. We went with a recommendation from the maitre de which was spot on. The food consisted of about 6 courses with the meat dish being a beautifully marbled Japanese steak that blew away the more common and popular Kobe style. We could really appreciate the combination of Japanese and French influences. At the end we asked and were offered a taste of Iberico ham, black label, and we're kindly given a brief tutorial on Iberico. And to top it off, we asked and were permitted a picture with the chef. Overall, this was one of our best meals in Paris.
