"Over the last few years, maître d' Milica Trajkovska Scheiber and head chef Jochim Busch have established a restaurant where diners can feel at home. In this outwardly rather unassuming building in Westend, you can expect food with plenty of character! This is modern cuisine that stands out for its individuality. Jochim Busch has the chutzpah to drastically pare down his dishes, which feature a beautiful interplay of contrasts and textures. A responsible approach to resources is really important to him, which is why selected regional and seasonal produce is the name of the game - "Taunus deer grilled over coniferous wood, pointed cabbage, parsley and wild garlic fruits" is a good example. Really delicious and high quality food. We came on a really hot day and I believe their ac unit wasn’t working so it was a bit difficult to sit and eat but the food quality and service were great

It’s the first time I tried a Michelin two star restaurant. The entrée had a lot of layers of different tastes. The bottom part of this entrée was crispy and flavorful. When it went inside your mouth, every second made the flavor so different. I was also impressed with the cabbage with mushrooms. I am the person who don’t dare to eat or approche mushroom for my entire life until this cuisine came in front of me. I decided to give it a try. I was sure what they put inside, but I finished the whole bowl. The mushroom went well with cabbage. Last but not least, the dessert was the best ice cream in my life. They simply put some marinated apple and some nuts on the bottom. It went so well with the slightly melted ice cream. In sum, 🌟🌟 resto with 🌟 price. The seasoning is slightly salty, so make sure you have a bottle of good wine to enjoy this meal. Bon appétit

Great food and friendly service. Decor is quirky and beautiful. Only drawback was they had no menu printed in English and staff were not fully able to translate. Overall a fantastic dining experience and watching the cooks in the open kitchen added to the ambiance of a fantastic dining experience!

Food was amazing, very creative and tasty. Plating was great, a lot of variety. Wine pairings were very good. The restaurant is very unique, everything is super modern and artistic. Biggest drawback which almost made me give it 3 stars, and the reason it’s not 5 is the wait time. The whole meal took 4 hours- 19:30-23:30. Really tests your patience and makes your stomach kind of upset since you eat a little bit and then stop for 20-30 mins, and keep doing that for hours.. Overall would probably recommend because the food was really good but good chance it’s a one time deal.

This meal will be 3 hours. And unnecessarily so. We thought Google was joking when it said that the average time spent was 3 hours, but Google wasn't joking. The food was as expected for a Michelin star restaurant but the time between courses was filled with bread and twiddling thumbs. It's worth a try but I don't know if it was worth the money per hour.

One of the only two Michelin two star restaurant in Frankfurt, the food and service are one of kind ! The food is creative and like an art. Definitely recommend to my friend in Europe.

I was amazed that I could secure a reservation two weeks out at the Gustav Restaurant. It features two Michelin stars. The meal consisted of five main courses and several smaller ones. The food quality, preparation and presentation were exemplary. I would say I was somewhat surprised by the restaurant's casual décor, that only two staffers worked the tables and the pacing of dishes often was delayed. My daughter and I ordered the wine pairings. After your glass was filled, they leave the bottle on the table with a napkin on top. We didn't know that this bottle was there to be simply admired. We felt the pours we received were very shallow. We thought it was there to refill our glasses. We learned quickly from one of the servers that was not the case. It was an embarrassing situation that caused us to leave the restaurant before our dessert was served. When I explained the situation to our server, she made no effort to remedy the misunderstanding. Our check came to $500 Euros.

There are two restaurants in Frankfurt with two Michelin stars and this is one of them. Set in the west end area of the city it has a modern and chic looking place with nice furniture, cutlery and glassware. The staff here are very nice and friendly albeit slightly aloof and the service is spot on. The food however is pretty uninspiring and I couldn't really tell the difference between the courses. Modern German inspired cuisine is the theme here but I must admit it was disappointing. Have eaten in tons of 2 star restaurants in Germany including the second one in Frankfurt this place would be at the bottom of the list for me. The best part of the meal was the amouse bouche and the waffles in the end. The rest was similar sauce with different additions and quite rich and fatty. I felt my sugar levels rise significantly. Never been to a restaurant at this level where there is no bread to mop up the juices on the plate. The generosity of the kitchen left a lot to be desired and jumping straight from the fatty and super rich duck straight to dessert meant the taste of the dessert was not at all felt. A palette cleanser would have made that so much better. This is the first time at a Michelin restaurant I did not finish my meal despite being hungry. The vegetarian menu was also pretty uninspired and none of us at the table enjoyed our meal. I don't think I would come back here again. I expect so much more from a restaurant at this level. Looks and service is good but for me it is all about the food.

My co-worker attended a vendor dinner at Restaurant Gustav. This was everyone's first time here, our factory partners in Frankfurt received the recommendation and made the reservation. I was impressed with the service quality, ambiance, and food. I'm not usually into high end "presentation" food, but I really enjoyed the food. They had a very focused smaller menu, so everything that was ordered was very interesting mixing different textures and interesting flavor mixing. I have to admit, I'm not the most adventurous eater, so some items would have been tough for me, luckily they had enough items on the menu to cover most people's taste preference.

Gustav is a fantastic restaurant incorporating finely crafted food and an extremely unique ambiance. This restaurant deserves every bit of the Michelin star it holds. Upon entering the restaurant you will notice right away the modern yet cozy feel that works so well to compliment the food and the space. The restaurant features artwork from Frankfurt artists much of which are stunning contemporary pieces to compliment the modern feel. Each dish on the menu is meticulously crafted and contains many unique flavors. I went with a few others so we were able to select just about every dish on the menu. The fish dishes are fantastic especially the Char. The duck was some of the best cooked and most flavorful I have ever had. Lastly the blue cheese with citrus dish was a truly fascinating combination and one you cannot miss. Don't skip this place if you are in Frankfurt.
