Delicious evening at Goyvaerts. The dishes all had a great taste, with only one (steak tartare) out of the seven courses being a little less, compared with the others, but still very tasty.
The wines were all very nicely paired with the dishes, complimenting it in different ways.
Now, what really brings down my evaluation is the service, both regarding the dishes and the wines. All the explanations were simply lacking. For the first course, the whole explanation of the dish was "radish". And that repeated with all following courses, with very brief explanations that didn't tell much at all of what we were eating. With the wines, we had even less, sometimes with the waiter only reading the name of the wine and leaving. There was no telling on the grapes, region, taste notes, why it was paired with the dish... and that for sure wasn't for a lack of time because of a busy night. It was a Tuesday with a total of 6 tables. All in all, a delicious evening, but an overall lacking experience.
