Restaurant Hotel Merlet

We had breakfast here and the buffet was delicious. The service was great and there were even gluten free bread rolls available upon request.

A wonderful experience! Grand cafe Bourgogne has it all, an artfull entrance that passed a wow. An extremely friendly staff that made us feel fully at ease and mampered. When I fell ill they were very kind and helpfull, a very warm feeling. Plus… the dishes were refined and served with professionalism. We highly recommend. Thank you!

Driving north from Haarlem, we stumbled on this fantastic hotel. It is top quality all the way around in a very quiet country setting. And it has a Michelin star restaurant! (We did not eat there for various reasons. I regret it now.) Our room was lovely with a giant tub at the foot of the bed near a mirror (use your imagination) and it was so quiet, it was like sleeping in a pillow, not on one. It has a modern decor with an indoor small pool and small workout room. But it is near the North Sea and that’s fun to visit. The staff was very attentive and friendly.

What a sensational experience with outstanding service! The restaurant is beautifully decorated and boasts a stunning view over the fields. We were given a personalised menu which was a great touch. We had the five course Taste of the Netherlands menu which was preceded by the most stunning amuses. The food was absolutely gorgeous with the most delicate of flavours and picture perfect plate arrangements. Food was locally sourced which was a bonus in my opinion. The staff were great especially the sommelier who was noticeably enthusiastic about his job. There were no negative points apart from perhaps a slightly long wait for the main course and a small parking area but that was definitely forgivable. We had a perfect evening and cannot wait to come again when the menu is changed. The best (Michelin star) restaurant I have visited so far.

Arranged a 60th getaway for a friend. From the moment I first booked it and asked to arrange flowers for the room to the final check out, the professionalism, friendliness and helpfulness of all the staff was first class, The food and wine was excellent. Real top quality dining experience. Loved the decor of the dining room, very eye catching. Beautiful location, can't rate this place highly enough.

We enjoyed a short stay at this nice family hotel in Schoorl… our room was large and has comfortable King Size Bed On the other side the huge tv with the large white Chesterfield do not contribute to the balanced decoration. We enjoyed our dinner in the bistro The breakfast did not meet our expectations.. no fresh fruits-salats/ juices and hams cheeses and so on…

This hotel is located in a great area for walking in the dunes near the beach. The room is perfectly fine but what we really went for was the Restaurant. Even eating in our room made it all worth while since the Michelin star is well deserved. The meals from the normal restaurant were also nice but doing the menu from premier restaurant is definitely worth the price. The rooms have a few annoying things. First, the toilet room light automatically turns on and floods the room with light in the middle of the night. It should be a nightlight in there, not an automatically turned on bright light. Also, there just are not enough hooks to hang up wet towels in the bathroom thus requiring a towel change every day (not a sustainable practices) and these days hotels are moving away from individual sized soaps and toiletries. A bit more effort could be taken to be green. Other than that, the hotel is perfectly fine.

We were quite impressed with the quality of cooking at this 1 Michelin Star. Very very good and solid throughout. We went for lunch in January and was quiet and calm and the service was great. The decor I’m not a fan of... a bit tacky-modern dutch, however the space feels good overall as the terrace and views to the garden are beautiful and relaxing. Definitely worth a visit.
