The 27 Best Restaurants in Huatulco, Oaxaca - Eater

"This family-run beachside destination is known for meat, whether it’s a marinated flank steak (the house specialty), smoked ribs, or grilled Argentine and Mexican sausages. Order the “parrillada” for a little of everything with a pile of delicious frijoles charros, or cowboy beans. Jaime Lemini is behind everything from the shrimp soup and crisp fried shrimp to the live ranchera ballads — yes, the cook also sings. [$$-$$$]" - Tirza Bonifazi, Verónica Jiménez Salcedo

Finca del Vaquero is one of those hidden gems in Huatulco. The atmosphere feels rustic and local — open air, relaxed, and surrounded by nature. Everything we ordered was delicious and freshly made, full of authentic Oaxacan flavor. The portions were fair, the prices reasonable, and the service was friendly and attentive. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel like you’ve stepped away from the tourist side and into real coastal Mexico. Definitely worth the visit if you want great food, a laid-back vibe, and a true local experience.

Craving good meat, and found it here in large quantities. Delicious! Theu were put of XX beer, but the waiter ran next door and bought some for us after we settled on a lesser alternative. Great service!

If you are a carnivore…this is your place. The Flank Steak was superb…the Chorizo and Pork Sausage was 10/10. We had chicken substituted as they didn’t have any smoked ribs…it was done well and extremely tasty. We went on a quiet day…but it looks like there would be entertainment on other nights. Highly recommend!

Excellent carne asada when you want a break from seafood. Wife and I had the frijoles charros, guacamole, queso fundido, tortillas, all four salsas, arrachera and everything was phenomenal! Definitely recommended for anyone in search of an alternative to seafood although they also have that option but we did not try it. Enjoy!

All meats are really good in flavor and preparation. Service is prompt and attentive. The atmosphere is laid back and unpretentious, I only give four stars to that one because it may not be for all. Delicious lemonade with freshly squeezed (Mexican) limes. They give you bean soup with your orders, and a plate for 2 is generally good for 3! Price wise it is affordable, without being cheap, but you are eating really good meat, so bear that in mind. We spent about $250-300 per person (party of 3) no alcoholic beverages, but a meat dish for 2, a salad to share, some guacamole and drinks. It is sometimes sad to see that such a good place has several empty tables. If trying to have a "taco" experience without visiting the street stand, this is the place, and I'm sure you will be back regularly.

This was our first time at Finca de Vaqueros and we will DEFINITELY be back!!! We ordered the meat platter and it was outstanding!!! It was enough for us to eat and we also had leftover to bring home for the next day. LOVED the atmosphere and service was top notch!

I loved the setting and decor. The service was also good . Unfortunately the meat was good but overpriced for the quantity. The house wine was excellent but fairly priced. There are Argentinian restaurants nearby with much better quality and quantity and better service.

I wanted to try this restaurant out as I had people recommend it to me. It was very easy to get to. The restaurant was very open, with tables adequate spaced apart. the set up made it possible for you to either sit in the open air or within the restaurant. I decided to try the Carne Surtida. I chose the surtida because it is a variety of the grilled meats served. I only ordered the half a kilo. It came with a light salad a small bowl of cooked white beans, and 4 choices of Salsa. The service was very quick, and the server very friendly and attentive. The meal arrived hot and without delay. On my platter there was a serving of Arrachera, Chorizo Argentino, and Chistorra. My favorite was the arrachera. It was done to my liking, very tender with a wonderful flavor. It was a basic no-frills meal, with the cost just slightly higher than expected. I would definitely recommend giving it a try if you haven’t been there yet. It’s a great place for meat lovers, or for those who want to do a keto meal.
