"This spruce, modern eatery done up in oatmeal shades features a square dining room with painted mouldings, a coffered ceiling, an imposing chandelier and upholstered velvet seats. Chef Maxime Le Meur, who trained with some of the greats, leaves nothing to chance as he crafts cuisine inspired as much by seasonal ingredients as by his Breton (check out the surf ‘n turf dish of Breton squab with lobster) and Grenoble roots (Chartreuse liqueur is never far from the culinary score). A festival of forthright, meticulous flavours overflowing in creative ideas. Affordable lunchtime menu." - Michelin Inspector

Such a wonderful place. Beautiful food that is just as good as it looks. We went with the tasting menu and every dish was such a lovely surprise. Wines were fantastic, service was perfect. Can’t ask for more. This ended up being the highlight for us out of 4 nights in Paris.

Outside of my Michelin Stars Challenges (tried every Michelin Stars in paris, 3 stars, etc… follow me for more), I also try Michelin Guide restaurant. So an extremely quick review. Nice Michelin guide restaurant. Not a star. But a Michelin guide with some local crowd. I’ll recommend the mushrooms dish and the chocolate dessert. It does deserve to be in the Michelin, but it’s not currently aiming at a star. To be fair, the young waitress that I had was Star level trained (if not, she just is)

Small place with a very comfortable setting, great food, and good service. The food was very original, and tasty. Portions were rightly sized, and we generally truly enjoyed the experience.

Say “Yes” to their Chef’s 4 or 7 dish combination. It’s divine to the eye, pure joy for the palate and inspiring for the secret chefs amongst us. The dining room is perfect with tastefully appointed art and dinner ware. There isn’t a corner that isn’t artful including hallway to the loo and the loo itself. It’s all in the details is true to art form.

Amazing food. I tried things that were out of my comfort zone, such as sweetbread, and every single dish was delicious. The portions were also good, I had the 5 course menu and that was more than filling. The waiters were also friendly, no rude French waiters in this restaurant (or anywhere in Paris for that matter)!

A culinary grenade in your mouth In the heart of Paris, Gemellus makes you wonder if the French have outclassed the Brits. The dining room is a marvellous mash-up of old and new, with painted mouldings, coffered ceiling chandelier and velvet chairs. If you're super observant (or perhaps just spending too much time staring at the ceiling), you can spot a Ferrari. Yes, you read that right - a small Ferrari on the ceiling! I guess someone decided to play Monopoly. Now, the food. Well - It's Michelin-grade - which meant that it was fancy enough to make you feel like you're dining with the Queen, but tasty enough that you would not need to stop for fish and chips on the way home. Each dish was a work of art that made you feel guilty for destroying (eating) it. It's a place where the culinary excellence was mixed with some inspired design and one of my favourite dining experiences this year. So, if you're in Paris and fancy a meal that's posher than Posh Spice and more fun than a barrel of tipsy monkeys, go to Gemellus. Just don't try to nick the Ferrari on your way out - it is too high up anyway!

Excellent food in that cheffy way, somewhat overworked and tiny portions, but full of subtlety and flavour. Amuse bouche before and after, and very tasty bread with the beurre du jour, which was exquisite. Quiet atmosphere with diners who did not feel the need to shout, making it a good place for conversation over lunch. The tiny serving of wine (so-called glass) was delicious but eye-wateringly expensive. A place to go for a treat, but not a regular haunt.
