Didier Méril

"In a cosy, contemporary interior, enjoying lunch with a magnificent view over the bay of Le Prieuré promises to be a memorable experience. As they drink in the open sea, gourmets will appreciate the creative cuisine of chef-owner Didier Méril. His top-notch seasonal produce comes mainly from the market and local fisheries (Jerusalem artichokes showcased in a variety of textures and shellfish marinière; mackerel, spaghetti squash and a fish head jus finished with butter; pear tartlet with almond crisp, Tonka bean vanilla cream and pear sorbet). Good value for money at lunchtime." - Michelin Inspector

Only visited the restaurant not the hotel. The restaurant is intimate, beautiful and in a gorgeous setting. The food is delicious and the staff attentive. The unusual table settings with glass domes on the cutlery were a bit irritating when the dome wasn’t removed but kept sitting on the table in front of me. However, I would happily recommend this place for anyone who wishes for a special night out or just for a sophisticated dinner experience.

Liked · The location is good with views over the bay. |Breakfast is outstanding as you would expect for a "restaurant with rooms". A huge buffet choice with fresh juice, many cakes etc. ||Disliked · Wifi is a disgrace; very slow until it gave up totally at 10pm|Room 4 is a mess - tidy and large enough but a melange of styles, tiny bathroom with annoying step and chicane to enter. Bare Fridge sits on the floor -coffee machine in top; on another counter, is the Kettle and so on. Beware that other rooms on the 1st floor at least are very small and one has no view.|Parking is a problem. There are plenty of free public spaces outside but they are always full and you have to be lucky with someone leaving. We were but others seemed to be waiting ages. They offer a €35 Valet service.|We thought we had booked diner ( one of the reasons to choose this hotel) but on arrival they denied any booking and the small dining room was of course full. They said they sent out confirmations of bookings... No effort to suggest an alternative for diner.

I supposedly had a “superior” room with a sea view. While the room was ok it was on the top floor that seems an annex and not part of the hotel. Additionally, the room was underneath the kitchen hood so when I opened the window to get that nice sea breeze, I got a nauseating kitchen smell instead, not to mention the noise from the hood. I mentioned this to the staff but they were unfazed and unpleasant. Any other hotel would have apologized or offer some kind gesture but not here.

We were delighted to find, quite unexpectedly, your beautiful restaurant. The view, ambiance and the food were exceptional. In particular, we appreciated your warm hospitality. It was a 5 star experience. The 3 Australians - Elisabeth, Gillian and Liz

We had an excellent stay at Didier Meril. From the moment we checked in until the moment we checked out, it was a very pleasant stay. The staff at the front desk were all so welcoming and happy to help. The efficient cleaning staff, too, were patient and friendly.||Entering our room on the top floor, we were astonished at the breathtaking view over the bay; what a view to wake up to every morning! But also the clear shower cube and wonderful soaking tub were wonderful surprises. The room was clean, very nicely appointed, and the bed comfortable. ||The hotel is out of the fray of the touristic areas but is a short beautiful walk to downtown. There is also a great little boulangerie across the street, and an outdoor restaurant on the beach below.||Our stay in Dinard was made even more memorable thanks to Didier Meril and we will gladly recommend it.

Excellent little hotel right on the beach. The pictures provided by the hotel are very accurate depictions of what to expect. I've added the view from our balcony, which looks onto one of Dinard's beaches. There is a pool that fills with seawater so you can swim at high or low tide. Swimming there was a really magical experience! The hotel is right on the seawall, which is a beautiful walk. The staff were excellent and so helpful. Please note that the hotel is not accessible if you have mobility issues due to the configuration of the building. (We did not eat at the restaurant but I believe that is accessible.) If you can manage stairs, this is a little gem. It is about a 45 minute drive from here to Mont Saint Michel. But even better, in my opinion, is Cap Fréhel, about 45 minutes in the other direction. So it is centrally located to enjoy local attractions. Highly recommend!

Stayed two nights with breakfast each morning and dinner one night. Room 6 was an attic room with a great view across the bay. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom marvellous use of space and an outstanding shower. |Breakfasts were plentiful but perhaps not for the calorie conscious. However great launch pad for much dog walking in Dinard, Saint Malo and Cancale. |Our meal on the Wednesday night was superb and fun to read the menu from an I-pad. We chose the two different gourmet menus, one of us had carpaccio and then the beef and the other had beef cheek followed by the veal. Both of us had the cheese from the magnificent cheese trolley and then the pear and almond dessert. We chose a couple of Languedoc wines that were both excellent and very good value, as many of the wines from there are. |Finally the young serving staff were very enthusiastic, pleasant and knowledgeable. It was a great evening overlooking the Baie de Prieure|
