"Restaurant Eve, the fine dining restaurant where chef Cathal Armstrong first experimented with Thai and Filipino dishes now gracing tables at Wharf eatery Kaliwa and where co-founder Meshelle Armstrong marvelled at businessmen enthralled by little pink birthday cakes, will serve its final meal on Saturday, June 2." - Warren Rojas

"An alum of critically acclaimed Bad Saint and an essential part of forthcoming Wharf restaurant Kaliwa, Dungca’s feed is full of the dishes he’s perfecting for Eat Good Food Group’s new South Asian restaurant, the exploratory eating he does around the area, and abstract takes on life in a working kitchen." - Eater Staff

Fantastic, absolutely fantastic. This restaurant is tucked into a little alley, almost invisible to a passerby. It doesn’t ask for attention and it’s subtle nature almost gives it an air of exclusivity, which is a nice change. Walking in, the environment is beautiful. Waiters and staff are dressed up, classical music is playing quietly and everything is very calm. We were seated immediately and had our drinks within minutes of sitting down. A word of warning, this restaurant is VERY expensive (we’re talking like $50) meals. However (Insider’s Tip Alert) if you sit at the bar from 11:30-3:00 you can peruse the lunch menu and order your pick of a few, delicious menu items for either $15 or $28....fat under what you would pay during the dinner hour. I ordered two entrees ($15 total), the Soup de Jour and an Irish Bacon, Egg and Cheese sandwich. The soup was wonderful. It was whipped and had a creamy texture which was very easy to eat. The sandwich was good too. A little too much butter for my taste, but at the same time it’s hard to complain. The entire meal was complimented by unlimited, fresh-cooked bread which I was foolish enough to consume before my entree arrived, leaving me just about stuffed. Overall, I loved this place. Unless I was drowning in riches, I probably wouldn’t go here for dinner, but the lunch out meal was reasonable and delicious; I highly recommend it.

The 7 course tasting menu was delicious and fun. We enjoyed the wine pairings poured by Nikki, the wine director.

The best deal is the quick lunch where you get any two items from the lunch menu very tasty. Typically there is a soup and sandwich offering or a salad. You can also order a drink as one of your two items or for that matter order two desserts. Eve provides great bread crunchy outside with a tender inside.

2017 I ate here after hearing from a friend the food was supposed to be amazing but it's very expensive. I knew going in I would pay for good food and have no issue with paying for quality and an experience. When I made reservations I stayed lactose intolerance for myself as a food limitation. At the meal I reminded the server and she was a bit of an eccentric gray haired woman who seemed flustered. The meal is served bit by bit and every time others food was brought out looking good I was brought a bite size or less of berries. No sauce or anything just berries. Not exotic or prepared just washed blueberries and raspberries. About a spoonful. The meal concluded and I'd had about four or five spoonfuls of berries with she crab. The she crab was served seemingly plain and some time after all others food. Others were put off by the constant comings and goings of the server. And stated they were disappointed with the food after. I paid North of $300 for the meal and felt like I'd been having a trick played on me.

It is hard to believe that anyone could have anything but a positive experience at Restaurant Eve. The Chef's Tasting Menu was a symphony of diverse and wonderful flavors and the wine pairings were excellent and sometimes unexpected. The wait staff was attentive without being intrusive and we enjoyed discussing the food and wines with them. The rich flavors and atmosphere made for a transcendent experience. If I lived in the area, I would be planning another visit since the menu changes daily. The ingredients are fresh, organic and locally sourced. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

Unfortunately this meal was below par on all levels. There was a distinct and unpleasant smell when we entered the restaurant. After ordering drinks I again had an unpleasant experience with the Peruvian drink which smelled off putting. As a group, we ordered the Asian tasting menu and ended up with first course that was a slap of full pork fat on a tray with minuscule rice and a small dipping container. Not only did it look substandard, it tasted the same. We all abandoned the Asian menu for other fare. I ordered my dish to be prepared well done--it came raw. I sent it back and waited nearly 20 minutes to get it returned and the other guests had finished. One would think the manager would respond while we were in the restaurant or to my call after. No. Alas, let the diner beware. Think carefully before choosing this place.

Went in for dinner at the bar on a first visit. We checked out coats, went to the bar and there seemed to be a lot of little issues throughout the night. Ordering drinks took about 10 minutes (2 bartenders and bar was half full). We asked for a food menu and had to ask the bartender to come over to explain the menu and make suggestions. We had to ask twice for the cheese listing. My expectations for this restaurant may have been too high, because I was definitely let down by my experience. We got wine, cocktail, cheese board and cheese and chip dip. The food runner messed up our food twice being delivered as well. The girl couldn’t find our coats at the end of the night. Hopefully this was just an off night. But was disappointed.

I'm not really sure why people are saying this is not worth the price because this is one of the best meals I've had. We did the tasting menu (5 courses is going to be more than enough) and ordered a bottle of wine. They started us with three primies before the five course menu. Everything was absolutely delicious. This is fine dining so it is going to be more that the normal place, but I think this is worth every single dollar!
