Berlin: Three-star chef Marco Müller's top tips

"A family go‑to for Chinese food, where the “Aubergine Yu Xiang Art” is a dish everyone swears by, and a Mosel Riesling from the terrific, rarity‑laden wine list pairs perfectly." - Le Guide MICHELIN

1st time visit today. The Wine Menu is very impressive. They have some great and rare Wine. The food was really good. I had the Won Ton Soup which was very tasty. The Beef was also pretty good. My Mom had the Duck. It was very crispy and the inside very soft and not dry. As a desert we split the fried banana with vanilla ice cream. Great service and very accommodating. I look forward to my next visit.

I went there in my birthday, not just the food was so dry and nothing special. We ordered 3 main dishes - all tasted the same and Dry. Apart from food being so tasteless- literally even lacking salt. The waitress was even worse. She was really rude- in the end when she came to clean the table- she practically made me clean everything. I wouldn’t have written a bad review if only the food was tasteless- but with this unacceptable attitude in top of tasteless food.

The food is delicious and - as far as I can tell - authentic sichuan cuisine. Prices are on the higher end. 5 wontons in chili oil at €9,50, chicken with vegetables €20+ and veggie only dishes from €17. If they didn't have Asian art on the walls you could think it's an old German restaurant. So don't go there for ambience;) But it's well established with lots of regular guests. So better to make a reservation before. I would recommend going for lunch starting at €9. Then it's more value for money.

Simple but absolutely excellent food. The dish I had had everything it needed and nothing more. Just 100% spot on. Also the wines by the glass work perfectly with the food. No frills, just perfect. The staff was lovely, friendly and attentive. Thank you so much for your hospitality!

Their food is great but the staffs are rude and unfriendly, their service is horrible and hostile. Ordered for two separate dishes that comes with rice but they only brought one plate of rice and when I tried to ask why the waiter was so rude to even respond.

Google
Possibly the best when list in Berlin. Generally very fair prices. (Excellent prices for premium German wines). Ask for Martin.

Yelp
Hotel concierge recommended this restaurant for Chinese food. Clean and tidy dining room. Service is good. As mentioned in the reviews, impressive and extensive wine list. Appetizers were nothing special and standard. Same with the egg drop soup. Main dishes were fresh, hot, and plentiful. White rice was al dente and not good. Stir fry beef has good flavor and the beef was tender and good cuts. Too many other options in the city so would not repeat.

Yelp
I was in crave for some authentic Chinese and it seems the most promising in the area so I gave it a try. I liked the huge red sign that makes you don't miss the "hot spot" once you are on that small street. The staff is very friendly and ready to meet your needs. As for the food, the entrée was a cold pickled mushrooms dish which was quite blend, I was expecting a bit of a kick like some oil or chili and the main course was the Gongbao smoked tofu with fresh bell peppers and a lot of other vegetables. The sauce, although authentic was a bit sweet for my taste. The presentation was very nice, nicely spicy. I went vegetarian and it was good and I could see some other people ordering meat dishes and they looked gorgeous so one in all a good experience, you can give it a try.

Yelp
Mr. Wu has been featured in NYT, on various websites and came recommended by wine industry folk for having one of the extensive & well priced German wine lists & food that pairs well with it in Berlin. The food itself is good, but not comparable to stuff you'd find in cities with a large mainland/HK population like Toronto. I'd personally avoid duck dishes here. Made two visits here and loved the experience both times.

Yelp
First time! Great lunch menu, fantastic food! Biggest choice of wine I have ever seen in an Asian restaurant.

Yelp
this is an excellent chinese place that uses no MSG and features a huge selection of german wine. they were featured in the nytimes http://www.nytimes.com/2010/09/10/world/europe/10berlin.html?_r=0 for their wine selection. the food is very tasty. my personal favorites are the duck with tea leaves and the spicy wontons. some of the dishes are really spicey!
